oh gudgy men can be such a pain sometimes. last week i snapped at oh as he was teasing and he really kicked off at me and had a bath then went to bed at 8pm. i spent most the night on the sofa crying and then couldnt get comfy so went to bed. he got up the next morning still in a mood then we went out for the day and he was fine the rest of the day. thing is i know he was awake most of the night pretending to be asleep. so i made myself a cup of tea quite a few times as he must have been very thirsty. at one point i went to turn the heating off upstairs and deliberatly went to the loo and flushed the chain just incase he needed a wee Grin i know its petty but he was being a child

Annoying just lost a long post. Grr

Anyway to cut a long story short men are daft and back to back is not always horrendous.

fourmonthstogo · 21/01/2015 08:21

3 I hate it when that happens! If you can bring yourself to try again I'd love to hear about a less painful back to back birth!

Gudgyx · 21/01/2015 10:20

He was back to his normal annoying self last night so all good, must just have had an off day!

m33r · 21/01/2015 13:50

Hi all

Glad the packing and shopping is going well and picking up pace!

Sorry to hear your DH is being a pest gudgy.

I've been to MW this morning and little guy is still breach and since he is also measuring two weeks ahead, it looks quite unlikely he will turn. She explained everything to me about an elective section so kind of trying to make my peace with that now. I'm disappointed but also seeing a real big positive in having the date (I'm a bit of a control freak!).

Hope everyone is well as we approach the final straight (and maternity must be starting for some of us soon too!).

Ellizardo · 22/01/2015 08:35

M33r what's the date?! We can be cheering silently across the ether! Keeping positive has to be so key now, good luck!
Feeling v achey in pelvis now like I've been on an epic horseride without, er, doing anything apart from potter about and go to work etc.
Saw a friend yesterday whose DS was born in early Jan saying she visualised blowing up a massive hot air balloon for about 3 hours and it helped keep her mind off the pain. Whatever works I guess!
Have filled a 6 drawer tall boy with 2nd hand baby clothes from newborn to 6 months! The kid will be better dressed than me!
Anyone else thinking of a pré birth haircut and general pampering session before we become slaves to the sleep deprivation and nappies?!

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 09:55

I'm doing my own hair tomorrow night Ellizardo! Its black at the moment, but my hair is naturally blonde, so I'm getting crazy white roots. Its much too much upkeep, especially with a new baby, so I'm stripping it back. (took some research, but safe in pregnancy thank goodness!) then I'll go get it cut in a few weeks just to take damaged bits off after stripping. Ive stripped my hair myself umpteen times, so hopefully it'll go okay. (Im constantly going from black to blonde to bright fire engine red hair)

Really wanted to get all pretty haha nails painted and tan done etc for the birth but as its a section I'm going in au natural :( aka white, pasty and horrid nails. Ah well! Are you going to have a pampering session?

I really want a pregnancy massage but seems places these days stick 'pregnancy' on the front and charge a fortune for it. Even though its literally only doing it lying on your side instead of tummy.

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 10:07

Its getting so close now! I've been creeping on other antenatal threads, i.e. in November I creeped on Decembers, December I creeped on Januarys etc. I'm up to date now with February's, and just realised the next one is ours :o :o

I'm terrified of this big spinal needle.

Butterpuff · 22/01/2015 10:43

Morning all,

Glad your OH is back to normal Gudgy.

3 You made me chuckle, but if you can face it then I too would love to hear about a less painful back to back.

Bought some cute baby clothes yesterday, mostly vests and sleepsuits as all the outfits seemed to be very definitely boy or girl. But Mum knows what ones I liked/didn't like now so she can run out and buy me some bits I like when we know what bump is. 4.5 weeks to go till due date, its getting properly exciting now.

Just realised I have a hair cut booked for tomorrow, which is good. At 8am, which is bad. But never mind, a little trim will be nice, and when we get back into our house I might play at some nail art.

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 11:50

I was due my assessment with PIP today, but they phoned this morning and cancelled it as GP called in sick. Now have to go all the way to Glasgow tomorrow morning for it, or wait until March for another appointment in Hamilton. Grrrr!!

Ellizardo · 22/01/2015 13:07

Got an Elemis preg massage token for Xmas so will have to use that up and am due a haircut / colour anyway. Nails (pedi) would be fun too, something cheerful to look at in the throes.

Gudgy I'm mega impressed you can extreme dye your hair. I had a traumatic incident with Sun In when I was 17 and I've never DIY'ed it since.

m33r · 22/01/2015 13:58

gudgy there's a woman round our area who does pregnancy massages at home for 35 per hour. Apparently she's brilliant and she also brings her own table which has a hole in it for bump.

I have an antenatal head and foot massage which DH bought me in August but I was too paranoid to use which I plan to take in Mat leave (5 weeks today). Planning a haircut for my wedding anniversary (3 weeks) getting my toes done in 3 weeks (section or no section!) and keeping my nails done in the meantime.

Not usually into all this kind of thing but it helps me feel a bit 'nice' when everything else is falling to bits a bit and I have such a restricted wardrobe.

eliz I'd be 12th March for ELCS but I'm going for all the exercises to 'spin' the baby. Keeping positive about the section but still hoping I can shift him...

I can't believe we have babies due in four weeks!! I remember joining htis thread and seeing all the other antenatal threads thinking we would NEVER be the 'due' thread! woo hoo!

m33r · 22/01/2015 13:59

gudgy that shouldn't be a question mark before 35... it is def 35 pounds per hour.

fourmonthstogo · 22/01/2015 14:06

I am hoping to squeeze in a pedicure before d day. I reckon they'd benefit from a bit of a pamper!

Do you have to have nail varnish free nails for a c-section then?

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 14:45

I think they check the colour under your nails etc during it four, something to do with the colour showing how your body is reacting? I'm positive I read it somewhere!

Meer, you're in south lan arent you? Think she would come to Motherwell?

Ellizardo, I hate the way other people do my hair, I've always done my own! When I was younger, I was the person that was the guinea pig for all my hairdresser in training friends, so I've had some crazy hairstyles. I also dont mind if I get it wrong etc so I'm not afraid to shave it all off and start again if I ever need to! Not had a disaster yet, I once let my mum do it and she accidently dyed it green so I had to get it fixed professionally then. I liked the green, but was still at school :(

theonewiththenoisychild · 22/01/2015 14:52

haha gudgy my mum dyed my brothers hair bright orange once. he went to school like it and got put in the "sin bin" (internal exclusion) he has had his hair some crazy colours also so think he liked it orange Grin

shelley1977 · 22/01/2015 15:25

Id love a proper massage, my midwife did put me forward for something similar due to fibromyalgia but never heard anything from who was suppose to do it. My partner does give me a massage if I want which is lovely. I finally met my local midwife today, she is lovely and luckily my blood pressure still ok and no other symptoms to worry about.
I haven't been to hairdressers in years though I am very tempted my a friends new salon as it only uses natural vegan products and though im not vegan I don't uses products with chemicals in.

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 16:42

I got into trouble a couple of years at work. I left on the Wednesday for some annual leave, came back on the Monday with bright red hair down to my bum, a pierced lip, and a black eye. To a senior management meeting!

In my defense, I got jumped on the Saturday night hence the black eye! And I had asked for permission prior to dying my hair as I'm in a customer facing role, just dont think they realised how bright I meant when I said 'bright red'. And my lip piercing is quite subtle :D

Was an interesting conversation with my director after the meeting though, he was not amused! Although he didnt make me dye it back haha

fourmonthstogo · 22/01/2015 17:22

I've definitely read that too gudgy, I am just intreagued as to whether anyone's consultant has confirmed that it is still the case or whether it is one of those old wives tales! Although if I get whipped in for an emcs I think the last thing on my mind will be my pedicure!

pinkandstripey · 22/01/2015 18:05

I was asked before surgery last time if I had any nail varnish on, so def not an old wives tale :)

m33r · 22/01/2015 18:25

My MW told me explicitly to not have nail varnish on but when I said 'toes too' she said 'not really' and was a bit less committed.

gudgy she covers whole of Lanarkshire. I'll PM you. She's recommended through 'daisy foundation' Lanarkshire I think.

Gudgyx · 22/01/2015 20:30

Thanks meer! Now just need to talk the mister into paying for it ??

m33r · 22/01/2015 20:38

Did you get the pm gudgy? It's not in my sent box but pretty sure I oressed send?

Just had a shower, saw myself and thought my bump (and calves Shock) are MASSIVE! I don't think I've got 8 weeks - certainly not 10 weeks - worth of space!! Anyone else? What about you early March people (and our feb members)? Did you pop then slow down or just keep growing?

M27J5M · 22/01/2015 22:55

My posts keep bloody vanishing off here :/

Twittwooo · 23/01/2015 00:22

Eek - I can't find my maternity notes! At least, they're not where I thought they were. I was looking for them to find out when my next appointment is. Must have a good hunt tomorrow - I've done so much clearing out I'm hoping I've not properly mislaid them, or worse!
