Second labours are much easier BTW (I am hopelessly trying to get others in the mood for the next one, it seems I am the only one mad enough so far!!)

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 13:55

bloddy hell your brave!! so tell me, how is your other son dealing with being a big bro??

how many children do u want then? lol, ur mad woman, i dont think i could deal with the sleepless nights again either. i love anna dearly, but another...hmm, think id have to be very drunk i mean that in the nicest way, obv

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 14:08

DS1 is being so good, he is completely smitten with George, constant kisses and cuddles, not the slightest bit of jealousy, not that we've given any cause for it, and friends and family have been really good, taking as much time with Thomas as with George, bringing them both pressies and what nots. DH and I are being very careful to spend time with DS1 alone so he still gets the one to one attention he was used to. He has had a few unsettled bed times, he doesn't want to be the only one upstairs basically, but we seem to have gotten through that now. When I very casually sounded him out about maybe having another baby brother or sister, he replied with 'I'd like another baby brother, so we can call him George again'!!

Seriously, second babies are so much easier, I was really worried how we would cope with another newborn and DS1, but 6 weeks in and things are normal, sleep routines have established already (they never 'established' with DS1!!) breast feeding has been so so so much easier, I think it helps me that DS1 is at school, I think it will be a different story when we have the next one because I will have two at home all day, but I am willing to give it a go!!

The next will be the last, DH thinks he is getting too old now, I wouldn't want the two of them to be any closer than a year in age so we have to wait 12 months (well 10 and a half months now!!) and DH doesn't want to leave it more than another couple of years, so it will be sometime in 2008 or never really.

wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 14:15

aaaah, thomas sounds like hes a fab big bro!

im sure that i'll still be around on mumsnet to be buggin the hell out of you in your next pregnancy

how long are u goin to breatfeed for? anna was 11 weeks on wednesday and shes still being breastfed

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 14:30

I don't know really, definately till 6 months, from then on, who knows? Having said that, if he carries on growing at the rate he is he isn't going to fit on my lap to feed for much longer!! He was weighed on Wednesday at 5 weeks 6 days and he was 13lb 7oz!! He is in 3-6 month clothes, and is actually starting to get too big for the 3-6m sleepsuits!

Big well done to you as well, have you thought about when you will stop? I guess you are coming up to the 12 weeks spurt, I am not looking forward to it, we have just gotten over the 6 week one and that was bad enough!!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 14:44

wow!! big baby then anna was 11lb6 when she was last weighed at 8 weeks ish and she is just about to be in the 3 to 6 month clothing. i rekon by a week or so she will be in them,

she'll be having more injections before long i expect. i wanted to lump the bloddy doctor lol. she went beetroot and cried like mad, was very upset for the rest of the day and for about 3 days after she wasnt her happy little self.

as for the breastfeeding. i'll carry on with it till sehs 6 months, and like you, see what happens after that.

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 14:52

Ahh bless her, DS1 was never bothered by injections until he was old enough to understand, but I still hated taking him for them!

I am going to have to go and get DS1 from school, was nice to catch up though, and if I ever get round to finishing Jen's email I will say hi to her from you!!!

Hope we catch each other again soon, TC xxx

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 15:09

yeah it was great to catch up with u a bit! im on more often now so im sure we'll catch eachother on here again soon nat.

tc and it was good talking to you again xox

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 15:49

I have been and got DS1, come home, put a load of washing on (literally just muslins!!), changed the kitchen bin, fed and changed George, he is now led on the floor 'chatting' with DS1 (involves lots of "give us a smile" and "George is so nice mum" from DS1!!) Now don't know what to do with myself!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 15:59

im waiting for dh to get hopme from work so he can have the baby while i do my exercise stuff. i miss working out believe it or not so started up again properly on monday for half hour a day when dh is home

wuzzlefraggle · 19/01/2007 16:00

aaaah @ thomas, thats sweet

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 16:10

Thomas and George

Well that filled a few minutes up...!!

Working out? What's that?!!! I have been walking round the block (I live on a mountain so round the block is more like climbing Mt. Everest!!) after I drop Thomas off in the morning most mornings, but other than that I am doing nothing to shift the weight!! I don't want to diet properly while breast feeding, and I don't want to loose loads of weight only to put it all again next year, so I am just going with it
