Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJane · 21/11/2006 17:26

Yes, still waiting, the midwife has said she doesn't expect to me see me back at the surgery next week, but it was two weeks ago a midwife told me she would see me that night for the homebirth, so I am not getting my hopes up too much.

DS has been really poorly, I think he is just starting to turn the corner, so could really do with the baby staying put for another 24 hours at least!

How is it going with you? How far along are you now?

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 13:25

I thought you said the 28th, I knew it was either the day before or the day after my due date!

I have had flu for the past week, so I have been quite glad that he hasn't come, am now just starting to turn the corner and feel a bit more human so am now back to willing him out!! LOL Have lost loads more of my show and had a good few gripey contractions and things but then that is nothing new for me! Sweep booked tomorrow if I can make it to the surgery

peachygirl · 29/11/2006 19:46

Hi all Nat Jane hope you are OK I notice it been a bit quiet on here

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 20:11

Nope, it is all quiet

I have 4 hours before I officially become overdue, which seems more than a little strange after threatening to go into labour since I was 33 weeks!

Has everyone seen Jaborwockys news? (It is in birth announcements, but will leave her to give details )

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 30/11/2006 06:00

Hey everyone! I never expected to have my lo before NJ but he had other ideas. As it turns out I started to develop toxemia somewhere between my 34 week and 36 week check. So, I think my OB was seriously thinking of moving section date up. Water broke the night before my appt though. We made the classic mad dash to the hospital, got there at midnight and ds was out via emergency section at 2:45 am!

The OB peeked over the curtain in the middle of surgery and said "Glad you had decided to go fo repeat section. The cord is wrapped around his neck 3 times." It had not tightened, thank goodness as my contractions really had not started. I only had 3 or so before surgery.

Anyway, we stayed in hospital for 4 1/2 days to get my bp under control and his weight and bilirubin stable. Home since Sunday afternoon and things have been going great.

Our stats:
Kiernan Finley
5 pounds 3 1/2 oz
17 in.
born at 36+5 weeks

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 07:52

Aww JW

I am so pleased for you Kiernan sounds absolutely adorable!!

Well done

I've been calling him my magical baby b/c so many things went just right. My own OB, out of the 8 or so in the practice, was on call that night, the CRNA (anesthesia) was a woman who had also experienced birth trauma with her first child, the surgical nurse was the ex-wife of one of the docs that I sub in for (I think she wanted to leave a good impression ) and several other things.

Hope yours comes soon!

Piffle · 30/11/2006 10:23

JW and Wuzzle!
Many congrats!
NJ we're awaiting on you next honey!
This is amazing all these ttc babies!!!!!!!!!!

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 18:16

Nope, next baby news will be Lucy's.

I am becoming more and more convinced I am going to be sat here at 42 weeks waiting to go to be induced again.

Hi ladies hope you are all well especially those who have there little bundles of joy . Well I finished work last thursday left early to go to my midwife appointment she did the usual checks and then asked me if my hospital bag was packed as I was going to be sent to hospital straight onto the labour ward as I had high bp, protein +2 and loads of keytones in my urine as well as babys heartbeat not that strong . Spent a night in hospital as they where treating me for pre eclampsia but all turned out ok my bloods came back normal they still dont know what caused it but luckily baby dident have to be deleivered so as I stand im still pg and im definatley having a dd they sent me for another scan at hospital and she had her legs wide open you couldnt miss it , she has loads of hair as well you could see it floating in the water... I really do want her to come after christmas im not due untill 10th jan so please girls keep your fingers crossed for me.

Now nj what are you playing at ? I said the 28th nov not a dec baby, hope you arent feeling to down I know how awful it is when you are overdue everyone is ringing all the time it drives you nuts but so long as he is healthy thats all that matters.

Jw big congrats he sounds lovely.

NativityJane · 05/12/2006 16:08

Hope you and Anna start to feel better soon Wuzz, that can't be much fun xxx

Lota, bit of a worrying time for you, sorry hunny, it sounds like things are back on the straight and narrow now though. Take it easy, this last month or so really does take it's toll, especially when you have Aiden to waddle around after as well.

I have had a shitty few days myself, it has just gone down hill since Saturday, it suddenly hit me that by my dates I was a week overdue, started getting grumpy and fed up, Sunday DH was on call, he got a call in the afternoon, so I decided to take DS and go with him to do some shopping in the town where the job was, we walked for miles and spent loads of money, cheered myself up a bit, until we got home sat down and realised I had swollen up again. So Monday morning I rang to see if I needed to get checked out or not (I'd swollen up a few weeks before and everything was OK, so didn't want to create a fuss if it wasn't needed) also realised that no matter how much I drank I wasn't going for a wee for ages and when I did go it was just a little dribble, the midwife told me to get to the hospital, so I had to ring DH and get him home from work because the hospital is in the next town, luckily DS was in school so we didn't have to worry about him.

We got to the hospital, they checked my BP which was perfect, I couldn't go for a wee so they couldn't check that then, was monitored for an hour, baby moving fine and heart rate was fine, and it was picking up contractions, then I could go for a wee, which did show some protein and they said it was very concentrated, so then had to have some bloods taken and wait for a SHO to come and see me, we were there till 2.30!

Anyway bloods came back clear and they are quite happy that it isn't pre-eclampsia or anything, but today the swelling has got much worse and I am just feeling really down and pissed off with it all now. By my dates I am 10 days over, after weeks and weeks of contractions that have kept me awake most of the night, every night, and now this swelling, I have just had enough.

Sorry girls I am doing nothing but moaning these last few days.

Hope every one else is doing well
