Emma sounds like you're having a very busy time! I've only got a week and 2 days left in work then I'm planning to do very little for a few weeks. Going to book hair apt, manicure and pedicure for the start of December so I feel pampered before baby arrives.
The cotbed drawer arrived today so I stupidly put it together (without waiting for DH to help) so am aching now as well! For now though I'm watching Masterchef and then The Apprentice and going to get an early night!

jobrum · 20/11/2014 08:38

I'm getting unusually stressed at things too Emma. A unexpected peak in work recently which would normally trigger my super organisation skills left me snowed under and forgetting all the little things on my work list. I am normally unflappable. And then a choice like 'which type of babygro do I buy' is somehow what tips me over the edge!

EmmaJan2015 · 20/11/2014 10:21

Exactly Jo!

Having to make a decision about what to buy for feeding sent me into a flap. I was in danger of throwing vast quantities of money at the issue and being done with it! Really cant afford to have that attitude with each decision we have to make.

Cheshire I've booked a hair appointment for next week too. And I might treat myself to a French manicure over Christmas at some point.

Does anyone know if it's true that you can't have coloured nails during labour? Something to do with in case you need a cesearean they need to be able to check your nails or something? I'm not sure if i've read it or if i've somehow made that up! Will check with my midwife at my appointment next week.

Wooo, nearing the weekend thank goodness!

cheshirem2b · 20/11/2014 11:52

Emma I think you can have painted nails but as long as it's normal nail varnish that comes off if you need a section (rather than shellac)... I have my own shellac kit so I am gutted I can't have that on - it lasts for weeks! never mind!

34 weeks today so on the final stretch now... only 6 weeks to go! Grin

Had a growth scan yesterday and baby is definitely not small as midwife thought but infact 4lbs 14ozs! wowzer!

So exciting to see it's chubby cheeks and hair on the scan. Although do feel like I've cheated a little bit by seeing it again...eek so real now.

2 more weeks at work...

BilboTheAlmighty · 20/11/2014 20:53

Easily stressed here too but I also find it a nice way to take my mind off the "joys" of impeding labour!

Madrigals It was very insensitive of me, I didn't wan to brag. How is baby now? And you??

Glad to see I am not the only still putting things together in the nursery! DH got a move on though yesterday and I can see the floor!!

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling the strain! I am also feeling pretty rubbish. Ds has now projectile vomited every night for the last few nights, tonight however he is now refusing to sleep, which I can't blame him for, he is so scared. Have pulled his cot through to our room and Dh is sleeping in another room (well supposed to be but is too busy worrying about us) as he has the second part of an interview tomorrow. I've felt so rubbish all day as well and really need some sleep! Just feel like crying ( I already had a meltdown last night though so can't again) plus I feel so guilty as all of this is my fault anyway! Arggghhhh. Sorry all, very self indulgent post I know! I just needed a rant.
I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm very lucky I'm not at work, although I have to admit that I don't feel I'm getting any more rest being at home!
6 weeks and a few days to go... I can't cope thinking about going over right now!
33 + 4

BilboTheAlmighty · 21/11/2014 04:39

madrigals How exciting about the home birth! This pregnancy being my first, I have absolutely no idea what to expect, LOA or not Wink If it makes for an easier labour then it's nice to know! I thought it was important for baby's comfort but I'd be grateful if it means it's easier for me too Grin

Dec2013mummy Please do rant away! This is the one place we can do this anonymously among people who understand exactly how we are feeling so go for it Smile And that's not self indulgent: anyone would be tired and stressed under your circumstances!

33 weeks today! 7 weeks left! And 1 week at work to go! I still need to finish putting our hospital bags together though. And Madrigals , I've found that making a big deal of starting to clear the nursery myself in front of DH (including carrying stuff!) made him tut at me and start on the tidying himself Grin The worst thing is that I was completely unable to tidy the nursery as the big bits are far too heavy, but I bluffed and it worked hehe.

I have a question for you who already are mothers: how does it feel like when baby's head is engaged? Can you feel it? And is it normal for me to sometimes feels like baby is pressing down on my cervix (it's really the cervix, I can feel it). It's not sharp sensations like before. It lasts for a few minutes and then stops and it is dull, like her head is trying to make her way down in my pelvis? Could it be the beginning of "the drop"? Just curious!

4.40am and wide awake since 4am. A pity I don't have my work at home or I could do so much in the mornings before even setting foot in my classroom Grin Have a good day everyone!

Ooh lemon and honey drink
I shall try that later with breakfast, when I've rolled out of bed!
Thank you!

Dh is now in slight panic mode that he hasn't started on clearing big boxes etc out of small room... And won't have me touch the boxes... So chop chop chop husband!!!

Baby might be in our room forever!

BilboTheAlmighty · 22/11/2014 10:39

Pesto Full of cold here too! Second week in a row now, and no amount of lemon and honey is helping! I blame the germ-ridden environment I work in Wink And I hear you about the aches and pains but I am starting to get used to those too now!

You see Madrigals , the secret is to make your husband panic for the nursery tidying to start Grin

You're gonna laugh but I found a very small puddle of water upstairs and because there was no sign of where it came from, I panicked that my waters might have broken after my shower!! Clearly, it's not as it actually came from under the vinyl floor, but how funny that this was my first explanation? We still don't know where it comes from though, as the puddle is upstairs and any leaks upstairs would damage the ceiling underneath. Puddle Gate will have to wait for the plumber's visit on Monday!

BilboTheAlmighty · 22/11/2014 10:40

Thanks for the link Madrigals

Dec2013mummy · 22/11/2014 11:11

Morning all :)
I need to get sorting today, when I get some energy and Ds is being watched by someone else maybe! He has gone for a nap and I am being very lazy (despite knowing I should use this time effectively)!
Anyone else staring to feel a little on the fed up side... I feel a whole range of emotions right now, from frustrated and impatient to excited! I am kind of worried about how I'll cope with the 2 of them, but in just want baby here so I can get into my swing! I am such an impatient person though. I normally don't wait for anything!

Pesto11 · 22/11/2014 22:14

Yes I can relate to the fed up as well as excited feeling!
And also with the impatience!!!
Just want baby here already!!!

cheshirem2b · 24/11/2014 07:21

Hi ladies!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
We did our first nct day (got more sessions on Tuesday and Saturday) & it was great! learned a lot but met some lovely pg couples who we'll hopefully get to know better.
Today marks the start of my last week in work! I can't wait to finish so I can start nesting and relaxing.

Last week at work!!! Grin

SK28 · 25/11/2014 06:38

Morning all! DH came home drunk-but-lovely last night (infinitely better than drunk-and-annoying!) at 1230 so have been tip-toeing around to get ready for work. Not sure why - these are perfect opportunities to get him used to little sleep Wink

32+1 and people keep commenting that bump has had a growth spurt so I'm obviously looking enormous. I'm definitely much slower now than I used to be, lengthening my already too-long commute to work. But four weeks left means at least mat leave is in sight...

Last night I wrote half my Xmas cards - had been putting it off as I had this irrational fear that I'd write them then baby would come early and I'd have to write them all again - but decided I didn't want to leave that job till much closer to Christmas when we'll have other stuff to do so I just put the irrational fear to one side and got on with it.

Yesterday evening I also cleared the lounge for the painter who was meant to start Monday, then Tuesday and now Wednesday at the earliest... And sorted out our switch to Sky, and did some Christmas shopping, and washed two loads of laundry. Felt v productive!

We pick our new car up today!

Have a super day everyone Smile
