Morning everyone. Had 29 week appt yesterday along with my Anti D jab. Anyone else Rhesus Negative? All well with the 28cm dude apparently. Quite liked the reassurance of going in as it's been a while. Was going on hospital / MLU tour tonight but OH can't join so postponing until next month. Anyone done one? Personally prefer to 'know where I'm going' when labour hits!

M27J5M · 07/01/2015 10:01

Oh gudgy id be annoyed too if some1 bought me (in my eyes) something important/personal to me, I made it clear to family that I was just buying the basics in neutral/whites and once baby is here I'll get coloured stuff to suit so luckily no1 has really bought us anything unless they've asked 1st, and DP's family have been good at dropping a text with "transferred money into bank so go buy what you like/need" so it's been good to pick for ourselves Smile my gran had went mad knitting and has loads of wool to use up so she's knitted cardigans in every colour and said she'll hand the 1s we don't need into charity shop or put a wee stall at church fair Smile I love wee knitted cardi's Smile esp as my gran is the 1 doing it so got the sentimental touch too Smile

M27J5M · 07/01/2015 10:02

And DP's mum is k it ting our shawl tooSmile

M27J5M · 07/01/2015 10:02

*knitting

Gudgyx · 07/01/2015 10:49

Oh I love knitted stuff!! So far we have a tiny white cardigan, tiny pink cardigan, a white and lilac one, and a white and lilac matching shawl! Some wee booties too, they're so cute!

Ellizardo, I wont be doing the hospital tour. I've had surgery twice in the past year in the same hospital, as well as numerous appointments, so I know it well enough!

M27J5M · 07/01/2015 10:56

At home I have 3 White cardis, my grans still working on the rest adding buttons etc but think I have a total rainbow of colours to choose from, lol only colour she hasn't done is lemon/yellow and said she won't be as it bugs her ha ha

Gudgyx · 07/01/2015 15:44

Aw no remember I posted a while ago about my cousin and they thought the baby had Edwards? He hasnt made it :( and she's now 24 weeks so is having to go in tomorrow and give birth to him. His birth and death have to be registered and he will need to be buried. How horrible :(

fishfingerSarnies · 07/01/2015 16:53

Oh gudgy that's so sad. Xxx

M27J5M · 07/01/2015 18:47

theonewiththenoisychild · 07/01/2015 18:57

Butterpuff · 08/01/2015 09:48

What sad news gudgy, so sorry for all.

Gudgyx · 08/01/2015 10:19

Thanks guys, really for them right now.

Lifeisabeach · 08/01/2015 10:41

So sorry to hear about your cousin, gudgy

Had my 28 week appointment with the MW on Tuesday (although I was 29+1). Not my usual one but she was very nice and said I could have the home birth kit delivered and start off at home, but then transfer into the MLU if I wanted to. She said once I’m 36 weeks and they know baby is head down, I can go and have a look round the MLU. Two of my friends have had babies there in the last month and both said it’s lovely, very quiet but lots of attention and good facilities.

BP and wee sample were fine and my bump is measuring bang on 29cm…which is a new thing for me as with my other two I measured small and was sent for growth scans. Clearly I am bigger this time and the sheer volume of chocolate I’ve been consuming is having an effect! MW said I should make an appointment with the nurse for the whooping cough jab so I suppose I’ll do that.

Still not feeling very organised but have made a few lists. Need to sort out maternity allowance soon - think I should have already sent the forms off so better get on with it!

Butterpuff · 08/01/2015 11:48

I know what you mean life.

Don't you worry about mess with a home birth?! Good to know that if you choose MLU than its a nice one though. Can I ask how small you measured to get growth scans previously. I am a little on the small side, just wondered at what point it becomes an issue of concern. So far I'm pleased I'm measuring a little small as I was terrified of a huge baby, and I was born two weeks late at just 6lb. I figured that at under 5ft and truly petite I would have a little baby.

We are so unorganised. DH is in a meeting today about cuts at work which may mean he is made redundant. We haven't bought much of anything. We have builders scheduled to come in next week and sparkies/plumbers the week after. Plasterers the week after that. I haven't sorted my maternity forms yet (but know it wont be a problem with my employer even if late) DH put his paternity ones in yesterday to get it in before the job cuts were announced. I feel about as ready to have a baby as I do to fly to the moon. Just assuming that it will all fall into place. 6 weeks 4 days till due date! And I can not wait to finish work. Grin

Lifeisabeach · 08/01/2015 16:32

I had a home birth with DD - although not a planned one and didn't even have a midwife present! It was quite messy but that's partly because I hadn't planned for it to be at home so didn't have any plastic sheets or towels etc to put down. The MW cleaned everything up though so it wasn't too bad. I've always fancied a water birth, which I should be able to have at the MLU as they have several rooms with pools. Whereas I don't know whether I'll get round to hiring a pool to use at home, what with everything going on with my mum at the moment.

I measured about 3cm small I think both times - I remember being 31cm at 34 weeks and that's why they wanted me to have a growth scan. DS was 7lb 4oz and DD was 7lb 3oz so not tiny. Will be interesting to see what size this one is.

Hope your DH doesn't get made redundant Butterpuff, glad it's not just me who's disorganised!

theonewiththenoisychild · 08/01/2015 18:41

hi ladies. ive ticked lots of things off the baby list in the last 2 days and brought myself a thin dressing gown 2 nursing nighties and a nursing bra aswell. just the car seat and some more clothes and cot quilt and bumper and mobile and baby sleeping bag to get now that i can think of

Gudgyx · 09/01/2015 09:13

I feel like I have an alien in my tummy! This little minx does not stop kicking and wriggling and squirming, especially when sitting at my desk at work, I wont be squashing her will I? Most of the movements are just below my ribs at right hand side, think she can feel the underwire from my bra where its touching bump and she keeps going for that.

Nice to see we're all getting organised, cant believe how quick its gone and our babies are almost ready to make an appearance! I just have to buy a moses basket now really, my aunt (my cousin who lost the baby's mum) was buying that for me so I told her just to leave it as I didnt want her getting upset. She's insisted on giving me the money for one though so she's going to pass it to my mum next week. Dad's painting nursery next week, cots to be built and thats us :) come on baby!

Butterpuff · 09/01/2015 11:53

Bump is exactly the same as yours Gudgy same place, same feeling. I cant find anywhere comfortable to sit. Every position is just yucky and I cant breath properly. Just sitting at my desk pretending to work has me panting like I have just come back from a run.

I'm sorry, having a winge now but fed up with being uncomfortable and short of breath. Also its freezing at work even with a blanket round my shoulders. Last night I used my parents BP monitor to see what my pulse rate was as I felt like it was hammering. BP was 88 over 67 and heart rate was 119 bpm. That's over twice what my resting heart rate was pre pregnancy. No wonder I feel knackered all the time.

Come on baby! I really hope I don't go over. 6 more weeks is enough.

m33r · 09/01/2015 13:16

Anyone having movements low down and not at ribs? I feel like my little one is trying to wriggle really really low. At my last mw appt they said he was breach so I am hoping that a. this is normal for a breach baby and b. that he gets a shift into the right position!

Agree that I do not want to go over - more excitement that being uncomfortable but still... 9 weeks 6 days! Come on baby!!

Butterpuff · 09/01/2015 13:44

I have a few little tickles down low.....as well as the rib kicking. Rib kicking top right, wriggly down low and left!

M27J5M · 09/01/2015 14:01

My baby is far too low foreign kicking, the highest kicks I'm getting is about an inch about belly button!

fishfingerSarnies · 09/01/2015 15:09

I've not got much kicking but lots of grinding down in my pelvis. He really doesn't move much, but he never has so I'm not worried.
There's positions you can sit in etc the encourage a baby to get in the head down position. Have a little Google.

Gudgyx · 09/01/2015 15:42

Our bumps sound exactly the same butterpuff, I'm having the wriggly bits down low to the left as well! Our baby's must be lying diaganol haha.

I have a growth scan Monday so sure they'll mention it then!

Butterpuff · 09/01/2015 16:30

If they tell you Gudgy then you will have to let me know. When I have been to MW and they have a feel they have said they think baby is head down with its back along my right hand side. But I have no idea how they can feel that, to me it just feels hard....with sticky out bits when bump is active.

I have just had a meeting at work and everyone got distracted because they could see bump moving through my clothes. I had to ask bump to stop showing off and sit still so we could get some work done!! Grin

DurhamRed · 09/01/2015 16:54

m33r I'm having lots of movements lower down. Have been told baby is sitting very low and has head down (to the right) lying diagonally across so i feel punches low to the right and kicks to the left. Only occasionally do i feel anything above the belly button.

I'm feeling so out of breath all the time, even when just sitting at my desk,. Also i don't have a massive bump (baby is measuring on target so far) but it just feels so heavy, itchy and stretched...very uncomfortable!
