Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

I have just been eating what I fancy rather than concentrating on healthy food, but the quantities are far less than I was eating before.

Eating little and often I have found more helpful than breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 13:50

That's my plan for today. I am slowly eating fruit and stuff.

I am totally off anything sweet like cakes etc.

I did find that a pack of salt and vinegar squares did make me feel slightly better for my train journey home.

I am in the gym tonight, so will try and have a pret salad or something see if that helps a couple of hours before.

JoY007 · 02/12/2014 13:54

number stay away from orange juice, I can't stomach it. Try sucking on a lemon Smile I accidentally bit into a lemon pulp from the slice in my water, and the nausea feeling disappeared, hope its not placebo.

Lol! at Mcd ha ha ha , virtual 1 will not kill you, and sometimes best to go with what you feel like eating at the time, given we can't eat a lot anyway.

Cramps back again -Argghh - I imagine it will be worse from now on, since more development taking place coming weeks and placenta should be forming??

JoY007 · 02/12/2014 13:59

number suggestion on pret salad if you haven't tried it- the chef italian chicken salad - awesome and very yummy Grin, it has pistachio nuts - assume you are not allergic to nuts.

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 14:20

Joy that is my favourite, but I just walked in Pret and couldn't buy it!
I ended up with the Christmas sandwich and Salt and vinegar crisps.

I feel fine whilst eating, then hungry and sick soon after.

Sarkymare · 02/12/2014 14:40

Just got back from my second early scan. I've been dated at 7+2 so still a full week behind. Contrary to what the last sonographer said. Bleeding, measuring a week behind and having a small sac is something to worry about according to the lady I spoke to today. Because of this I've been booked for yet another scan in exactly two weeks time.

Heartbeat was strong though which of course is brilliant news! I just wish the sac would hurry up and grow!

VirtualPointyHat · 02/12/2014 14:58

Haha thats what is really pissing me off, I have lost a stone sice I got PG :S

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 15:05

sarky focus on that strong heart beat.

Another scan in two weeks is good. FX and hopefully lots of growth by then Flowers

MuddyWellyNelly · 02/12/2014 15:07

I've decided if it's ok to tip my toe in here? First ever pregnancy after over 4 years of trying and fertility treatment. Eventually used DE IVF which is what got us to this point. Due on 28th July if all is well (and if it's not twins, had two embies put back). So I'm 6+0 today. I'm 40 but our donor was below 30 so risks much lower. So far, all looks ok but I'm incredibly terrified of it all going wrong. Have a private scan booked for 7+5 as I thought by then it would be a bit more definitive than going too early. Absolutely no symptoms, but have had 2 very good HcG blood results in the early stages.

First question from me. I have both my MW Booking in, and my 12 week scan, on the same day, 15th January. I will be 12+2. Should I worry that I am not seeing anyone until that point, other than the private scan? Obviously I'm taking Folic acid and multi-vits plus all the other drugs related to the IVF, but is someone supposed to check blood pressure or anything else? I'm quite light and getting a bit dizzy sometimes.

WantToGoingTo · 02/12/2014 15:07

number that long with no nooky? Shock

I agree re fruit. Fruit and potatoes are my friend. And chocolate digestives. Anything savoury and main meal like bleugh. Prefer snacking to proper meals atm! Didn't eat my salmon last night couldn't face it. Instead ate the veggies and rhubarb crumble! Carbs an fruit yep. Anything else nope!

Cried at Mariah Carey on the radio today. And then cried at work. I think people think I am having a breakdown! And no sleep either cps need to wee so much, I look terrible! Be a relief when people finally know after Xmas!

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 15:14

want I know! My vag would have closed up after 33 weeks Blush
I accused my OH of cheating when he wouldn't DTD with me after 1 day haha. it was a particularly tearful and hormonal day!
Of course he hasn't and wouldn't cheat on me, I was just feeling insecure.
poor fella

Welcome Muddy!

If you are concerned about your BP then check in with your GP do you like how I made a rhyme there

Other than that, you are quite safe to wait until 12 weeks Smile

SophieBarringtonWard · 02/12/2014 15:14

Welcome & congrats MuddyWelly I think it is perfectly normal not to see anyone till your booking in appointment but if you think you need to see someone (including needig reassurance as you've waited so long to get to this point I can't imagine how you feel!) then you should be able to call to midwives? Do the IVF clinic not see you?

MuddyWellyNelly · 02/12/2014 15:19

Number I was at my GP today (unrelated but told him about pregnancy) and he didn't seem interested in checking anything, but then I didn't specifically ask either!

Sophie the treatment was abroad (long wait lists for donors in the UK) so they will support by answering questions etc but can't do anything more practical. Thanks for the understanding on our long journey so far. It does make everything feel very fragile.

OK so as long as I feel ok then I can just wait until I see the midwife. That's a LOOONG way away!

Sarkymare · 02/12/2014 15:19

number

I'm trying too. The not knowing why I'm bleeding or what will happen if the sac doesn't catch up unsettles me. I'm sure I could relax a lot more if I just had some answers but my questions have just been skirted around.

I've just asked in pregnancy if anyone can shed some light on the whole small sac thing so hopefully someone will come along and explain things to me.

fattycow · 02/12/2014 15:24

sarky, a friend of mine bled until the 5th month with both her pregnancies. They kids are now 7 and 9. I'm sure it will be all perfectly fine!

SophieBarringtonWard · 02/12/2014 15:39

Ah of course Muddy, I had a friend who went to Spain for DE, you've reminded me now, & that makes sense as to why you are not getting follow up from then. Medically, unless you have underlying issues or a history you should be fine to continue without being seen by anyone before 12 weeks, but that doesn't mean you have to!

naty1 · 02/12/2014 15:42

Sarky i guess its how sure you are of the dates. To be due 13/07 ivf was 20/10 so that would be ovulation. If you have a longer cycle you may not ovulate day 14.
I think if something goes wrong the sac can shrink, so they are probably monitoring it, checking its growing.
Though i dont think ivf clinic measured the sac.

Sarkymare · 02/12/2014 16:03

naty

My cycles are bang on 28 days. For me to actually be 7+2 I would have had to have received my BFP at about 6/7DPO or 2+6 instead of 3+6. It's incredibly unlikely the egg would have implanted and caused HCG to rise enough to be detectable in such a short time. Usually the whole process takes about two weeks.

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 16:14

Ok can someone work it out for me?

My cycles are totally random, anything from 35 - 60 days.

In September I had a 28 day cycle. The last day of my period was the 11th of October, I got my BFP on the 11th of November.

Is it possible that I am a week behind and not 7 +2?

Would I have got a BFP on the 11th of Nov?

The reason I ask is because I had progesterone tests done on day 21 which showed a low level of 10 - the doc said I could have ovulated late.

naty1 · 02/12/2014 16:36

Number you would need first day of period.
The min on a bfp would have to be at least 6days. It takes that long (5days to form a blastocyst). But realistically probably 8 days after ovulation at least.
Due to cycle length and ovulation differing, late implantation etc its really quite inaccurate.
But as sarky was saying the fixed point of bfp and needing to be at least x days before that. Of course people with short cycles would ovulate early maybe day 11 of 25 and so be further on.
This is why they use dating scans, but they are im sure not 100% either. I dont like that they may change my EDD even though i know im more correct than their measurements :)

Number3cometome · 02/12/2014 16:38

Sorry I meant the First day of my period was 11th October - Baby brain haha x

naty1 · 02/12/2014 17:00

I guess the latest you could have Ovulated for a 11/11 bfp might be 03/11 giving you a bfp 8dpo but its usually longer for a strong positive. I suspect 14 days is more likely.
I wonder if hcg rises quicker with DC2 etc? certainly my lines were darker this time.

itsnotthatdeep · 02/12/2014 17:39

had my booking in today my dates were wrong so approx im 9+2

I was also rather abruptly told as im over weight and my bmi is highi will need extra FA low dose asprin n something elseSad im fairly active I don't drink I used to smoke lightly but have given up. I was made to feel like a heffer Sad Sad

Fleurchamp · 02/12/2014 17:53

Are partners expected to come to booking in appointment???

itsnotthatdeep · 02/12/2014 17:55

I dont believe so Fleur all they do is take blood ask loads of questions about ethnicity, prior pregnancies n very brief family history.
