Gotto and ppi good luck

Gotto tbh I wouldn't take dd in. I was one of those who'd had bad news at epu and there was a toddler in waiting room while I was sitting crying. I wasn't bothered by her being there but she was staring at me a lot, obviously interested in why I was crying. It was a bit uncomfortable and I felt very self conscious. If she could go for walk with your dh though at hospital that would be great alternative as then he's there if you need him.

My ms came back yesterday :( I felt awful!

I'm not doing nct as it's too expensive. Most of my friends didn't do it and say they weren't any worse off

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 10:59

Pip well that was fucking helpful of them!

Is there any red blood or just brown?

Brown is usually fine as it is old, but any pain i'd call the Midwife and ask for a scan.

SophieBarringtonWard · 13/01/2015 11:08

pip can you self refer to EPU? Brown spotting isn't unusual though.

gotto I see you've decided what to do but was just going to say I've been at EPU & I don't mind kids there. I have kids at home too so there is no escaping it iykwim!

Good luck to you both.

gluenotsoup · 13/01/2015 11:12

Thanks number 3, dc 3 here too. You would think I would be confident at what I'm looking for now wouldn't you? I am sure your scan will be fine, but understand the apprehension too. Think I might have just had a little movement, feels like a faint vibration, bit odd really. Can't wait for a really strong squirmy kick!

broodylicious · 13/01/2015 11:17

Oh pip, so sorry GP didn't help you much. I would say brown is ok - worrying still but ok - but if it goes to bright red, push back to your mw for a referral to epu. Make a noise, hun xx

TTCMrsF · 13/01/2015 11:19

Fingers crossed for you pip and gotto. Hope all is just a worry over nothing.

I'm v relieved now. NHS Scan was all good. Spot on dates of 13wk5days so no change in due date.

Def only one baby!! (Both me and hubby are twins).

What we saw:
Little hands and arm up by face.
Long legs
Could see brain in the skull at one point (bit weird!)
Still can see flickering Heart beating in chest.
Saw nice spinal column along back.

Had to get up and jiggle around a bit as initially baby wasn't lying right to get the side view needed for NT (got it in end 2.4 so normal range and will await blood results).

Our little bubba was moving about a bit but obviously not a early morning baby (Scan was at 8:30am)!

TTCMrsF · 13/01/2015 11:24

Thanks for fab breastfeeding advice and the welcome mister.

Quick q for you all - how do you keep track of any good bits of info / recommendations of what to buy from these threads? There's sooooo many good messages for newbies like me.

  • make a little notes page in phone?

I've been trying to back read all this groups old threads to take away any top tips. But only read them not keeping a note of anything which I feel I should! X

TinyCaterpillar · 13/01/2015 11:34

Pip that's awful. Can you self refer to your EPU? GPs can be useless, if you're worried give EPU a call Flowers

StoneBaby · 13/01/2015 11:48

pip I agree, call your mw and make some noise. Can the IVF clinic assist you?

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 11:52

I have a notebook TTC Grin

gluenotsoup · 13/01/2015 11:54

Great news ttc!

Pip- I agree with everyone else. Can you just turn up at your local epu? I can with ours, and at least see a midwife, who will then decide if a scan is needed, and then you just sit and wait your turn. Fingers crossed for you x

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 12:16

Agreed Pip hope you're ok Flowers

Overtiredbackagain · 13/01/2015 12:23

Afternoon all, good luck to everyone having scans etc today.

I feel like crap today Sad Had a funny turn on the train and thought I was going to pass out - and that was sitting down. But I had rushed to get an early train, and hadn't eaten anything, so am assuming that's what it was all about. Feel better now, just washed out and could do with shutting my eyes for an hour, but work is keeping me busy, so will go for a walk to M&S lunchtime and get some fresh air.

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 12:51

Overtiredbackagain I got locked on my shitty train this morning!!
Doors didn't open at Stratford (my OH was not impressed as he gets off there)
When we got to Liv Street it took them about 5-10 mins to open the door, door fault apparently - no shit sherlock!

I was having visions of being stuck on there forever all hot and sweaty and peeing myself!!!

Feet up Over - you should like you need to have a rest and take it easy [flower]

Pipbin · 13/01/2015 12:52

Well it's all stopped and I've got nothing done at work since. Then realised I'd left my lunch at home so I've come back for lunch.

Got back to work to find that another member of staff had his wife's 12 week yesterday! Lovely but I have picture envy.

Naturegirl82 · 13/01/2015 13:00

Feeling rubbish. Sat at my desk trying really hard not to through up. I've not had ms so hoping this isn't a bug Sad

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 13:06

Are you still going to get checked out pip?

I am home for lunch and do not want to go back. I feel so weepy today. I've just had a little cry!!

Must.pull.myself.together.

broodylicious · 13/01/2015 13:14

Something to make you giggle, ladies. Have to say, I'm sorry but it's all true!

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 13:30

Thanks broody why are we doing this again? Confused

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 13:40

Haha love it x

cheetarah · 13/01/2015 13:55

Pip I think go directly to EPU- when I was waiting for the normal 12 wk scan I overheard the receptionist talking to someone's GP and telling them in no uncertain terms no she cannot have an extra scan. EPU was a different ward/department and I was told to call/go there directly in case of emergency. Fingers crossed for you.

LaLa5 · 13/01/2015 14:08

Pip when I got nowhere with gp I phoned epu who told me to come in straight away, I would recommend doing that. Really hope everything's ok x

GingerbreadHead · 13/01/2015 14:26

pip Shock cannot believe the gp would say that! Good luck to you, I hope everything is ok in there, will just reiterate what others have said, brown blood should be just fine.
GotTo hope everything went ok for you too, thinking of you x
Fab news for others with good scan results and good luck to those of you still waiting on yours. Another week or two and we will all have passed the first milestone, hurrah!
Welcome to the newbies too.
I am pretty confident I have been feeling the baby move Grin felt a bit of a flutter the other day when I bent forward to the washing machine, then again the other night whilst trying to get to sleep, then again watching tv last night. Very strange! Can't wait to feel some proper kicks, although may regret saying that!
I'm undecided about NCT classes, it being my second baby I feel I might be the only lady there on no.2! Anyone else with children already planning on going? I always hear wonders about the network of friends you make from them and that is really the main reason I would want to go. Not sure I'll bother going to the NHS ones, there are only 4 of them and I, hopefully, should know it all already! Think it will be useful to go on the hospital tour though.
Anyone else thinking of going to Lazy Daisy classes?
Thanks for the info on Cussons lotion too whoever it was, I have been suffering terribly with dry skin all around my lower back and hips, will have to stock up on some of it!

misseskimo · 13/01/2015 14:27

TTC I use an Amazon list. And either put the item in from Amazon directly, or from another site using the Amazon add-on for chrome (lets you add items to your wish list from other stores like boots/Debenhams etc) then I add a comment to the item such as "mumsnet best buy" or "best reviewed" etc. Smile

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 14:34

Well despite having an appointment I was at the hospital for 3 hours! All seems fine though, they scanned me and baby was wriggling away (and hiding, it took about half an hour to get the head measurement!). They couldn't find any obvious cause of the bleed but told me to go back if it happens again.

Pip I know you can self refer to EPU in my area, it just means you have to sit and wait rather than having an appointment. Hope you're ok.

Ginger there was a couple in my NCT group who already had 2 children. The youngest was 8 so they felt like they'd forgotten everything! I don't think we'll do it this time round as DD is only 14 months so it feels like we've only just done them. To be honest I would love to but I don't think we can justify the expense!
