Greengirlforever · 11/10/2006 15:58

Duchesse - Well we both have 13 year old sons (I respect your hatred of everything American !), both live in East Devon, both expecting in April (mine were 18 days and 12 days late....) we have GOT to meet up sometime!

It feels odd to be expecting again (and a girl to boot) when my oldest boy is 6 foot, size 11 feet and just generally huge....

muminamini · 11/10/2006 16:03

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo
BIGGEST GRIN IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IS PLASTERED ACROSS MY FACE!
I'm just back from my scan - it was wonderful - I can't tell you how happy I am and my Mum - well I've never seen her so excited! lol She kept jumping up and down and pointing at the screen - the sonographer was lovley thankfully and handed out the tissues as me and my Mum blubbed away with happiness.
I finaly feel like I can get excited!

GGF - I have goosebumps all over at your wonderful news - a pink one! AHHHHHHH

Welcome to new ladies today and thanks for all the nice words re DH's blown tyre. He is away in the lakes so I have a night on my own (hurray no snoring!)

On the sex topic....up until 5.30 am today I hadn't had it for 10 weeks and the only reason I gave in was cos I felt guilty that he was going to be working away and hadn't had it for so long . I woke up early thinking about the scan and then started thinking that I really ought to do it out of duty at first but it was actually enjoyable once I got going (sorry).

Have had cramping after so not doing it again for a while - I figure it gives me another month at least! lol

MIAM - 12+5 EDD 20th April Confirmed today (30)

liath · 11/10/2006 16:06

I'm 34, DH is 34
Dd is 19 months
We're in Scotland.
Birth plan - at home fingers crossed.

Have had a miserable day with drooling unhappy dd . I think I might have to reward myself with some kind of takeaway as I really can't be *rsed to cook. Hmmm - chinese or indian? What do you all reckon?

1becomes3 - I think you're our first twins, how exciting & hope the MS settles soon.

It's my midwife booking visit tomorrow, at least DH is off work so I can leave dd with him. Will have The Homebirth Chat!

liath · 11/10/2006 16:09

OOh, congrats MIAM! Great news about the pink GGF baby too. My middle sister was told the sex at her 12 week scan - I had no idea they could tell that early but apparently it's possible in specialist centres. Fat chance of that up here if we don't even get a nuchal .

sleepingbag · 11/10/2006 16:13

me:29
DH:27
DS:2.2
Due:16 april

1st scan on friday yipee!!

1becomes3 · 11/10/2006 16:17

So geordiemacminx does this mean that you have any step children from dp's?

Me I have dss1 18years dss2 16 years,it's odd cause they are closer to my age than dh is. dss2 has taken the news of twins very badly and will not talk to dh
duchesse I'm with you on the whole shorthand thing half the time I don't know what it's supposed to mean. (i'm guessing on the whole dss=darling step son!?!)

bubblez · 11/10/2006 16:19

Hiya all,

OMG it has been soo long since I last posted on MN that you've started a new thread!!!

How is everyone?

MIAM congrats on your scan and what lovely news GGF now you can do the pink thing. (if you like pink)

Ok recap
ME: 24
DP: 27(this month)
DD: 2.10
EDD: 9th April
Location: Enfield

Welcome 1becomes3 and congrats on your double bump news, there is another april-er expecting twins OOOGS i think her name is you should keep an eye out for her..

Well belly def bloated and full looking , got a cold and sore throat off my DD and have been busy trying to sort out a school for her to go to nxt sep. Other than that all is well.

Hope everyone else is good.

14+2

duchesse · 11/10/2006 16:24

Green Girl- my 13 yr old is about the size of a hobbit, and refuses to tell people he's 13- he still says 12. In our family we grow late though, so I'm not surprised he's still small.

And for the record, I don't hate all things American- just forum shorthand and foreign policy!

Bramshott · 11/10/2006 16:26

How's the new thread got so long in only 3 hours? I've been offline a lot today as my broadband connection doesn't like the rain!

Me: 32
DH: 33
DD: 3 (will be 4 before April)
Due: 8 April (but DD was 7 weeks early)
Live: Hampshire
Having baby in Guildford as they know me and my complicated medical history from last time! Doubt I will be let anywhere near birthing unit or midwife-only care.

1becomes3 - look out for ooggs who's having twins too (can't remember exactly when).

geordiemacminx · 11/10/2006 16:28

1becomes3, yep dsd15 and dss 12, we are actually scheduled to visit them this weekend and tell them as we thought it best to wait til 3 months after previous m/c. Am getting a bit anxious about it to be honest - I thought that with them being older it might be ok, especially since they live about 4 hours away but obviuosly that didnt work in your case... I really hope its ok. Do you think its dss that has the problem or wicked ex wife?

OP posts:
Bugmum · 11/10/2006 16:42

GGF - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fabulous news.

And twins on here - blimey!

Oh, and a vote for which takeaway was wanted? I vote Indian; the thought of msg makes me want to throw up, despite my ms being sooooooooooo much better.

Oh yeah, recap:
Me: 40
DP: 45
DS: 20 months (bless)
EDD: 26th April, so that makes me 12 weeks today.
Nuchal scan next Weds, so not really getting excited until (IF) that suggests things will be okay

1becomes3 · 11/10/2006 16:44

Well wicked ex wife is no help at all she was terrible when I had dd turned into a really crazy bunny boiler cause she had always wanted a girl!
This time she has been no help saying that she can't blame him for being upset as I have broken up "their" family (ummmmmmmmm excuse me they have been divorced for 12 years!)
I hope that yours goes well Girls seem to take the news better than boys they seem to be excited about babies than boys are.
I'm sure everyting will be fine with you pregnancy I had dd after an mc.

hensden · 11/10/2006 16:46

Wow there's so much to catch up on, welcome all you newies, congrats on all the happy scans, and a little girl for GGF .
Very little sex going on here not like last time I was like a rabbit.. so the bunnies bit might turn out to be quite apt..
CaptainDippy peeling fingers after really bad sore throat is a sign of scarlet fever. My DS had it a couple of years ago the fingers and sometimes toes peel when they're getting better. Hope she's all better soon.

Must go stinky kitchen calls.

Me 39
DH 37
DS 8
DD 3
Due 8th April
Live Kent

Hugs to all
Hensden

Sexonlegs · 11/10/2006 16:51

Hiya ladies, and GGF I am delighted for you. Great news.

Stats from me:

me: 36
dh: 36
dd: 3.6
Due: 28/04
Live: Eastleigh, Hampshire

Bramshott, where are you in Hants?

Feeling rough today - thought ms had subsided, but feel really faint and sicky - yuk!
Glad I am not the only one not having sex. I do feel guilty but at the same time I feel so tired/sick, that cannot bear the thought.
MIAM - glad your dh got some!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. xx

geordiemacminx · 11/10/2006 16:53

1becomes3.. hopefully. dss is only interested in football so all should be ok.. until they go home and their heads are filled with "dad wont love you as much now" and they are a family that you wont be part of"... I'm closer to the kids age than dps' which dsd didnt mind at first cos we went shopping together then wicked ex wife filled her heaed with rubbish and told dp that she was struggling to "come to terms with it??"

Right thats my rant over with for today!!

OP posts:
CornflakeKid · 11/10/2006 16:57

Congrats MIAM - really pleased for you.

Ooggs is still about - bumped into her the other day on mn somewhere asking about double pushchairs!

I have managed to eat 1/2 a sloppy guissepe pizza and an apple - things must be picking up.

I can't have a homebirth either - quite like idea of being near pain relief/theatre - both of mine had weird heart traces before/during labour - so being in hosp is really reassuring.

Work tomorrow....I have just 30 days left until I go on maternity leave! (only work 1 1/2 days)

Did anyone see the teenage mums programme last night - I thought the mum with the twins was excellent but the future of Charlottes daughter troubled me a bit. I hope she gets her life sorted out.

Greengirlforever · 11/10/2006 16:58

Well ok Duchesse - maybe I can admit to liking The West Wing and Lost, but APART from that....

Geordie Mac - my DS1 was, to put it mildly, underwhelmed when I told him about bump. I think he thought along the lines of yet another ankle-biter to take attention and money away from him... Although actually he is completely brilliant with DS2 and loves him dearly. I wouldn't expect your DSS's to be leaping around with joy, but you never know!

And as for me loving pink - not exactly. I am not the most girly girl in the world, was a complete tomboy when I was a child, and am, tbh, slightly in a state of shock as to what I'm going to do with this little pink bundle!

1becomes3 · 11/10/2006 17:02

Let me guess your a couple of years younger than wicked ex wife!?!
That's where all the bitterness comes from

rise above it sweetie it's her problem not yours

Bugmum · 11/10/2006 17:04

Cornflake - I saw it, and I cried. Of course. I thought the couple with two SN children and one NT were just fabulous, really admirable. And I'm sure the twin mum will do fine, as will (probably) the really huge family. But I was very worried about the others, or rather the babies belonging to them

Greengirlforever · 11/10/2006 17:11

Indian for me . Korma, Naan, Onion Bhajii (sp?). Mmmmmm

Although. I think I fancy yet another bagel with smoked salmon & Phillie for supper....

Greengirlforever · 11/10/2006 17:12

Aargh! And I keep forgetting - well done and many congrats on your wonderful scan MIAM!

AngeG · 11/10/2006 17:26

Hello all wow this new thread is so long already.

Haven't been around for a few days. Glad all the scans went well. Welcome newbies.

GGF - congrats on your pink news! Maybe she will be a tomboy too!

1becomes3 congrats on the twins. I too have step children and an age gap between me and DH. Sympathy here for you and Geordiemac.

Just had my first proper midwife app today. All good heard the heart beating. Found I was quite nervous before I went in, so my blood pressure was up a bit, otherwise all ok.

Sexonlegs - I'm in Locks Heath - Southampton, used to work in Eastleigh.
