Think my 'movement' is gas from all the constipation remedies.

Anyone using/going to use compression socks?

They dont seem to be as available now. Cant remember when i used them from last time.

broodylicious · 01/01/2015 18:20

Eugh. Vile day. Huge row with my parents and sister. Drove an hour to get to them, then boom! Happy effing new yearAngryConfusedHmm At least I'm blessed with a beautiful daughter and a handsome husband to keep me blowing my top totally.

Want to see what this little bump is doing, just to cheer me up a bit. It certainly hates everything apple as I'm violently sick after anything of that food variety! Really fancied a Granny Smiths earlier, stopped at tesco, ate it straight away on long drive back home but just made it in the door before bleurgh... Not least pleasant I've thrown up but still yuk.

You guys did so well at staying up late!

Overtiredbackagain · 02/01/2015 00:35

Scan tomorrow morning - finally but feel sick Hmm

Thepurplegiraffe · 02/01/2015 07:28

Sorry you had such a bad day Broody, hope today sees as improvement. How long were you sick for last time. I was regularly until 23 weeks but the nausea never went away and then was sick again towards the end so I guess I am expecting more of the same.

Good luck for today Overtired.

Number3cometome · 02/01/2015 09:27

Good luck over!

Broody the only was is up!
The sickness is awful, but is supposed to be a positive sign, when is your scan?

I've got two weeks until my scan, feels like ages, but I must be patient.

My bump is noticeable now, after my scan I may put a 'bump' pic up all being well Smile

Pip the trapped nerve feeling certainly feels like movement, I had that a lot with DD about 12-13 weeks.

The wind / butterfly feeling is exactly what it feels like, little bubbles in your lower abdomen.

Loads of people say "Oh it's too early to feel anything yet" but I disagree.

Especially as I felt my daughter at 12 weeks (was sitting quietly in the bath) and this feeling continued getting stronger and stronger as she grew (until it was full on boots in the ribs haha)

Munching a cheese and onion sandwich for breakfast, what baby wants, baby gets Grin

WantToGoingTo · 02/01/2015 09:59

1 week til my scan now. Bump becoming more bump shaped every day. Luckily can still hide it with leggings an baggy top but not sure how work clothes will fare on Monday! Hope the tiredness starts to wear off soon a I am back at work next week and have an hour commute each way Hmm

Good luck today over!

Question for all of the ladies,

Does anyone feel like they are breathing hard or a bit out of breath more often? Usually I am really quite fit but OH keeps commenting on how I am breathing hard.

It's making me paranoid, but I do actually feel a bit out of breath?

Thepurplegiraffe · 02/01/2015 11:06

I am all the time, whenever I do anything remotely strenuous, but I have been pretty under the weather the last couple of weeks. I am hoping it improves.

Aretepetite · 02/01/2015 11:07

Good luck for tomorrow Overtired enjoy Grin

Broody just concentrate on the good things in your life Flowers you know you also have all of us here too. if you want to talk, feel free x

Dh wants to go for a 3d scan. Since I was 1 of the 1st with 12 week scan, deep down i'm thrilled to get another chance to see little bean Smile
I think to get the 3d one I have to be further than 23 weeks !! We will have to decide if we want to wait or have a 2d instead. The other reason is that we can bring the kids along too. NHS stipulates 1 adult in the scanning room with you. In Scotland anyway. Between watching all the new scan pics appear and a general anxiousness I have scan fever Shock

I have felt a couple of flutters over the past 2 weeks. I can say it has been definite baby movement on at least 2 occasions. The 'flutters' I have felt quite a lot at night in bed are either that or wind Blush. I am so bloated this pg that it is extremely uncomfortable and I am alternating between feeling all the positives of the 2nd trimester and the negatives of the 1st Hmm

Hopefully now the festive period is over I/we can all relax.

My close friend was taken into the Marie Curie hospice yesterday so I spent a few hours with her. She is nearing the end of a brave battle Sad I think this maybe taking it out of me rather than the pg ! My plans today will be set around getting an hour or 2 back up at the hospice.

I keep forgetting which day it is and have to think about it Confused which is due entirely to the holidays I may add Wink

Got my haul from John Lewis too, vests, sleepsuits, socks, hats and bootees. I got a few bundlers, they are like nightys and great for night time bum changes :) I am really wanting to feel movement so I can rest in the knowledge that all is ok, this pg has made me v.impatient :)

Ive got loads too do and little energy , ha, the joys and I wouldn't change it.

Hope you are all well and good and have lovely weekends xx

LizziTea · 02/01/2015 11:11

Number3 - I am the same. A couple of times it's felt like asthma but most of the time I don't think it is - I am just breathing faster than normal. Walking upstairs does it but embarrassingly walking across the room can set it off too! I know I am unfit at the moment, after doctor advising me not to walk much, but this feels beyond that! I understand it's common in pregnancy and not something to worry about.

Number3cometome · 02/01/2015 11:11

Aretepetite So sorry about your friend Flowers

I am getting scan greed too! My last one was at 7+6 and I am so keen to see that my little kidney bean is ok. I wanted a private scan but OH said no because of money, so I will wait for my NHS one at 12+5

Aretepetite · 02/01/2015 11:14

sorry for the long post ladies Confused I must make an effort to get on more often !

Number I am finding myself short of breath often. I mentioned the bloating earlier which for me is definitley contributing to the breathlessness. However I also get breathless when I am not feeling bloated. Something to do with the oxygen going to the placenta I think, nothing to worry about though x

Aretepetite · 02/01/2015 11:20

Thank you Number

I really have scan greed Blush There might be a sale on at one of the scan clinics Wink

My 20 week one is Feb 19th so actually not that long :)

Hope your feeling a bit better re breathlessness Flowers

Littledragon13 · 02/01/2015 11:29

Morning ladies, I hope you and your bumps are all doing brilliantly.

I just wondered what essentials I should be buying clothes wise for baby, this is my first baby and I don't want to go over the top buying things that will go unused

Bustherb · 02/01/2015 11:44

Arete sorry to hear about your friend Thanks

Is anyone buying bits in the January sales? I'm 13 & 3 and purchased my first baby item last night. A baby monitor with the breathing thing and a camera, it was on offer. Can't help but think I'm jinxing things even though I can't help but buy things when I see a bargain! For anyone who will bottle feed, mother care are doing the tommee tippee starter set for £65 instead of £150.

Xx

JoY007 · 02/01/2015 11:46

Same here, also feel breathless, and I am pretty fit or was, been away from gym now for 3 weeks.Hmm

Pipbin · 02/01/2015 11:47

I've got total scan envy. I must be the last one on the thread to have a scan 19th January!

Littledragon13 · 02/01/2015 11:47

bustherb I'm 13+3 too! I've bought a few items of clothing but that's it, my mum and MIL are buying bits (Moses basket, travel system etc) this weekend but I've asked them to store them at their houses because I feel like I'll be jinxing things by having them in the house if that makes sense?

Pipbin · 02/01/2015 11:49

Very short of breath here too. I used to run three miles in the morning but I've been advised against it. I could do three miles without getting really out of breath, now I can't get up the stairs.

Number3cometome · 02/01/2015 11:49

Littledragon13 Babygrows, and sleep suits (maybe 5 of each),
pack of socks, jacket (will be summertime so no snowsuit needed)

Little hats incase evenings are chilly (just the light cotton ones) and that really should see you through the first 3-4 weeks.

You don't need shoes as they cannot walk (I hate seeing babies in brand new Nike trainers, it does no good for their feet!) rant over and assuming you will have some light blankets for out and about.

Babies really do not need to cost much at all.

Question - is anyone here no buying an expensive buggy?

I have seen people talking about 700+ quid buggies.

This is number 3 for me, so I have done the whole Mama's and Papas travel system for a small fortune and I won't be repeating that as it just wasn't worth it.

We were thinking McClaren buggy (£70 or whatever) with the appropriate head rest and a baby carrier for the first few weeks (and of course a car seat)

I know I sound like a cheap arse.

Pipbin · 02/01/2015 11:49

I've not bought anything. Don't think I will do until 20 weeks.

Bustherb · 02/01/2015 11:50

Ah little we're due date buddies Grin yeah I know what you mean, feel like I'm jinxing it but some of the offers are really really good. Are you showing yet? I'm not Hmm xx

Bustherb · 02/01/2015 11:52

Number I'm not sure what pram I'll buy yet, there's too many options to choose from and it's giving me a head ache lol. Any advice on prams would be good though xx

WantToGoingTo · 02/01/2015 11:54

nimber I get breathlessness particularly first thing in the morning or when been walking lots. I am however unfit (did exercise regulatory for couple months before pg but that gone by wayside now!) and have asthma (but don't take inhalers, onl when in ill) I put it down to pg bringing asthma back but dunno.

I would also be interested re clothes for baby. I have on my list atm 5 each of bodysuit bad aleepsuits in newborn and 0-3m sizes. Would that be right? Got given scratch mitts . How many hats? Also howany of each item an what size? Atm I have bought a 0-3m set which includes sleepsuit bodysuit bib and hat. Don't want to buy too much that I won't use.

Littledragon13 · 02/01/2015 11:56

number3 I don't want to spend a fortune on a pram, everyone has told me to get a travel system. Our car isn't particularly family friendly so it's really going to depend what works with the car. We have a budget of around £500 max kindly paid for by my mum.

busterherb sometimes I can see a slight hint of a bump then other times I think I might have just overdone it with the food at Christmas!
