Morning everyone

Huge congrats to Doobydoo on imminent wedding! and huge congrats to CD on scan - so pleased for you both

DH gone to golf so home alone with 2 x ds already at war! DS1 has a toy motorbike and is watching motorbike racing on tv and ds2 doesn't - ds1 won't share and ds2 has cried 8 times in the past 25 minutes....and nothing will console him!

We are going to have a pj morning! Maybe some music to calm them down a bit

Just going to put my deposit on a cottage in cornwall for next June - quite exciting really - there will be 5 of us!

Have a nice day everyone xx

sleepingbag · 14/10/2006 08:57

Hi everyone

congrats doobydoo on wedding, very exciting.

had scan yesterday, one beanie and a cyst on right ovary. woman scanning really freaked me out at first as she didn't say anything about baby, just asked if i had any right sided pain, as it is quite big at 5cm,i haven't. Anyway they will see if it has got bigger at next scan..then i don't know what they do....hoping it will just go.

CornflakeKid · 14/10/2006 09:18

Sleepingbag

Is the cyst she saw the one the baby lives on until the placenta takes over or a cyst actually on your ovary? I would go and see you GP anyway and ask more questions. When I had my scan with ds1 they said I had a cyst and didn;t explain it at all and I cried for days til someone else told me about the placenta change over thing.

Big hugs xxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

CaptainDippy · 14/10/2006 09:26

Agree with CFK, sleepingbag - ask more Q's - so glad beanie is ok - what a for you - some sonographers are sooooo thoughtless. When I went for a scan at 34 weeks after my waters went with DD2, the sonographer sat there for aaaaaaaagggggeeeeeess going "mmmmm, mmmmmm, no, mmmmmm...." before she told me anything. Apparentely everything was ok, she just couldn't see much cos I didn't have a lot of fluid!!!!

sleepingbag · 14/10/2006 15:11

thanks captaindippy and cornflakekid... she said she thought the cyst was on my right ovary, think i will go and see gp...have been looking on internet and freaking myself out.

runnyhabbit · 14/10/2006 15:51

Congratulations Doobydoo! Can highly recommend marriage. Maybe have a Christmas wedding? all winter white, with sparkles and glitter, and you could have everything christmassy......dh says I look at the world through rose tinted glasses, can't think what he means

Please try not to worry too much sleepingbag, although its easier said than done. Write all your questions down, then see the gp/mw. I know the internet is a wonderful thing (eg mn!) but sometimes you can get conflicting information which adds to the panic. Best to get it from the horses mouth iyswim

Am off now to start getting ready for night out with dh - its our 3rd anniversary tomorrow and ds is with nana tonight. Just know its going to take me ages to get ready because not a lot fits at the moment.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends x

bubbaOOOOOOO · 14/10/2006 21:47

Sleepingbag-No advice on the cyst, but I have heard of cysts during pregnancy,so it may not be as uncommon as you think.Wishing you all the best.x

Runnyhabbit-Hope you had a great night out.I had a night in watching the X-Factor.

I can't believe I actually felt the baby move today for the first time.Had 2 salmon and cucumber bagels and a large slice of cheesecake-he/she obviously enjoyed it as much as me.

Sexonlegs · 15/10/2006 08:50

Hiya ladies. Congratulations doobydo, that is really lovely news.
Sleepingbag, hope you are ok, and that you get some answers to your questions soon.
runnyhabit, hope you had a lovely evening.
I too had a night in front of the telly - x factor and ant and dec! What an exciting life!
Felt really sick again last night, and havng reached 12 weeks yesterday, I stupidly hought that may be the end of it! I think dh thinks that I am going to miraculously feel better overnight - he thinks I am milking it - cheeky git! He should try pregnancy!
Anyway, hope everyone is well, and catch up later. xx

CaptainDippy · 15/10/2006 09:14

Well, we're all slowly improving in DippyLand, but we had an absolute NIGHTMARE last night - the clutch on the car went in the middle of the motorway on the way home!!!!!! Managed to get onto the hard shoulder and call for help. Motorway Maintenance thingy were fab - the two men were soooo sweet (we had to sit out on the hard shoudler with the two DD's and wait for assistance ... v.cold ) We couldn't afford to get the RAC or AA to come and rescue us (I spit at those nice cosy adverts they do on TV, IT'S NOT REAL!!!!!!) In the end, DH's parents tailed back, bought a tow rope and came and found us. They towed us back home, bless them and we're all home safely - PRAISE GOD!!!!!

runnyhabbit · 15/10/2006 09:57

CD - What a nightmare! but thank god you're all ok.

We had a lovely evening - but as I was driving, I made sure we got home in time for X-factor results not suprised the group got knocked out. They're unusual, but I wouldn't buy their records.

Not doing much today - still full from last night (had HUGE king prawns in a garlic and white wine sauce mmmmmmmm) and I still stink of garlic but so does dh!

weeonion · 15/10/2006 10:02

god captain - what a nightmare! glad you all made it home ok. were the kikds scared or do they now thinkof it as an adventure? you aint had aint easy this pg????

claricebean · 15/10/2006 10:14

Hi all, glad you're ok CD. What a nightmare.
Well we're planning an easy day today. A relax before next week of parties (all DDs, not mine!), antenatal appointments and blood tests - yuk, and general life looking after three small people. Still, DH back in six days

CornflakeKid · 15/10/2006 10:19

Morning folks - I recorded the results bit of the x factor - so off to watch it now! Then swimming and dh has 'tidy' head on so thin we will do house stuff and gardening!

Claricebean - wow not long now - you must be so relieved!

Have a nice day everyone xoxoxoxoxoxox

Greengirlforever · 15/10/2006 17:38

Hello ladies.

CD what a nightmare and thank god all is well !

I too had a night out last night - a surprise arranged by DH as he will be away for the next 2 and a half wks. Gorgeous Thai meal but just can't eat as much as I usually do - what's that about??? Shopping today, got 2 pairs of trews I am comfy in, not maternity, but I was desperate and they should last for a couple of months, fingers crossed, and then on the way back down again afterward IYSWIM.

Friend over for dinner tonight and we are cooking lamb - mmmm my favourite (I have so many).........

Saw results of X Factor last night - pleased as I thought the girl who stayed in has an amazing voice.

CaptainDippy · 15/10/2006 19:46

Awwww, sounds like a lovely, romantic night GGF - I can't stuff in as much as I usually do either. Poor you with DH away for so long - [[[hugs]]

Thank you all for your kind words - was v.scary - glad it is over now!!!! The children were fine weeonion, they are a bit young to see it as an "adventure", but weren't too phased, just v.v.v.tired today, bless them. Yes, this PG has been rather "eventful" so far - hoping things calm down a bit now, but still to find out about a moving house date and maternity unit called today to say that my iron level is 8.9 (v.low) so lots of iron tabs and laculose for me - yum!! >

Claricebean - not long til DH is home - yippppppppeeeeeeeeee!! Excited for you!!

CFK - Your DH has a "tidy head" - v. of you!!!!!

runnyhabbit · 16/10/2006 08:45

Morning all

Need a bit of advice/reassurance. Have been having period type cramps last night and this morning. They are not all the time, and are not that painful. More than anything, they're uncomfortable. I'm not bleeding (thank goodness) My rational head thinks it might be trapped wind. Has anybody else had anything like this? I'm 14+6 today

geordiemacminx · 16/10/2006 08:49

Dippy - my levels are low too - I got a thing called Spatone from Boots... they are little sachets of iron water - 1 or 2 a day mixed with orange juice. They dont taste of anything and the dont make you constipated? Apparently there is as much iron in one of the sachets as in 8lb of brocolli!!!!

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 16/10/2006 08:52

Yep - there's been lots of us on here talking about crampy periody type pains - would definitely go with the "trapped wind" diagnosis - Also could be yuor body stretching to accommodate little one and adjusting to all those hormones and little womb dweller etc. I've been having them on and off since week 6/7 - if you are not bleeding and the pain is not unbearable, I wouldn't be too worried - sounds perfectly normal to me honey!! If you do get worried, just pop into your EPU - they won't mind at all!

CaptainDippy · 16/10/2006 08:54

Thanks for the tip on Spatone Geordie - I got the same tip yesterday and might have to invest in some cos this consipation is pretty . Grrrrrr!! Three children under 3 here atm, so gotta go ........

runnyhabbit · 16/10/2006 09:17

Thanks for the reassurance about the cramps. Typical, as soon as I start talking about it, they go away

My iron levels were really low after DS birth. Mw recommended a herbal remedy called Floradix, which comes in a liquid, or tablet form. Little bit on the pricey side (think it was £10 bottle) but worth every single penny, and didn't make me constipated either

Sexonlegs · 16/10/2006 10:13

Morning all, and hope everyone is well.
Runnyhabit, as Captain Dippy has said, quite a few have had period type pains. I had them this morning, and rushed to the loo for a pant check! Obssessive behaviour I know. I think for me it is just stuff stretching, and also the fetus moving about a bit. As Captain said, assuming you have no bleeding and the pain isn't unbearable, you should be fine.
12 + 2 today, and feeling sooooo sick. At work and really don't want to be.
Anyway, hugs to all, and catch up later on. xx

CaptainDippy · 16/10/2006 10:34

12 + 4 today - just thought I would post that!!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 16/10/2006 11:55

Snap.

muminamini · 16/10/2006 12:06

Happy Monday Ladies
I've just been catching up on you all after the weekend.

Doobydoo - fab news and congratulations!!
Captain Dippy - great news about your scan and glad your clutch experience all turned out ok - what a nightmare!

Had a really lovley weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed my first ever Football match - found the atmosphere amazing and DH is really pleased and has already booked for us to go again! He also took me out for a lovley meal to my favourite restaurant afterwards (he had told me we were just going to the pub for tea) so it was a lovley surprise, we just enjoyed having a day together to ourselves (DS was at grandma's).

What is going on - I am 13+ weeks and my MS seems to have gotten worse! I nearly had to stop on the way home from taking DS to nursery this morning to throw up...it's awful...not impressed!

Apart from that I am sure I have been feeling little wiggles in my tummy recently which is reassuring and I am on dry day 4 with DS and his potty training - it so far has gone miles better than I expected - true test will be today as he is at nursery - took 4 different changes just in case!!

Have the day to myself and just feel shattered so going to put my feet up with a hot vimto and watch Fern and Phil - oh the luxury!
x

nuttygirl · 16/10/2006 15:00

Hey all,

Geordie & CD - thanx for the PJs tip, decided to go for the Primark option cos we don't have much money at the mo. Sorry to hear about the car trouble CD, I'm terrified of something like that happening, so glad everything was ok.

Had DH's bro and his wife visiting over the weekend, which was nice. MIL getting on my nerves...she wants us to visit next month (it's a 4 hour + drive each way to see them for about a day - during which time MIL & FIL complain about everything my DH & I do and point out all my faults). We've told them we'll go if I'm feeling ok to travel that far, but they seem to think I'm faking it. Was v pleased to chuck up on the way to lunch on Sunday so at least DH's bro & wife know i'm not faking it.

MIL said on Sun I'm not independant enough...apparently I don't go places on my own often enough... pretty hard to do when DH takes car to work, bus makes me throw up and it's a long uphill walk into town which leaves me out of breath...

Sorry for the rant guys but it's doing my head in...I'm worried I'm going to tell her exactly what I think of her with these pg hormones flying around!!!!
