Saw bump move from the outside today and DH saw it too. Freaked me out a bit but was lovely at the same time.
although I promised I wouldn't I ended up buying more baby stuff in Asda today. It was in the sale and it will get used, got 2 outfits but in 9-12 month sizes and 2 cotbedmattress sheets. This is the reason I stick to online grocery shopping!

Happy v day Squatting Grin

Ebwy and Lauren sounds like it's probably best to take it easy.

StuntNun we were given a BabyBay cosleeper cot for Christmas which I think is also German in origin. We put it together today to have a look and it seems really good. Not as portable as some of the other options so probably not ideal if you're wanting one to double as a travel cot, but it seems a good cosleeper.

Lauren82000 · 29/12/2014 19:36

Have any of you ladies got a POÄNG
Chair from ikea and used it as a nursing chair? We have a similar one without the rocking bit in DDs room but the seat cushion is knackered so looking for a suitable alternative. I just don't like the look of the purpose built nursing chairs they look like little fingers can get trapped in them easily.

We are going to ikea on Wednesday after my mw appointment, so hoping I can make my mind up about whether to get it or not.

PenguinPoser · 29/12/2014 19:51

Wow boo that's scary about the lady in your Bounty group. Hope she and baby are ok. My friend delivered at 27 weeks and although baby is ok now it was a really rough time for them, I'm feeling a bit anxious about getting beyond 27 weeks I think for that reason.

Ebwy hope they settle down soon.

I've been getting what feels like booted down below all afternoon Confused it's a bizarre sensation!

Went to mothercare sale yesterday and bought a mattress and sheets for the cot at fairly bargain price, love baby shopping it's almost guilt free because it's needed! Wink

StuntNun · 29/12/2014 20:39

Thanks Banana, I've been looking at those ones too. We already have a cot and a travel cot but gave away the Moses basket after child number 3 so I only need something for the first six months. I wonder why co-sleeper cots are so much cheaper in Germany?

Thanks squatting. I got round the arm rests last time but using a v shaped pillow so I didn't find them an issue. I only used the chair for bedtime anyway, as once I went back to work DH had 1 night a week he had to get DD to sleep without mummy milk and I'm convinced using the chair helped her get used to it. Wink

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 29/12/2014 21:57

we're going to have me and the two little ones in our double bed, and fiance on the floor in the kids' room on a mattress again tonight, we'll put the beds up tomorrow. No sense in over-pushing things.

MW tomorrow, so will be reassured that all
We have two of those Ikea chairs, but due to boob-size I'll need a pillow alongside me for BFing (or to lie down, ideally) so won't be using them to nurse in. Never really considered having a specific chair for it, tbh.
You can buy padding from Ikea for them, though, if that's the concern.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/12/2014 21:59

No advice on the chair sorry Lauren82000, but on bh I didn't have any with either of my other pregnancies and have had this time so try not to worry!

A friend had her baby today, only a week early but he's only 5lb and she had emcs, not heard anything else so hoping they're ok.

I'm all doom and gloom today so will make post short what with the above and my scan tomorrow I'm not feeling very positive and dh's dad was found dead today when sil couldn't get hold of him on the phone so called the police Sad he will have to have an autopsy before we can do anything as he wasn't ill at all and given that he took and overdose 5 years ago they're thinking suicide Sad

BananaToast · 29/12/2014 22:15

Oh god cinnamon I'm so sorry to read that. Thinking of you and DH and wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow Flowers

Lucyandpoppy · 29/12/2014 22:18

so sorry to hear that cinnamon (((((((hugs))))))

this is my first post on an April bebe's thread - have tried to post a few times before on other threads but always end up accidentally closing tab or phone runs out of battery so lets see if I finally manage to post lol

I'm 22+6 with DD. Just booked my NCT classes which is awesome (and also got a crazy discount because I'm a student) and as we get closer to 2015 it suddenly feels so much more real. Had a water infection (no symptoms though only dx through a urine dipstick) and been on anti-biotics for the last week. antibiotics gave me what is probably like my 10th bout of thrush in this pregnancy!

BonjourMinou · 29/12/2014 22:18

Oh cinnamon I'm so sorry to hear that, that's horrible, what a shock for you all Flowers

Hoping 2015 is a much, much better year for you. xxx

Oh no Cinnamon that's awful. Thanks

Oh and good luck with your scan tomorrow hopefully your little ones kidney has improved since last time.

Anyone heard about a Manduca baby carrier? They look pretty good nice and versatile.

PenguinPoser · 29/12/2014 22:31

So sorry to hear that cinnamon what an awful shock for you and your family Flowers Flowers

BonjourMinou · 29/12/2014 22:34

There's a thread on nursing chairs in chat at the moment Lauren, if you're online.x

Wineandchoccy · 29/12/2014 22:50

Oh no Cinnamon I'm so sorry. I hope your scan goes ok tomorrow and 2015 is a better year for you Flowers

25 week midwife appointment tomorrow.

ChickenMe · 29/12/2014 22:58

Sorry about your FIL cinammon.

I'm after that Ikea chair too. With a footstool. I want to get it soon. I'm finding it hard to get up off of deep sofas and prefer seats with straighter backs.
I've seen the bump move too Hiding. It makes me laugh out loud. The baby has been really active over Xmas, esp at night!

27+2

TheBooMonster · 29/12/2014 23:02

welcome lucy make sure you get some activia or those little yoghurt drinks to help you bounce back after being on the antibiotics, I was on them a couple of weeks ago after a UTI and felt rotten.

cinnamon so sorry to hear about DH's dad, how absolutely awful! At 5lb your friends baby should be fine, just diddy. Good luck on tomorrows scan!

So sorry to hear about your FIL Cinnamon, it seems to be one thing after another for you at the moment. Thinking of you and your family Thanks

Welcome Lucy!

Good luck with your scan today Mel, hope they get to see everything this time and that seeing your boy gives you the boost you need

Think I'm getting braxtons, as with DD I notice my bump feeling tight and stretched but there's zero discomfort.

Starting to think about beds for bump now. Original plan was to get DD out of her cot bed into a toddler/single bed before the new one comes so that they can have the Moses basket then into the cotbed. Was hoping to make the transition now to get DD settled and happy in her big girls bed, but now I'm not so sure. We changed her from grobags to a duvet 2 weeks ago and although she loves her new duvet it seems to excite and it's been a nightmare getting her to fall asleep. The thought of her being able to get in and out of bed on her accord scares me now and I think I'll be causing myself unnecessary stress. Think we'll have to get a second cot but with you lot bouncing ideas around it's got me thinking I want something else instead of the Moses basket and standard cot!

BrixtonBunny · 30/12/2014 08:11

Cinnamon I'm so sorry about your FIL, what an awful thing to happen. Losing an in-law is such a sad situation, and I think it's doubly hard as you have to look after your partner and their grief, whilst also dealing with your own sadness. Please look after yourself, and I hope you can get some RL support from friends. Also good luck for your scan today, will be thinking of you. ThanksThanksThanks

Also good luck misty and Mel for your scans today.

Re: chairs we currently have a STRANDMON armchair and footstool (from ikea - where else Wink) and though it doesn't rock it's quite comfy so might see how I get on using that.

Lauren I loved my Manduca. I sold it about a week before getting my BFP and even went so far as to contact the girl who bought it to ask if I could buy it back! I found mine super comfortable, you can do front, hip and back carries and it comes with a newborn insert so you can use it from when baby is 8 lb. I used mine until my toddler was two years old but they can go up to four years old so if you get on well with it then you'll never need another carrier. It's just so quick and easy to put on with two buckles to do up so it's great for if you're nipping in to a shop or on an aeroplane to carry your baby until you get your pushchair back (mine always fall asleep just as we're landing!) I bought a Madame GooGoo for my toddler and it's definitely not as comfortable and easy to put on as the Manduca. Other similar carriers are the Ergo and the Lillebaby, both of which John Lewis sell if you don't want to order online but remember you need an insert for smaller babies.
