Morning all - DD's in bed so catching up on stuff ........

Awww pesha, poor you with your chocolate problem - I go off sweet stuff each time I am PG, which is bizaare - hoping your choc problem wears off soon!!

Bugger to your headaches SOL, hope they ease soon!!

.... and bugger to your illness MIAM - thank you for your kind words about ear infections, I appreciate the sympathy - ear goop seems a bit better today, which is good!

Hi littlefrog - love to "see" you! As far as I am concerned 1st Trimester ends at 12 weeks - so I'm in the 2nd Trimester too - shocked myself this morning by realising I am now 13 + 1 - speeding by so fast!!

All the best with your hunt for a pink rake for DD (how sweet) - I completed your mug yesterday, so I've had to send it to a local friends for firing, so should be with you next week - hurray!! Sorry it has taken a while ......

Lots to do - DH and I are going away this w/e on our own!!!! V.v.v.v.v.excited!! Need to get stuff together so I don't forget anything .....

Bramshott · 20/10/2006 11:39

Thanks Runnyhabit - I will check those out. DD has not previously been the world's best shopper, so I will have to be quick and strategic so it's great to have a tip! She does claim she is looking forward to today though, and wants new tights, as well as the pink rake (to help me with raking up the leaves - ahhh!) so we shall see. I have rosy visions of us both sitting in the squashy chairs in Starbucks eating sticky cakes, but it doesn't usually turn out like that!!

CD - Hope you have a fantastic weekend!! I will get all excited about my mug now (but really, whenever you're done - no rush!)

doghouse · 20/10/2006 15:11

Just to quickly reply to those of you who advised me - no blood since tiny bit found on Weds. MW said if not bright red and only a tiny bit then not to worry but if any more or it changes to red then to take myself along to A&E.

Have decided not to worry and am now down to only an hourly pant check!! ... just seems a long time now til 20wk scan but trying to be sensible.

Have a fab weekend everyone.

16+3

weeonion · 20/10/2006 16:00

Just off for w/e with DH (yippee!) so won't be posting til Sun eve / Mon morn - Hope all have fab w/e guys!!

Sexonlegs · 20/10/2006 19:58

Hi all, hope everyone is ok, and I hope everyone who is heading off this weekend/week has a great time.

Well, I had my nuchal scan and blood test. I won't get the final result until Tuesday, but the Consultant said it looks from the nuchal that there is a v low risk and that I would have to have a very strange blood test result to put me in the high risk category.

So, a relief, as I was soooo nervous.

Anyway, watching Corrie and welling up at Ashley's speech, so need to head!
Big hugs xx

muminamini · 21/10/2006 08:48

Ooh have a lovely weekend weeonion and CD!!! and anyone else who is going away and doing exciting things.

We have decided to close the doors and have a mini hibernate this weekend - our whole family just needs to recharge I think!

Poor DS - just had a terrible hour and a half of him panicking over doing a poo in the potty...you would have thought he was in labour bless him. He was so distraught I decided it just wasn't worth it and put the nappy on him. Oh the joys!

Just seen on the calender that it is Divali so Happy Divali to anyone that is celebrating today.

I have a real problem - I'm only getting a few hours kip as wehn I get up to the loo I can't get back to sleep for DH snoring. I keep kicking him and waking him up but 2 mins later he is at it again. I made him sleep downstairs the other night it was so bad but then felt guilty but last night he was back in our bed and it was so bad I swear if I'd have had a knife handy in some deluded moment of sleeplessness I would have stabbed him!
I need to get ear plugs as I ended up lying with my fingers in my ears...up till now I refused to go and sleep on the settee but I am seriously thinking it is my only real option as we have no spare room and I don't want to sleep with DS.

rant programme terminating

Have a lovley saturday everyone!
Oh and SOL - great news about your scan

MIAM 14+1

Hi everyone, its been so long since Ive posted, sooo much has happened on the thread. My broadband has been playing up, and I have been spring cleaning (energy has returned and nausea/sense of smell has vanished- thank god!).

Duchesse - I'm sorry to hear your news. You sound so brave. Best of luck for the future, take care.

Hello to all the new ladies. April is going to be a busy month! We have 5 people at work who are all due within 5 weeks of each other, there must be somethjing in the water!

Roll call cos I missed out at the begining of this thread:
Me 33
DH 29
Due 4.4.07 with No.1 - 16+4?
Live near Stourbridge, West Midlands

I am beginning to feel abandoned!!! I still have not met the midwife or had my booking in appointment, which I don't think is very good especially as this is my first baby - as I don't know what is 'normal'. I did call the midwife a week ago to say I hadn't heard from her and she said it would be 4-6 weeks after I picked up the maternity booklet from the surgery that she would be in touch. Well its now 5 weeks since then and I still haven't heard!!!! Is that crap or what?!! Or am I being unreasonable?

I also tried to book NCT classes but they all are booked up. She did say I could go to coffee mornings, which I can't cos I work full time. There goes my plan of having a few friends before the baby arrives.

OMG I sound like a right misery today don't I?! Honestly I'm not!! I have decided on a nursery theme- which I'm very excited about!!!! I love elephants (strange I know but all due to a past trip to Thailand), Disney has a new character called Lumpy the Heffalump and you can get wall borders, cot bumper etc etc with him on. I'm not going to go over the top with it, but it is all soo cute.

Anyway, must go for breakfast. Been up since 7.00 reading this thread, worked up a real appetite!

Morning all, well the rain in Spain is falling right on our house today and has been for the last week. Reminds me of living in London.

Hi, PJ, we are due on the same day. I agree it sounds like you've been abandones a bit. I can't believe they base seeing you on the time you pick up a maternity booklet. I mean, some people don't find out they're pregnant until quite a bit in, do they? Surely they should go by your dates, e.g. see everyone by 12 weeks.

IIRC you're allowed time off work for antenatal classes, aren't you? Not sure that technically includes coffee mornings LOL! Maybe you can get on to your NHS classes. I did those with DDs and found them to be excellent. I met some really nice, local friends through them.

SOL, glad your scan went well. Good luck for the results on Tuesday, but it sounds like it'll be fine.

Haven't caught up on the rest of the thread as I had a horrendous sickness bug the night before last (up every hour on the hour from 1am to 7pm). So yesterday wasfun looking after three children while lying in bed feeling awful. Still, DH is home tonight, at long last.

Right, better go and do something constructive. Bye for now.

pesha · 21/10/2006 12:19

Hi all. Am very of all those who've gone away especially CD getting away without the LOs, sounds like bliss. Much as I love them I find a bit of a break helps me love them so much more . Hope you are all having a great time.

Peajay am that noones seen you yet. If you're going to have the triple test or whatever it its called (sorry being a bit crap), the blood test to check risk levels and things isnt it supposed to be done around 16 weeks? I think you need to talk to someone who knows a bit more than me (not hard!), perhaps start a thread asking for advice in pregnancy section? and then ring your mw and get a bit firm cos it definitely sounds to me like you've been abandoned, specially for your 1st time. I had my booking in at 10wks and scan at 12 wks and have an appointment booked for general check and blood tests at 16+4 and this is my 3rd pg.

WaspElly · 21/10/2006 15:52

Hi All,
Been kinda keeping tags on both the April & the May threads as wasn't sure exactly when our EDD wwas - Scan on Thursday however shows the bleed I had in July wasn't a period after all as we went for a nuchal scan on thursday & lo waved at DH and I - 16+1!!!
So we're now EDD 4th April! Eeek. So rapid 'coming out' all round, work, family etc etc
Katy44 - oh it's over the bump everytime for me - utb just seems to slip down over my bum all the time You might find a bit of elastic through the back waistband of your trousers that has got holes at regular intervals so that you can change the length. Otherwise sounds like under bump to me .
Oooh hadn't consider NCT as antenatal "appointments" that I could get time off for! That really the case?
We win the post-code lottery as what we pay for in insurance we make up for just being a Surestart (ie. extra support) area - and although the people in our antenatal classes were fine, we just never felt the urge to try & meet up with them!

WestCountryLass · 21/10/2006 21:03

Went to Tesco to get the swimming nappies and stuff for holidays, came out and there was an accident on the roundabout so the carpark was gridlock, went back in to Tesco cafe for lunch as was not going anywhere for a while, went to use the loos, wiped tmi and was spotting

Bloody woman on the till in the cafe would not let me use her pen to ring ring directories and write the number for health centre down H d to cart the kids back downstairs and buy one.

Back upstairs to cafe to give the kids some food whilst I was led a merry dance by O2 directories and given the wrong number 5 times. Eventually got through and went straight to midwives and everything is OK, baby had strong heartbeat and was moving around

So keep your fingers crossed this was an isolated incident and baby is just keeping me on my toes please! Midwife told me to put my feet up over the weekend......yeah right!

EllieK · 21/10/2006 21:52

haven't finished reading yet, keep getting distracted by things I fell upon through Mumsnet posts like oceangram and quizoo
be warned - these are both addictive but fabulous fun!

EllieK · 21/10/2006 22:09

caught up now
PJ- see a doctor for advice, you should see a mw by 12 weeks for your first, certainly by 16 weeks x
things no better at home, i'm sure the hormones are worse but it reached a point where we are going to end up hating each other so he's off to a friends for a week to give me a break. lets hope this helps x

stay well all

zazas · 22/10/2006 10:46

Hello Everyone - I think I have caught up1

Duchesse - I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope that you are OK and the best of luck for the future.

Have had a mad 10 days. A friend committed suicide which was a big shock to all. Couldn't actually cope with the actual memorial service as another friend died this way last year and my emotions are all over the place, so remembered him in my own way. Then was away with work which is taxing especially having to eat at certain time to control the ms! Drives my colleagues mad as well! Then I got my first migraine - ouch! Didn't use anything although I was crawling the walls and now have some sort of stomach bug and more vomitting! Trying not to feel sorry for myself as my dearest friend has just found out that their third and last attempt at IVF has failed...She is around later for birthday cake and sympathy....

Phew anyway at 15w and 5 days I think I might be getting back to a more normal state - thank goodness. I have to admit I have honestly found this really hard going - definitely my last baby!

On a more trival note - much prefer the over bump trousers, under just seem to fall down. I must say it is a relief to be in stretchy trousers now and let it 'all hang out'!

I hope you all have a restful Sunday and that things glide along smoothly.

Katy44 · 22/10/2006 11:31

WCL, sorry you had such a stressful time, glad things are OK, and keeping my fingers crossed!
EllieK, I hope things are better after the week, do you think it's the pregnancy or is there more to it?
Zazas, it sounds as though you are having a horrible time, hope you start feeling better.
My only news, which is nothing compared to what others are going through is that my morning sickness has returned with a vengeance. I very smugly announced that it had gone a couple of weeks ago, and it had...until Thursday, and I have been sick every morning since then. So pride goes before a fall

duchesse · 22/10/2006 12:16

Hi all. Am feeling on a far more even keel again, after a dodgy couple of days. Am hoping to be back on ante-natal threads asap. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancies. I'll be back to tell you if there's any news later in the year. (fingers crossed)

Katy44 · 22/10/2006 12:19

duchesse, glad you're feeling slightly better and thanks for the update. I will keep my fingers crossed for you (already have them crossed for another reason and it's getting difficult to type )

mammyjo · 22/10/2006 15:45

Duchesse, good to hear from you. Hope to hear from you very soon, all the best for the future xxx

Zazas, what a terrible time for you. At least you are starting to feel a little better which is something!

I ate a load of crap yesterday evening (you know that American style stuff of potato skins, breaded mushrooms etc) and paid for it big time. I had such awful abdo pains I really thought that they were contractions and I totally freaked. Ended up throwing up and having diarrhoea (sorry if TMI). At least that gave me a reason for the pains but I dont think I have ever had it so painful before IYKWIM. Has left me quite scared actually and have spent half my day in tears. Still have gripey pains but am sure its just my windy pains and have felt LO move several times today. Why does pregnancy have to be so bloody stressful?!!

Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday.

Sexonlegs · 22/10/2006 18:14

Hiya ladies, hope everyone is ok. So much to catch up on.
MIAM, sorry about dh's snoring - I would go bonkers as well. Hope you get some well neede rest soon.

Zaza's, so sorry to hear about your friend - what a tragic thing to happen. Hope you are getting the support you need.

WCL, cannot believe the woman in Tesco's! They are supposed to be helpful. Glad things are ok though.

Elliek, sorry to hear you are still feeling hacked off with dp. Hope the weeks' break helps a little. Have you tried posting on the relationships thread for some support/guidance?

Duchesse, lovely to hear from you, and I hope that you are feeling and continue to feel brighter. Best wishes for the future.

Not much to report here. 13 + 1 - this pg feels like forever already! Still feeling dreadfully sick, so having to eat almost every 2 hours! I think they compare that to how often a newborn needs feeding!!

Hope everyone I haven't mentioned is ok too, and catch up later.

xx
