Hi everyone,

It's not a good time of year for bugs is it, hope everyone suffering feels better soon. Thankfully dd is over her hand foot & mouth and back to her usual chirpy self. I'd hesitate to use the word blooming BUT I am feeling better these days, the horrible tiredness bit isn't half as bad (saying that I had 11 hours sleep last night which helped!).

Doghouse, I gather "silent" urine infections (ie no symptoms) are common in pregnancy so that'd likely be to blame - hope you get some reassurance from your midwife.

WCL - very of Corfu, have a lovely time. We're off to London next week to stay with MIL so no prizes for guessing where I'd rather be. It'll be good to catch up with DH's family though as we've not seen them for months and his sister & her family are all absolutely lovely.

geordiemacminx · 19/10/2006 09:03

Morning everyone!!

Had a well deserved day off yesterday as I had midwife appointment in the afternoon.

Hope you are all well.

Weeonion - which NCT did you sign up with? Where is the course?

Morning all. I am feeling very rough today too - got another one of my horrible headaches. Someone ages ago on this thread recommended soluble aspirin which I have just taken (despite the "no pregnant" warning on the pack) and they seem to be working.

HOW DO YOU DO A LINK TO ANOTHER THREAD???? I started one last night called April 2007 (ie, us) questionnaire which I cribbed from the May thread and I can't link it!!!

Not feeling too happy as have all half term in good old Devon while DH is being intrepid in Africa....

Tili · 19/10/2006 10:50

hi everyone.

Can I sign up to the not feeling on top form gang too!! LOL

Had a terible morning this morning.had just opened my eyes and thought Im going to be sick and have been sick a few times this morning got to go pick dd up from preschool in a bit too so hopefully I will be ok for at least half an hour to do so.

Ive got another scan on Monday which im excited about and also slightly anxious. My scan a few weeks ago was just to find out how far I was, this one on monday is for all the measurements etc.

Anyway look after yourselves ladies hope all those who are poorly get well soon and those who are well remain so
Take care xx

Tili · 19/10/2006 10:51

Greengirlforever · 19/10/2006 10:58

runnyhabbit · 19/10/2006 11:06

GGF - Just looked at the questionnaire. Glad to see that I wasn't the only one that cried watching Holby City .......

runnyhabbit · 19/10/2006 11:07

twinkle183 · 19/10/2006 12:36

Hi guys - sorry haven't posted for a while the days just seem to fly by and I don't get a moment to myself!!!

Had my first midwifes appointment since my scan, which was good!! Had my bloods taken for the downs sydrome gene at least I think that whats she said!!! Apparantly its rountine in Cornwall for every mother to have the test even though I am only 25... I heard the babys heartbeat which was very strong and quick!

Had complete pregnancy head yesterday and locked my car keys in the care and to make matters worse my husband took my spare key with him to scotland or so I thought However it turned out that he had left his keys at work so I managed to get it!! I was embarrassed by the time I got to work!!!

Hope that everyone is well and that scans are going okay!!!

Take care

geordiemacminx · 19/10/2006 14:05

Hey you. I'm gonna give them a fone, would be easier if there was some classes over this side..I hate sitting in the traffic on the M8!!

I have just bought the comfiest slipper type things from boots.. they are like ballet shoes by totes but they have the squidiest soles in them and have piglet embrodied on the front. They are going to be kept in my drawer at work cos I hate wearing shoes at work but my toes get cold in bare feet!!!

Hi all,
Have been a terribly sporadic poster, not least because I've not let myself enjoy this pregnancy - until now! Because of my great age, I was waiting until the nuchal scan to see whether I could feel able to be happy, and the scan lady said to me afterwards (last night): 'You can enjoy your pregnancy now', which was just fab. I have down from my numerical age (high risk) to much, much lower (low risk) and although I shall be having the triple test, she feels confident that I can relax now. WHOO-HOO! Of course, I'll find other things to worry about, but at least I can tell more than the selected few now, and think about names etc. I also have a new due date: it was the 26th April and is now the 22nd.
Bugmum - 13+4

CaptainDippy · 19/10/2006 17:19

Boo!! Just posting in quickly before I go and piack up DD's from nursery .....

Hello pesha!! Nice to have you back!! Sorry your MS is so bad - hoping it eases soon honey.

doghouse - I expect the little bit of blood is contected to the urine infection - jsut call up your midwife / GP if you need a wee bit of reassurance. Has there been any more blood??

Hello and Welcome Just5minspeace (boy do I know that feeling well!!!!)

@ WCL going to Corfu on Monday - any space in your suitcase for me and a bump????

Bugger to all these bugs!!!! Poor you MIAM - hope it clears up soon, crap ain't it?? DD1 ear infection is groooooooss, poor little thing. Hoping it goes away soon, only so much ear goop one PG lady can deal with!! Yuk!!!

Oh Bugmum - we are not longer Due Date buddies Good to see you though!! Just Bubba and I on the 26th then.....

Mmmmm, not much to report here, completely in maternity clothes now - bump is big and v.obvious, which is nice! MS almost gone ......

pesha · 19/10/2006 19:53

Thankyou captaindippy, was feeling much better today until i had 1 tiny piece of chocolate, ok 2 choc chip cookies and 1 tiny piece of chocolate, and it made me feel really sick. Had had a mars ice cream bar last 2 nights running that made me feel sick (yes I know i should have stopped after the first time but you have to make sure dont you ) but i put that down to it being ice cream and quite rich but no its chocolate, I cant eat chocolate!! I was just about coping with the rapidly expanding list of 'foods i cannot eat' and managing to survive without alcohol, cigarettes, pate, brie, peanut butter, whippy ice cream and the all the other forbidden foods but chocolate???

Sorry for the huge rant but dp just doesnt understand my loss!

Have to go and check ebay am bidding on maternity trousers ending soon but will be back soon i expect to catch up.

And i dont mean to be ignoring everyones posts I just forget who is who but will make sure to come back with focused head on to make some insightful, helpful and sympathetic comments to everyone as i keep meaning to but then forgetting! Think will have to read posts with notebook and pen in hand in future

Sexonlegs · 19/10/2006 21:32

Hiya ladies, hope you are having good evenings.
So many bugs around. Hope those who are suffering are feeling better soon.
I have been having horrific headaches as well, had one on Tuesday and a cracker last night. I didn't think you could take aspirin as it thins the blood. I thought it was paracetamol only which is pants!
Not much to report here. Looking quite big now even though only 12 + 5 - I think it is because it is number 2. Going for my nuchal scan and blood test tomorrow. Trying not to get stressed about it.
Anyway, big hugs to everyone and see you all tomorrow.

muminamini · 20/10/2006 07:31

Good luck for your scan today SOL and glad your booking in appointment went ok GMCM.

I stil feel pants but thanks for the good wishes. My dad came to the rescue again yesterday and took DS for a few hours so I could have a kip. Up most of last night and was meant to be meeting up with a fellow mumsnetter today and just no way I can stray that far from the loo. I hate letting people down especially at the last minute .

Made DH sleep downstairs last night as his snoring was driving me demented...think I willjust shut the doors to the house this weekend - we all need to re-charge as DH is full of a cold as well.

CD - sorry to hear about copious ear goop - am an old hand at looking after the old ear infections - DS had 6 last year ...if the same happens this year he's going to have to have grommets I think....they are just so miserable so I really feel for you and your little one.

Pesha - don't worry hun - I feel just like you too - I read everyones messages and then promptly forget everything I wanted to respond to - the pad and pen idea is a good one!!

Take care all and have a good friday - duvet on couch and Balamory for me

MIAM 14 weeks today!!!!

runnyhabbit · 20/10/2006 08:36

Morning all

I too am now in fully blown maternity clothes, except I don't seem to have a lot of them. Think I had too much of a clear out after ds was born. Never mind, I'll just have to go shopping

Just been looking at everyones answers to the questinnaire - so glad to see I'm not only when it came to Holby City. Dh thought I had lost the plot!

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon, and have a lovely weekend

xxx

This thread is too active for me, I can't keep up! Get well soon to all those with horrible bugs, and hope ms is easing for people. Are we all in the second trimester now (still not sure whether it starts at 12 weeks or 14 - there seem to be different opinions). All ok here, though I'm still feeling queasy from the smell of burning paint (decorators at home - and I did ask them not to burn off paint when I was there!) looking forward to my next midwife appointment - next thursday - though I'm still scared they'll find something wrong. 16+4 today.

sorry! seem to have jumpy fingers this morning!

Bramshott · 20/10/2006 10:13

Arrggh - too much to read!

I am off shopping this afternoon with DD (who wants a pink rake!), and will be looking for black trousers I can wear now or soon, and will last me - was thinking maybe jersey like the ones in Blooming Marvellous. Where should I go??

runnyhabbit · 20/10/2006 10:18

Dorothy Perkins do a pair of black jersey type ones with an elastic waist band, which can go over, on, or under bump - very comfy, and they were only £20. Be warned, they are very long - I'm 5ft 7 and I had to take them up a bit (but I think they'd be ok with heels)

Have fun looking for the pink rake maybe if I had one, then I'd do more gardening.....
