penguin lovely scan pic, the neck thing is probably just the angle, I wouldnt worry. 1 week til my scan... Bricking it

karatekimmi · 27/01/2015 21:49

All the scan pics look lovely. I definitely have scan envy - a week on Thuraday I have mine, it's going really slowly. I've been feeling so shitty, really tired and nauseous that I keep forgetting to not tell people. I might as well just tell everyone!! can't keep a secret

birchwoods · 27/01/2015 22:05

What's the general consensus on runny eggs? Mw says no runny eggs, other places say it's fine if they are lion stamped, ie. The hens have been vaccinated against listeria.

What do you reckon?

happygojo · 28/01/2015 06:49

Hi birchwood I am a no on runny eggs at the moment but only because I am following the nhs food guidelines to the letter. The chance of you getting salmonella from a supermarket bought egg are slim to none. It's a personal decision. Lots of women eat them throughout

toothachereturns · 28/01/2015 07:23

I love a runny egg! Grin

cattyf · 28/01/2015 08:15

I have half an hour before I leave for my scan...had hardly any sleep, a mixture of nerves and excitement. Keep everything crossed for me!!

sianihedgehog · 28/01/2015 10:58

Runny eggs fine if Lion marked - the hens have been vaccinated against salmonella and the risk is vanishingly low.

happygojo · 28/01/2015 10:58

Good luck cattyf I hope everything goes well. Despite having had an MMC last time, the thing I seem to be most worried about at my scan is wetting myself! Or being so desperate for the loo that I can't take anything in. I had to have an abdominal scan when I was a teenager to check for PCOS and I remember it being actually painful when the US tech pressed down to take a still!

Oh and funny story, my bf nearly outed us when we were parking the car at work. Some of our colleagues have been away since we got our new car at Christmas, which is a VW touran (think 'Soccer Mom' and 'seats 7.... comfortably!). Anyway they were asking us about it, it is actually purely coincidence as we didn't choose the car as such but my mum wanted my small one so we swapped. But they said 'Oh do you have something you want to tell us then' and we froze before my BF who cannot lie gave a undertain 'noooo'. I am not sure whether they picked up on it though.

Hopefully if bubs is as they are supposed to be then I can tell everyone in a week.

cattyf · 28/01/2015 11:06

Everything looked good on the scan, a little bit earlier than we thought so they've asked me to go back in 2 weeks for another one. Baby was wriggling around and did a full on jump ??

Dozygirl · 28/01/2015 13:34

karate I'm the same. Practically everyone knows because I can't help telling everyone.

Great scan photo catty and yey for getting another one.

I have good news at last. Decided just to ring the scan department (bullied by my work friends) just to see if they knew the date it would be and I am in luck because there was supposed to be a nhs pay strike tomorrow which has now been cancelled so they had slots all tomorrow that needed filling up so I now have a scan at 9:20 tomorrow!!!!!

Am now both excited and scared at what they'll find! Really hoping for good news like all u have had so far. I'll be 11+6 according to LMP but I know I ovulated slightly later in my cycle so not sure how much of a difference that will make. Will find out tomorrow. At least if it's too early it means I'll get another one in a couple of weeks heehee.

Dozygirl · 28/01/2015 16:13

Slight panic coz dp couldn't get out of important meeting but rang scan and had afternoon slot still available phew! Thought I'd hot excited for nothing then.

otter32 · 28/01/2015 17:27

penguin that's probably just the way it was "laid". Clear pics!

So exciting to see all these scans!

RainbowTortoise · 28/01/2015 17:49

Lovely to see all the scan pics Smile

I am 11 weeks tomorrow and I'm still waiting for a scan date. Hoping I will get it through the post soon!

Guyropes · 28/01/2015 18:27

Rainbow... Phone them up! You need some notice in case dp can't get out of a meeting (like dozy dp!)

Pleased to see all the good scan pics!!
Good luck tomorrow Dozy, good work on getting the scan tomorrow!

I have had an exam today so that has kept me distracted, now I just have to wait till Friday.....

Rikalaily · 28/01/2015 20:51

Lovely scan pics ladies! Can't wait to see little my little bean again on the 3rd, if all is well I'll add myself to the due date list. 11+3 today, feeling less sick and have a little more energy, hoping it continues to improve.

Emb540 · 28/01/2015 21:07

Hey I had my scan yesterday!! All was fine and only one!!!! Whoop!

I'm out on my dates again, by 7 days (that's all 3 now out by 7-10 days I must ovulate kift) but he/she was wriggling away in there Smile

Emb540 · 28/01/2015 21:09

Here he/ she is Smile

ChanceBeAFineThing · 28/01/2015 21:14

Lovely that all the scans and pictures are coming thick and fast now.

I've started pregnancy yoga and my 14 week bump was the same size at some of the 20-25 week first time mum bumps Blush. Anyway it was lovely to do pretend exercise and have some me time for once.

This week I mostly have wind. A lot of wind Blush Good luck to those waiting for scans still.

toothachereturns · 28/01/2015 23:18

yeeeah for all the healthy scans! Grin

Awful day at work today.... raft of redundancies announced. We were all just sitting waiting for "the email" asking us to go to the boardroom. In all, 6 from my dept. of 20 were put on the at risk list. Sad Sad I am glad my job is safe as I'd struggle to get another one with a bump and I'd get no mat pay! I'm the main earner so I've been worried sick for days now. Confused

Anyway.... 12 days until my scan and then I can tell my boss the good news! Grin Hmm

Dozygirl · 29/01/2015 07:12

Oh tooth how worrying for you! So glad you are safe but sad about the ones who weren't so lucky. Think dp meeting today is to discuss future of the business he works for. He was supposed to be getting a major pay rise in April and now he's saying they might be closing it. I just hope he's not left jobless either. He doesn't seem too concerned about it though.

happygojo · 29/01/2015 08:40

All these redundancies are a nightmare! I work in oil and gas so it is especially worrying at the moment. Both me and my other half work for the same company. There are only 2 people who work in my position in the department so I am hoping that will work in my favour. I have told my line manager and HR about the pregnancy but not higher management due to my MMC last year I want to wait until after my scan.

Officially you can be made redundant without mat pay up until 25 weeks, however, if they know you are preg and make you redundant BEFORE then and it is not due to the entire business closing. Then they would be forced to answer some very interesting questions and unless they can prove that the fact that you are preg played no part in their decision, they still have to pay your mat pay.

I am the biggest earner between me and my oh unless he gets some offshore time which is a little thin on the ground at the moment!

daisysunshine2 · 29/01/2015 09:35

I've just told my employer... Was so scared about it as I'm currently on a course that finishes a month after my due date and wasn't sure if they'd let me continue but they are and I'll just make the time up after, she was so so lovely! Such a huge weight lifted from my shoulders, feel like I can get properly excited now :) I'm also the main earner so I feel the worry of the redundancies that's worrying you all :( as I don't really have a contract of employment so won't receive maternity pay from the company but do at least get leave and get to finish my course after and then find a job!

nannynome · 29/01/2015 09:54

I am panicking over telling my work too, am having to leave it as long as possible and hide bump as I am not even out of probationary til the beginning of March. I know they can't legally do anything but it is worrying me, especially as this is the first job I have really enjoyed for a long time. I am the biggest earner between us and we are having to go into debt a bit to cope with the mortgage etc whilst I am on Mat leave, we will get it sorted on the flip side though. Am just hoping work will honour the childcare vouchers over my maternity leave.

Cake to everyone worrying about jobs, redundancy and anything else that causes worry.

AliOh · 29/01/2015 14:49

I've made a facebook group for anyone that wants to be added now! Think I will have to add you as a friend first (you can delete me after Smile ) just either send me your facebook email or add mine ([email protected]) Grin

Loving all the scans pics! Sorry to hear some of you worrying about redundancies, it's rubbish, I'm still trying to get my head around the fact im not going back to work, I should be due back next week! Not likely I'll get a job now is it haha Grin
