Yuk! Poor thing.

I've got sooooooooo much cleaning to do, it's obscene!! ARGH! .......

muminamini · 12/10/2006 20:19

Hello all

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Captain Dippy - I still can't get over mine!!!
Welcome to all the new ladies and gad you are feeling a bit better weeonionx
I feel shattered today - hardly slept last night as have horrible head cold and I hate having to sleep with my mouth open. I think I did too much today....cleared my wardrobe out (mammoth task - 2 bags of clothes to recycle!) and made cakes with DS...and had the first day of potty training which was less than promising....did manage one wee on the potty - but lots of wet Noddy pants - god love him.
Just had a big shepherds pie for tea and I won't be long out of bed...where I am now convinced I have been feeling flutterings when I am drifting off.
Did anyone watch Eastenders - poor Minty.

emmymummy · 12/10/2006 20:26

Just wanted to say good evening to you all and hope it's not bringing too much sickness and tiredness. Hello to all the newbies, can't believe how many of us there are now - funny to think that by the end of April we'll be responsible for lots of new little ones.

GGF - so pleased for you and your little pink bean - I love having a girl. I never wanted her to be pink & girlie, but her choices and opinions have taken over and it's pink, pink, pink all the way now as far as she's concerned. When people look in wonder at her cerise patent leather shoes I just tell them that she chose them and mummy's taste no longer gets a look in!

CaptainDippy - how are you feeling? I'm so nervous about the scan tomorrow that I know I won't sleep....will be thinking of you tomorrow afternoon. xxx

muminamini · 12/10/2006 20:47

Good luck tomorrow too emmymummy and anyone else who has a scanxxx
Off to bednow!

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow.

Ds has got chickenpox, so have been on phone to mw panicking, and luckily I'm immune. Talk about panic stations. Just when the tiredness was easing off, me and dh have had sleepless nights, trying to console our little soldier.

Btw glad to hear of all the pink beans although I can't imagine having one myself. Does that sound strange? If it does, then I shall blame it on hormones and sleep deprivation

night night all

IsabellaMoi · 12/10/2006 21:46

Welcome to the new ones! I won't try and list you all because I'm sure to miss someone out - but it is great to have you joining us.

1becomes3: I'm very excited that we have another twin mommy on here! I would secretly love to have twins...although who knows if I could handle the work. I hope Oogs (other twin mommmy if I have the name right) comes back - she hasn't posted for a long time.

GGF: lovely news about your little pink bean! Congrats!

Stats:
me: 29
dh: 37
due date: April 11th
1st bean
live: London

Good luck with all the scans everyone. I'm looking forward to hearing if you have twins or not, Captain Dippy

Oh - and GO VLAD!! Isn't that the most amazing story of tenacity! We're all cheering for you Vlad - hang in there.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 12/10/2006 22:51

Just a quickie from me to wish luck to all those going for scans tomorrow,as I know there's a few of you.
I've been to a christmas card party tonight and I'm now zonked and ready for my bed.

elkiedee · 13/10/2006 00:38

I posted on an earlier thread a few weeks ago, got back from US holiday yesterday, and went for my dating scan today! It made it seem much more real, the radiographer was screwing up his face and frowning and I was worrying about what he was seeing, but finally he turned the screen towards me and I could see someone there moving, soooo exciting (yes, this is my first time).

I'm now waiting anxiously for my test results (as I'm 37 and had to decide on tests immediately at 12 + 2 by both due date and scan). I'm looking forward to seeing my mum for lunch tomorrow, then going out with her, my partner and my little sister for a meal. Just hope I can eat something without getting into problems, I've only been sick 3 times but feel it all the time.

At least my partner is thrilled and very good at looking after me and being sympathetic. He's managed to sneak off and tell far more people than I've dared to yet, but I'm going to have to let people know soon - my boss, his boss, my dad, my stepdad, my dad's second wife (my parents are divorced and both have also split up with the spouses that they were with through my childhood so I have a bizarrely extended family!)

I'm not quite sure whether I'm jetlagged or pregnancy tired, but I'm up late because I'm not entirely back on London time - San Francisco is 8 hours behind, Chicago and Madison the week before are 6 hours behind us). But I now have to go and try to get some sleep before I prepare to face work tomorrow, I thought it would be better going back just before the weekend than on Monday.

Hope all those scans tomorrow go well,

I've read a lot of your news but can't remember enough details to comment.

CornflakeKid · 13/10/2006 07:25

Morning everyone.

I def have movement which is great - just seem to notice it in evenings when go to bed - but is lovely.

A palm reader and an accupuncturist have both told me am having a boy now - think am destined to be overpowered by blue critters - we decided that we weren't going to find out at the 20 week scan but as it slowly (very slowly) gets closer I am beginning to waiver....! Peoples comments about the sex are starting to bug me already - maybe need to tighten up my shield defences!

The palm reader (a friend) thing is a bit dodgy as it looked at the number of lines on my hand and how deep the lines were - but as the sex is dtermined by the dad - how can that be? Is it just a destiny thing with palm reading? And was she telling the truth??!!!......

Working today...must get a move on - ds1 can go to school in fancy dress today so no need to thnk about uniform & finding a shirt that hasn't been covered in spag bol marks!

Good luck for scans today! thinking of you xxx

bubbaOOOOOOO · 13/10/2006 08:28

Yaay-great news on the movements CFK.

Don't know about palm reading but I'm very much into Psychometry readings and used to have them every few months. The last reading I had was a while ago(before I had ds)and I was told I would fall pg with a boy in the Sept. She had no idea we wanted children and that we'd been ttc for 7 years, but sure enough in the Sept I found out I was pg.She was actually a medium I'd never been to before and haven't been again since, but she was very good and told me other things she coukdn't possibly know,so I think there's definately some truth in it.There also many other who are in it just for the money and are useless though-I've been to loads!

Hope you all have a nice day-I'm off on a "blind date" to meet another mum and her little boy today and for ds to round around a soft play place-should be fun.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 13/10/2006 09:53

SOL-Which doppler have you got? A friend is looking to get one,but doesn't have a clue which to get.

geordiemacminx · 13/10/2006 10:21

I have one from anawiz.. it costs £20 a month to rent, but if you havent returned it by the end of the 5 months its yours to keep. Its really good as it has a digital display of the heartbeat on it so you can see when you have baby's heart beat instead of your own. They sell for about £100 so I plan to put mine on ebay when I am finished with it?

emmymummy · 13/10/2006 10:54

Morning - just back from the scan, very relieved as all OK and only one bean in there. Nuchal test came out as 1:952 - same risk as a 25 year old apparently.

Good luck for this avo CD......

sallycinnamon · 13/10/2006 10:58

That's great news emmymummy! Its a big relief isn't it?

CaptainDippy · 13/10/2006 11:03

Morning all!

Dippy Household still buggy and illy and crappy!! DD's poorly and snotty and grumpy, but mummy and daddy reasonably ok, I guess. When will it end??? Going to take DD's to drs later as DD2's nose is stupidly sore and bleeding now and DD1's fingers are peeling loads - have been told by a friend it could be Scarlet Fever or Scarletina (sp??) - Argh!!!?

V.excited about my scan later - it is at 3.20pm (so probably about 4.15pm ish knowing our crappy local hospital's sonography dept!!!! ) Nervous too though - just so convinced they are going to tell me something mad ... like it's twins or something.... Thinking of you emmymummy - you will have had yours by now (little bit ) Hope it went reeeeeeally well - do stop by later and let us know how it was!!

@ your DS having the dreaded pox runnyhabbit - glad you are immune though, hope the wee fella feels better soon!! My DD1 got Chicken Pox the DAY I got DD2 home from SCBU!!!!! I was terrifed - fortunately, I was breast-feeding and she got immunity from my milk and never got it - despite desperate attempts from DD1 (rubbing up against her etc - I think it was retaliation!!!! )

Hope your "Blind Date" goes well Bubba!!

Nice to "see" you back elkiedee!! Hope you had a fab time in the US. Glad your scan was good!

Apparentely they've just stopped doing 12 week scan at our hospital - "they don't have enough time" for them apparentely!!!! glad I "got in there" quick!!

CaptainDippy · 13/10/2006 11:04

GREAT news emmymummy!! My turn next ........

Bramshott · 13/10/2006 11:04

Oh god, and I typed a really long message earlier, but it seems to have vanished

Basically, what I said was - spent last 24 hours vomiting, not sure if ms or a bug - yuck! Seems to have gone now though.

SOL - I'm in Alton, near Basingstoke, so a little way from you I fear.
AngeG - I remember you saying before about your premmie - I wonder how far on we'll get this time?! Something in me just can't believe I will get to 40 weeks! I have to go and have my cervix measured soon, and then again at 23 weeks, as well as having swabs taken so they can see if I have any infection.
Weeonion - sorry to hear you are still feeling down. Thinking of you and hoping you're getting some support.

Emmymummy - good news on your scan - was that at the RSCH? I'm going there, and they're pretty good I think.

CaptainDippy · 13/10/2006 11:08

Awwww, poor you Bramshott!! Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I had a premmie last time too - have to have my cervix measured and swabs at various stages too. Do they know why he/she came early?? How early were they? DD2 was 4 weeks early (induced) (due on June 19th, came on May 20th!!) and was 5lb, bless her. Had to be in SCBU for 1 1/2 weeks. For me they think it was cos I had a Strep B infection - can't imagine going to 40 weeks this time either, which is partly why I've not posted on the May thread (due at v.end of April) - Also, don't think I could cope with trying to keep up with 2 Antenatal Threads!!!!

liath · 13/10/2006 11:10

Hi everyone, congrats emmymummy & all the best to everyone havign scans.

Am off work today as dd is excluded from nursery for a week because of her hand foot & mouth. Bit of a pain although I only work one day I feel I've let them down especially as dd is now completely well in herself. Managed to get some housework done at last so that's something.

Hope things are getting better in the Dippy house of horrible infections and everyone else who's ill (hasn't someone's dd got chicken pox?) or still suffering from the dreaded MS.

Booking yesterday went fine and no problems with potentially having a homebirth. They're apparently doing quite a few these days! I've also been appallingly middle class and booked a doula for the first 6 weeks after having the baby but I wish I'd done it first time around instead of trying (and failing) to cope on my own.

CaptainDippy · 13/10/2006 11:13

Good for you liath!!!

Runnyhabbit's DS has the dreaded pox!

liath · 13/10/2006 11:13

X-posts! Urgh, scarlet fever - not what you need CD, hope you get a nice long spell of no illnesses for a bit. It sometimes seems never ending with all these bugs.

emmymummy · 13/10/2006 11:37

Hi Bramshott - you're not too far from me! Went to Frimley Park Hosp (where I had dd) - the care there is very good. Waited all of 2 mins for my scan this morning! Was quite disappointed as was just settling down with a magazine .

Poor CD, Bramshott & Liath on all your bugs and illnesses. Really hope things improve soon.

Feeling very very vomity this morning.....when oh when will this horrid horrid ms end?

Bramshott · 13/10/2006 11:46

CD - I only got to 33 weeks with DD when she suddenly popped out one night with no warning! I hadn't realised they mean Strep B type thing when they said 'infection', but maybe that's what they're looking for? I have the same consultant I saw last time which is reassuring, as I have blood clotting problems as well as the prematurity thing. As I said, I somehow can't quite think I will get to 40 weeks, but then I'll probably be the one posting here at 42 weeks and begging for induction!!

Hope everyone's ill little ones are feeling better - it really is the time of year for bugs isn't it!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 13/10/2006 11:47

Thanks GMM-I just told her about Anawiz. That sounds like a great service you get from them.

Congrats on your scan Emmymummy and good luck to CD and anyone else later on today.

CD and Liath-Hope your DD's are feeling better soon.x

My "blind date" has been cancelled-think she bottled out,ha ha.

Should really be having a nap while Ds is having his,as I'm shattered, but as usual,I'm too busy on here. Also put Ds's name down for pre-school this morning-my baby is growing up soooo fast.

Bramshott · 13/10/2006 11:48

Crossed posts emmymummy - I've heard good things about Frimley too, and have a friend who went there. Glad they were speedy for you this morning. The scan team are quick in Guildford, but the ante-natal clinic always runs really, really late, so I try not to take DD with me if I can possibly help it!
