Just trying to catch up with everyone's posts! Is anyone else using the mumsnet app on their iPhone? I only ever used to log in via the internet but I downloaded the app so I can access it quicker and easier.. Which works.. But everytime I come onto a thread to view comments, particularly this one as it has so many comments, I have to keep scrolling down to see the newest posts as it starts at the top! So annoying, and it's only going to get worse as the comments build up, ha ha. Squatting, I just read that you and banana toast were 24 weeks yesterday? I was too Grin What will everyone be doing this NYE? I.. and hopefully we (as in my partner, too) have so far planned to do sweet nothing! Although any other year we would perhaps visit a local pub and have a few drinks, this year we have both sort of said how overrated it can be. After this dreadful year (minus the pregnancy of course) we just want to get into 2015 now! Besides I think I'll perhaps be sleeping before I see midnight! So let's see if he sticks to his guns, or whether he gets tempted to go out. Hmmm. X

You can change the settings so that the most recent posts appear at the top.

Lauren82000 · 30/12/2014 08:37

Thanks stunt. I think I may invest in one even though I was going to go with a stretch wrap. But for an extra £20 might as well get one that will last a bit longer. Can I be cheeky and ask how much you sold yours for? Just so I know how much I'd get back so I can justify it to DH Wink

RL20 · 30/12/2014 08:38

And Cinnamon very sorry to hear that, how awful. Big hugs x And welcome lucy! x

Lauren82000 · 30/12/2014 08:41

RL20 if you go to the plus at the top right corner, below add message is flip this thread. I tend to use the app even though it's annoying at times simply because it's easier to check on my phone when I'm at work. Smile

RL20 · 30/12/2014 08:42

Thanks StuntNun, I'll have a look at that now

cinnamongreyhound · 30/12/2014 08:57

Thank you all for your kind words!

Welcome Lucyandpoppy :)

I used the mobile site RL20, seem to be able to do everything you can do on the normal one. Can copy and paste, post links etc and can hop to the top by tapping the top bar with address in or to the bottom
By tapping add post.

RL20 we're going to a friend's for dinner and then they are having a party - will try and stay until around 1 or 2 maybe, want to try and make the most of seeing friends before baby comes.

I'm so annoyed though as we'll have to stay at a friend's tomorrow night as our bloody neighbours are having a NYE party so if we stay at ours we'll be up all night listening to them shrieking. Our neighbours are complete bastards, they know I'm pregnant but are so noisy. Cannot wait until we move! Angry

Oh that's not good Brixton! And then I suppose because it's NYE you feel like you can't really moan! Hmm, feeling a bit Bah Humbug this season and I'm never normally like that. Roll on January 1st I suppose! X

BrixtonBunny · 30/12/2014 09:19

RL20 exactly!! Hmm Yes roll on the new year.

Actually though, this year has been pretty amazing. Went on some incredible holidays, got engaged, decided to TTC then got pregnant very fast, and made progress on buying a house which we originally didn't think we'd be able to afford as we live in London! So I can't complain about 2014 at all - though 2015 is obviously going to be pretty spectacular! Grin

Lauren I sold it for £72 but had to pay Paypal fees and postage out of that so I got about £67 for it.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/12/2014 09:54

We moved ours to beds in grobags FizzyBubbly to keep that similarity and try to restrict movement and then got a duvet a while after. I was terrified with ds2 as he was is still a stroppy, strong willed, tantrumy monster at 2 1/2 but he did really well with it. A few runs around and being returned and he figured he was staying put no matter what so did. He did start coming up to our bed during the night which ds1 never did but easily manageable. Ds1 never got out, he'd yell at us if he wanted anything and even wet the bed some mornings because he was too lazy to get up and go to the toilet!!!! Xmas Angry

TheBooMonster · 30/12/2014 10:32

fizzy We've got a cotbed, have taken the outside side off (it's against the wall on one side) and replaced it with a lindham bumper because DD kept bodily throwing herself out of the cot, when bump needs the cot when hell freezes over and the third bedroom is turned into nursery we'll get DD a toddler bed but probably keep the bumper on for now because she's the wiggliest wiggly bum!

Wineandchoccy · 30/12/2014 10:50

Had my 25week midwife appointment this morning all ok, heartbeat sounded more train like today it sounded like a horse at 16 weeks. I met the lovely midwife that everyone raves about in our town she is lovely so I hope she is on duty the day the little one decides to make an appearance.

28 week appointment and anti d booked and 31 week appointment and whooping cough vaccine booked, MatB1 form filled in so I'm feeling very organised Grin

I'm about to clean the under stairs cupboard and kitchen now, nesting early!

BananaToast · 30/12/2014 11:03

For those looking at the Ikea Poang chair, we have bought this one which may be worth a look: www.amazon.co.uk/SoBuy-Comfortable-Rocking-Recliners-Poly-cotton/dp/B00HLDFWQQ

It's cheaper than the Ikea chair but similar design. What I like is it comes with an integrated footrest that you can adjust so doesn't need a footstool. The one thing that isn't so great is that it doesn't rock as much on carpet as I'd like, but it's comfy and looks good and will definitely do the job.

Welcome Lucy!

Nice to have another date twin RL Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 30/12/2014 11:20

Did you have to book a blood test too Wineandchoccy? I have to have the results of my 28 week bloods back before they'll give me antiD and it has to be at the hospital Angry

AnniaFausta · 30/12/2014 11:26

So sorry to hear your news, cinnamon - thinking of you and your family.

Lucyandpoppy · 30/12/2014 11:32

Thanks everyone :)

Quick q - have just ordered a moses basket which we plan on using at bedtime for as long as poss but what covers do you use with it? Do you use a grobag or cellulsr blankets or something else? First timer here so clueless lol!

AnniaFausta · 30/12/2014 11:42

We're just staying in for new year, not least because it'll be nice to have an 'at home' new year properly as opposed to the chaotic disappointment it was last year just after we moved. I have just taken delivery of a half-bottle of bubbly too, so I shall look forward to a sneaky sip!

Good to know I'm not the only one starting to notice more movement - I'm getting quite a bit of activity now, although thankfully if the baby is enjoying 3am acrobatics it's not yet big enough to keep me awake with it.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 30/12/2014 11:51

hellooo to the 2 (I think) new people!

RL20 · 30/12/2014 12:01

Wineandchoccy - you're not the only one who's nesting early! If i had access to a dustbin lorry I would happily park it up outside and empty most of the contents of the flat into there. I've been constantly trying to sell, taking things to charity shops, and binning things! Which reminds me I have lots of that to do today Hmm

Banana, yes it is! Have you had your 24/25 week midwife appointment yet? I have mine tomorrow and completely forgot what to expect as it seems ages ago I last had a midwife appointment!

Annia, I'm glad I'm not the only one that will be staying in this NYE. I'm really not feeling as though I want to be around lots of drunken merry people when all I want to do at the moment is curl up and hide away! Plus, am I the only one that keeps forgetting what day it is? To me, tomorrow is just the middle of the week, so I'm getting confused with everything, and the opening hours of shops etc! We visited a shopping centre near us on Sunday just to grab a quick something to eat, and it had just gone 5pm and the shops were shut. I thought "how strange, it's only the 28th of December, not a special day I wonder why they've closed early". I completely forgot that it was a Sunday! Grin

BananaToast · 30/12/2014 13:08

RL I had mine yesterday. Was same format as the 16 week appointment: urine test, blood pressure, felt my belly and listened to baby. She also measured my bump for the first time and gave me my MATB1 form.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/12/2014 13:32

Forgot to write earlier, sorry your medication isn't helping in the way you'd hoped Mel0drama, do you have an appointment soon where you can discuss it?

Wineandchoccy · 30/12/2014 14:09

Cinnamon I am having my 28 week midwife appointment at the hospital combined with my anti d, midwife said I will have bloods taken but I think that's just the routine ones.

My kitchen looks like a bomb has dropped, I've thrown 2 bin bags of rubbish out already and I seem to have more carrier bags than tesco's!

RL20 · 30/12/2014 14:37

Banana, at my last midwife appointment she never felt my belly or even looked at it for that matter. And I didn't get to listen to the heartbeat either (not sure if it would have been to early at the time? Can't remember how many weeks I was at the last one, before 16 weeks surely). So I'm looking forward to this one actually!
Wineandchoccy, me too! 2 bin bags out the door and after many loads of clothes washing done, still lots to do Hmm I must of became really lazy over Xmas! X
