wuzzlefraggle · 25/10/2006 10:07

lol. morning nat - yeah im still bloddy pregnant AAARRRGH!!

no real signs of bugger all today (yet). i had a spicey curry again last night too. am tempted to try some of the RLT in the not too distant.

hope all goes well at the midwifes! did you get hold of your mum after?

NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 10:59

I have a few minutes extra now, DH is going to make it back on time to take us down, so I don't need the taxi, and I don't have to take DS in with me.

Yes spoke very quickly to my mum last night, I asked if they had a good time, and her (very stern words for my mum) answer was "did we buggery" never heard my mum even slightly swear before!! LOL I don't know which family member told her about whats going on here, but she said she was worried and asked if I wanted to go and stay with her till the birth, but obviously I can't, first DS is at school again next week, DH would be hours and hours away. Anyway, I had to get off because DH had done tea, and she was in bed having had no sleep the night before, so I said I would today after the m/w so I could tell her the whole long drawn out story! Was nice to just hear her though, DH said I seemed like a different person when I got off the phone last night! LOL How sad am I?!!!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 25/10/2006 11:12

lol @ your mum swearing. im sorry that she didnt have a very good time tho. there you go, when you get back you can get even more off your chest to her and feel even beter again

did you manage to sleep well last night or are you still getting loads of contractions?

NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 13:38

I got about 3 hours last night, so a bit better than normal!

M/W went fine, they are going to come to our house next week to go through everything in more detail but she ran through a few of the basics, most of which I already knew, but she said I can stay at home as long as it is between 37-42 weeks, so going by the scan dates, (which I might as well start going from now!) I have to put the labour off for another 2 weeks, and I have two weeks to wait till we can have some sex again LOL

Still nothing happening your end?

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 25/10/2006 18:51

glad that all went well ok, so its anti-labour vibes for you for the next 2 weeks or so then lol

nope, still nothing here...i have done another cleaning spree today (i have a problem lol) and after that i got quite a few tightenings but apart from the odd period pain and a little more mucusy stuff nothing.

lol, u and your dh are sex deprived i take it? why cant you just have sex now?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 25/10/2006 20:24

I was a 'lurker' on the TTC boards for the past 18 months.Got bfp yesterday

Its so inspiring to see so many of us on here and on a seperate thread so many of us mature ladies (ha ha I could never be described as mature but hate the word 'older')who are also blooming
Fabulous!!!

NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 21:33

Wuzz, we can't have sex because I have lost my show, it paves the way right open for all of his little swimmers to get exactly where they need to go to induce the labour, so we can't risk it until I am 37 weeks, even though the chances are fairly small, it isn't worth the risk. But on top of that we can't do anything else that will make me, ahem... enjoy it (IYSWIM?!! ) - it makes the contractions worse, and of course any regular movements my uterus makes at the moment is best avoided!

I expect you are starting to get very very very frustrated now It is a shitty time when you go over.

Congrats Chocnut, pull up a chair and chat away, when is your due date?

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 22:25

Oh, I forgot to say as well, the midwife said I was measuring big, which if that does mean the baby is big (I know it doesn't always work this way but...) if I do go into labour before the 37 weeks at least he should be big enough to not cause any health problems Which is a relief!!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 26/10/2006 10:59

lol, so your a very frustrated nat then lol.
ive been measuring big all the way through too lol. all last night (from 8 till 12) had really uncomfortable period pains and lots of pressure right down low. lots of pressure this morning too. dunno about over night as i went out like a light when i went to bed at 12 lol.

the baby is being very still today too, which im getting a little worried about

welcome to the thread CHOC! congrats on your bfp!! whens your due date??

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 11:25

Wuzz, it has been well over two weeks already, it is really getting beyond a joke now!! It is very hard not to 'forget' that we aren't allowed sometimes!!

I watched Dirty Dancing last night on DVD, it finished and I was wondering what to do next to take the time up, and I noticed that the DVD has a special feature for 'learn how to dirty dance' so picture me silly o'clock this morning, with no trousers on just knickers, no bra on just my top, boobs leaking all over the place but there was no way I was going to put my bra back on so I didn't care, dirty dancing all around the living room It hurt like hell, made the contractions go off the pain scale, my blood was pumping round so hard I could hear it, my cheeks were red, I could feel my whole body pulsing and it was bloody brilliant!! LOL I got in the shower about 4 o'clock, and got into bed and actually slept until DS came in at 8 Obviously feel like I have been run over this morning, but it was worth it!! LOL

All of the pressure sounds like a very good sign, and babies are well known to go very quiet before the birth, probably conserving their energy, so don't worry too much, obviously though if you want some reassurance, ring your midwife

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 26/10/2006 11:37

LOL!!! ive never actually seen that film. LMAO, hats off to you for having all that bloddy energy!

got the period pains and pressure again today, so i really am hoping that in the next few days the baby will decide to make tracks. i read up on induction procedures and the sweep and prosaglandins done sound too bad, but the drip thingy i will not be liking. So im thinking of pain filled labour thoughts lol

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 12:17

You've never seen dirty dancing? Even DS has seen it 100's of times!! LOL You don't know what you're missing!!

You can be sure the baby is making her tracks, go for a nice brisk walk, or up and down the stairs sideways, some people swear that has set them off Don't forget, you don't have to be induced, you can go safely to 14 days and from then on, if you really didn't want it, they will scan you and keep a close eye on the baby, but it doesn't automatically mean induction. (Although, from someone who has been through it already, I would go for an induction over being that late any day!!) Induction isn't the end of the world, it wasn't the sort of labour that I think anyone would actually want, but it can be a lot worse, c/sections, forceps, etc. wouldn't fancy that in a million years!!

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 12:19

Hahahaha NJ, what a lovely vision! I did something very similar towards the end of my last pregnancy, although I was bopping to The Jam! It does you good.

perhaps you should try it wuzzle it might start you off!

wuzzlefraggle · 26/10/2006 12:24

right, so a good idea is to keep active then is it? i'll go up and down the stairs sideways each time i go upstairs now too lol.

yeah, i dont think that i would refuse an induction. im scared of how big the baby will be if she's left in there too long. its already going to be like birthing a melon i rekon

sil keep telling me to watch that film too...and pretty woman, never seen that either. i like girly films, but i always tend to pick stuff like pulp fiction, usual suspects, lock stock etc first. i have a sicko boy brain when it comes to films lol

wuzzlefraggle · 26/10/2006 12:25

LOL lucy, hows u today?

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 12:27

It was very good, once the contractions settled down after, I felt fantastic!!

Oh and another baby born on our thread, it makes it seem very real all of a sudden She was actually being born whilst I was dancing about

OP posts:
lucy5 · 26/10/2006 12:30

I'm fine thanks. having a day of rest today. I have been running round, well waddling, like a mad woman the last few days. I am still in my pj's. Baby has been very quiet today, which is worrying me a bit.

My induction wasn't so bad last time, it really helped to have an epidural.

We had a baby born early on my thread, weighing in at 2.2lbs!

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 12:30

I'm not keen on Lock Stock, but the others are good, but I do like my girly films, cocktail, top gun, titanic I know I know it is crap, but it is good at the same time!! LOL

And I meant keep going up and down the stairs not just when you go up for something else! Swimming is supposed to be good as well.

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 12:34

We've only had three born so far, a few others have threatened, some even going to the labour ward but have been told to go home. Considering we are only a few days off Novemeber, it seems to be getting off to a slow start, and in fact the one that was born last night was actually due end of October, so that doesn't count!! LOL

One of the girls waters broke a couple of days ago, but we haven't heard anything since so I am guessing there is a forth born already.

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 26/10/2006 12:37

lucy - try not to sorry too much (easier said than done i know) and keep count of the babies movents. im having to do that today too, as the baby seems to be very quiet in there.

the only 1 of those films u mentioned that ive seen (and left the cinema 3/4 of the way through coz it wasnt my thing) is titanic lol.

i watched nanny mcphee last night. must admit, it was quite good too and it had such a lovely ending that i got a bit tearful lol. damn pregnancy hormones lol

in a little while i'll do some more cleaning and zoidburg style stair climbing im still getting tummy tightenings and quite bad period type pains too

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 12:42

I love the stair climbing! I hated Titanic too, sorry, I got told off by dh for laughing! My favourite film is The Shining, although I do like girly ones too.

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 12:43

Oh is there a certain number of movements per day or hour that I should be expecing? I can't remember with dd.
