Good news! DP fixed the washing machine it was blocked solid with something white and squishy kind looked like a block of lard in the shape of a tampon (which none of us use) i figure darling ds has been playing lets put things in the machine again!

At least the machine is working again Charlee. Ours blocked up a couple of months ago, but this was a sock, which had then filtered a load of gunk through it, it wasn't very nice and boy did it smell!

Do you know what? When DH watches an actual game of football, I find it boring and get on the computer, but when he is watching Sky Sports News, which has the same thing going over and over and over again, it is f*cking annoying!!! Even most of the adverts are the same!

velcrobott · 25/10/2006 21:34

Has anyone been doing batch cooking ? Made 2 full meals for the freezer today... my freezer is getting really full up with soups and meals... it was always a dream to do this. I didn't do it the last 2 pregnancies but now I want to eat well after babe is born without having to cook every night...

NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 21:38

Very organised!!

DH is the chef in this house so we don't need to really.

velcrobott · 25/10/2006 21:49

But what if your DH is as knacered as you are in the 1st few days... I want to give DH a break too.....
He is also the main chef - especially at the moment as I am litterally a VELCRO BUTT (to the sofa)!

NatalieJane · 25/10/2006 22:03

DH won't be up most of the night, and if he does get knackered he will be able to sleep in the day while he is off work.

And I don't know about velcro butt to the sofa, I know it took a hell of a lot of effect to get it out of the bath earlier, I was stuck for a good five minutes!! LOL

I have just watched Dirty Dancing on DVD, there is a special feature on it to 'learn how to Dirty Dance', so picture it, I am here with no trousers on, so just my knickers, no bra on, just my top, and my socks great big belly protruding, boobs leaking all over my top and I don't care, rather that than wear a bra for a minute more, and there I was, dirty dancing all on my own, I feel wonderful!! Got the blood pumping round, contractions went over the pain scale for a while but they seem to have settled a bit now, my cheeks are pink, I can hardly breathe, I feel like the baby is about to drop out of my bum, and my whole body is pulsing like mad, but I honestly feel bloody brilliant Of course I will probably regret it in the morning, but who cares?!!

Sorry just wanted to share

purpleluce · 26/10/2006 07:10

Thanks ladies for the best chuckles going - NJ dancing, the title of the next/antinatal thread....realising that I have only been aquainted with the term fanjo for the past 7 days.

We too have had the gunk in the washing machine issue (shouldn't they teach that at dh school?) only discovered it by chance.

Considering merits of cleaning house bringing on shows. Hmm am not quite keen enough yet, but after the weekend probably.

And yes, started batch cooking, making healthy (anti constipation) meals as I remember that being terrible last time. Then started trying to make delia's veggie shepherd's pie and never having cooked with pulses before didn't realise how much they expanded. Had kitchen full of bloody beans - more than I know what to do with and then decided, I really didn't think I could face the output so ended up throwing a load and buying special offer fresh pasta and sauces and putting them in freezer.

DH did point out that we live within 0.5 mile of a local shop and about 3 miles of every supermarket known to man all of which internet deliver so we really weren't going to starve and I could give freezer a break! Maybe it's my version of nesting...not brought anything on though!

Will try and keep up today!

morning everyone..........well alls gone very quiet here, except for V+D and acctually managing to sleep so think my body is starting process! (just hope it isnt all wishful thinking!)

wont be on much today as am tutoring, which should be fun with dd attatched surgically to my leg half the time but ho hum!

NJ you make me laugh, glad you enjoyed yourself dancing last night.....iv got the dirty dancing dvd too but usually me and dh watch it together and it leads to rude things, so no go for a long while! lol

well next mw appointment is 1st nov, so a little while yet.......honestly really bored of all this now! couldnt even splash in the puddles with dd last night on our walk as im just too big and fat and round and in pain!!!! did spot two frogs tho (lickle tiny baby ones!!) which she thought was absolutely brill and spent ages trying to frog hop, shes so funny as she doesnt jump with both legs at the same time yet so its more like skipping!! only problem was laughing made the pain worse! oh well, nothing like a good laugh!

staceym11 · 26/10/2006 09:51

oh and as for cooking my freezer is tiny there is no way id manage to batch cook meals, would get about 3 and that'd be it!

should be ok tho as we live near family we should end up with donated food if we need it but i think that we should be alright as dh can cook (sorta) or at least if he looks after dd and the baby is sleeping i wont be too bad cooking coz he does all the housework! hehe!

CattyB · 26/10/2006 09:54

Hi there - It's a GIRL!! My beautiful baby was born at 1:10am this morning after a swift (and fairly sweet) labour. She was born at home in the pool and all is well and good in the world She weighed in at 9lb 2oz. Think her name is Katherine Rose.

I'll report back in later once I've had some sleep. Spent all night staring at and feeding her (although kept telling her what a good boy she was - having a girl is going to take some getting used to).

wow - CattyB, huge congratulations!!! What a beautiful name and what a great size!!

Lots of love to you and your family xxxxx

schmizaj · 26/10/2006 10:16

Congrats CattyB & family!! That sounds like a lovely birth story. Rest up and tell us more when you can.

Think the Dirty Dancing is a great idea, probably less painful and more constructive than me lying in bed moaning about my SPD clicks!

Loving cooking and filling the freezer, but it's so tiny can't do much more. It distracts me from all the mess in the house and the real need to clean that up instead.

Debz99 · 26/10/2006 10:41

Congrats CattyB !!!!!

Congrats Catty B although I am unbelievably .

I thought we were all systems go yesterday - had been out shopping and started getting period pains, got progressively worse as the day went on and were much stronger when i wasn't active. Decided to have a bath when DH got home which was lovely but as soon as I got out period pains started again along with back ache - this went on from about 1 til 8.30, decided to take some paracetamol and get some sleep and it all went away Felt very sad this morning, really thought things could be gearing up.

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 11:11

Catty - WOW!!! Huge contragulations to the whole family, and what a beautiful name! Hope you manage to get some rest

Well as I thought, I am in great pain this morning, feel like I had a bloody great night out, with out the drinking, singing, and throwing up bit!! But, I got into bed (after I got in the shower!!) about 4 o'clock, and have only just got out of it!! DS woke up about 8-ish so we haven't been asleep, but just lazed around a bit.

Congrats again Catty, really great news

NatalieJane · 26/10/2006 11:15

Sorry FHLH, didn't see your post, hopefully it shows that something will happen soon, don't be too disheartened, it all helps towards the big event

Delia · 26/10/2006 11:37

Congratulations Catty, am very jealous now.

Nothing going here at all thought when baby went quiet earlier in the week we might be gearing up but its gone back to wriggling like a mad thing. Am now giving hourly pep talks about how it's supposed to be comming out to meet us. looks like i'll be going over at this rate maybe i should start taking a leaf out of NJ's book and start dancing sounds like fun if nothing else!

40Weeks · 26/10/2006 11:52

Morning all. Well done Catty B - fantastic news

Feel like I have a hang over this morning only I havent had the fun night out drinking - whats going on? Have started by raspberry leaf tea also, has anyone else tried it - not as gross as I thought it would be.

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 26/10/2006 12:00

Non-pregnant person thread crash sorry sorry sorry

Just checking in on Debz as am her RL friend (bad friend I know I know.. this is not the way to find out if her labour is impending.. but I've been away.. and it's half term etc...)

Anyway, saw you were talking below about what a cervix feels like. If you place one finger on the tip of your nose and press slightly, that's what your cervix feels like. But a dilated cervix won't feel quite like that, and you're best off not shoving around up there anyway if you think you're dilating... leave that to the MWs..

Anyway sorry.. Debz I'm here.. I'm around if you need me or anything happens.. I will just desert the family if necessary!

Good luck girls!! The end is nigh.. !

Change of subject a bit, but, what is everyone doing for the new babies at christmas this year? DS was 9 months for his first christmas, so we did a proper kids christmas, but for those of us due at the end of Novemeber, if we go the full two weeks overdue, the babies won't be more than two weeks old on Christmas day, and the older ones only 2 months, so what have you all planned to do re. pressies and things?
