Morning all! I too been suffering with headaches, trying to drink more but like you say ge up of going to the loo!

Had the most amazing 10hts sleep though I could definitely do with another hour or two Grin had a nasty dream though - I dreamt I went to the pub and forgot I was pregnant and drank loads Shock then remembered I was pregnant felt terrible and made myself sick it up. No idea what that was about... Hmm

12+4

broodylicious · 13/01/2015 07:23

miss, in our NCT class, there was a two hour session dedicated to breastfeeding. The tutor was v open and frank - she almost put me off, she was that honest! - and covered lots of information, not just suggested feeding positions or how to do it, but also how your milk comes in, the stages of feeding and the size of baby's tummy (it's walnut sized when they're born, FYI!) I wouldn't have paid separately it because I think she covered everything we needed to know beforehand. I found our breastfeeding group at the local sure start centre invaluable in the early days, as they helped with any issues or questions and were so supportive plus they laid on sandwiches so I was guaranteed to eat lunch that day!

broodylicious · 13/01/2015 07:31

With you on the dreams want! Mine have been very odd recently, so vivid and I wake up with a racing heart!

27 hours to scan shitting it

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 08:11

misseskimo our normal NCT course also covered breastfeeding, we had a whole 4 hour morning session on it with a breastfeeding expert. As PP says it was very in depth! I don't think you would need an additional course. Definitely recommend NCT though, it was a lifeline for me when DD was born. She's 14 months and I still see them all once or twice a week, and 3 of us are expecting number 2!

Pipbin · 13/01/2015 08:13

Woken up to brown spotting. Hospital recommend going to gp. Have appointment at 10.

WantToGoingTo · 13/01/2015 08:18

Ohhhh fx for you pip

gotto good luck to you today as well

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 08:19

Good luck pipbin. Thinking of you. I have an appointment at the EPU at the hospital today at 11.20 due to yesterday's bleeding. Luckily 14 month old DD is keeping my mind off it at the moment by pretending to swim across the laminate floor!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 08:19

Thanks Wantto Smile

misseskimo · 13/01/2015 08:24

Thanks gottobe and broody I may just go with both nhs and nct then. Most people I know didnt have the option of the nhs so have kust recommended nct, but if it's free and they ever get back to me I suppose any extra help won't hurt!! I've just re-skimmed the course info and looks like your right, the last day of the course is a bf special. The one I was looking at is apparently for postnatal assistance and is "more in depth". Maybe I'll see how the first one goes and go from there...

Currently on the bus trying to ignore the nausea! Hmm

15+1 today

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 08:26

miss it depends who you have to run your NCT course but ours has been absolutely fab at post birth support, I am still occasionally phoning and emailing for advice after 14 months Blush. She runs a breastfeeding cafe so was more than happy to help with bf issues.

Yes you might as well go along to the free ones too, we weren't offered them but a few of my NCT group also went to NHS ones and I think found them useful.

TinyCaterpillar · 13/01/2015 08:28

Good luck Pip. Have you already had a scan? If you have, remember that it's overwhelmingly likely to be absolutely fine. It's very worrying though Flowers

I weighed myself again this morning and I've lost 2lb since I last weighed a few weeks ago Confused. It's so different from my other pregnancies where I had gained over a stone by this stage, I'm only up 5lb this time. Hoping this means smaller baby/ easier/ less tiring pregnancy?! I can hope!! 13+5 today.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 08:41

Quick question, what do you think the etiquette would be about taking my DD to the EPU? DH is working from home so can either look after her at home and I'll go on my own or they can both come with me, I haven't got anyone else who can have her. Obviously id rather DH came with me than going alone but also conscious that there may be people in the EPU who have had bad news and may not want to see a 14 month old running around... Am I overthinking this? What would you do?

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 08:52

Morning ladies - FX Gotto and Pip, hope you guys are both ok.

Nearly burst in to tears on the train this morning, was remembering when I had my c-section with DD and the anaesthetist said to me we will try the spinal block once, if it doesn't work we will have to put you out, thankfully it worked and I had her awake. I've had a spinal fusion since then so very unlikely to work now, that realisation made me feel really sad, although I already knew that?

Currently consoling myself with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, today's new favourite. More healthy than the Mcdonalds I guess!

Also got scanxiety, I'm up on Thursday and cannot stop worrying!

keeps pinching nipples to see if still sore Blush

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 08:54

GotToBeInItToWinIt personally I would leave DD at home, from my experience EPU can have a fair few people who have had bad news and it can be very busy. I know mine prefer you not to bring children, but of course if the need for DH to support you outweighs that, then you should do what is right for you x

TinyCaterpillar · 13/01/2015 08:55

Gotto I'm a frequent visitor to EPU and although I know they prefer you not to bring children/ babies with you if possible, they are fine if you do - I had to bring then 13mo DD with me several times in my last pregnancy as DH was at work. No one batted an eyelid, the worst part was stopping her from hurling herself onto the floor!

Thepurplegiraffe · 13/01/2015 08:58

Got when I had my mc my sister came with me and we had no choice but to take our 11 mth and 1 yr olds with us. I was very aware of it but no one seemed to mind too much and there was a 2 year old there too. Hope you and Pip go ok this morning.

BadIdeaBear · 13/01/2015 09:10

Fx pip - hope all is OK and that it's only a little spotting.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 13/01/2015 09:14

Thanks all. I think I may take them in the car to the hospital but they can go for a walk outside/in the grounds while I go in for the appt, then at least if I need him DH will be nearby and can potentially be called in.

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 09:19

That's a good idea Gotto.

What time is your appointment? Let us know how you get on x

broodylicious · 13/01/2015 09:55

Good luck gotto. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Naturegirl82 · 13/01/2015 10:04

Hope both your appointments go well Pip and Gotto

ohlordyplordy · 13/01/2015 10:06

Thinking of you both pip and gotto

gluenotsoup · 13/01/2015 10:48

Good luck today, pip and got to. Hope all goes well.

Miss, I will definitely be giving that a try, I am so itchy on my boobs and belly that I am scratching whenever no one's looking!

Hi cat, welcome! I am in a similar position to you, no fertility treatment though as I have 2dds, but dd 2 has an extremely rare and complex genetic condition. 3 miscarriages though and treatment through rm clinic meant I was also on cyclogest, and still on the 5mg of folic acid and aspirin. I still feel like I am taking it a day at a time nd not quite daring to believe it's really happened!

Everyone else, those of you who were feeling little flutters, do you feel them every day ? I think I was feeling little wriggles but none for the last few days. I think it's just because it's still so small and may have changed position, but can't help worrying a bit. I just keep poking and trying to feel something. Grin

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 10:51

gluenotsoup I thought I felt flutters last week, then nothing, but again yesterday I am sure I felt some quick movement.

I am trying not to get my hopes up too much until after my scan on Thursday.

This is DC3 for me.

Pipbin · 13/01/2015 10:52

Well the GP was a waste of time. Very nice but he essentially said 'it's all fine stop worrying, no you can't have a scan'.
