Thank you. Its great having my birthday on Halloween, especially was when I was younger Halloween Grin. Off to my mum's today as its my nephew's birthday too so we're having a joint party. Then DS is staying the night there and DH and I are going out for a meal. AND will get a nice long lay in tomorrow (looking forward to that more than anything else tbh)

Hope your cramps are better today Mrs K

Great news on the scan Tranquility, bet you feel much more confident now Halloween Smile

Phryn · 31/10/2014 07:50

Happy birthday ots Smile Hope you have a lovely day and meal tonight and a wonderful lie in tomorrow.

Lovely news Tranquillity about the scan. I've got my private scan tomorrow and am flipping between nervous and excited.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/10/2014 08:16

Phryn I've got a private scan tomorrow too in battle. It's going to be a race against time as nhs scan is at 1.40 in Eastbourne for my stomach and spline and private scan in battle for the baby is at 3.15. I'll have to miss one if the first is running late. I really don't know which one to chose between if the first is running late. I've got to starve for the stomach scan which I guess isn't a problem as I can't really eat anyway.

Happy birthday ots, Thanks 27 is really not old! lol ??

Gr33dyeggs · 31/10/2014 08:34

Happy birthday ots!

Great to hear your bean is doing well tranquility.

How are you mrsK? I do think you need to go to EPU if you haven't been to A&E. Such a scary thing.

Im shattered this morning despite a reasonable sleep and feeling decidedly off colour and my asthma is beginning to play up. Hope I'm not coming down with something.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 31/10/2014 08:39

Hope you're ok MrsK. Agree that you should get yourself to a&e if it's really bad.
Hopefully everything is fine. Cramping can be totally normal.

jazzyjenbo · 31/10/2014 08:46

Happy birthday ots. And happy halloween everyone else.

MrsK, i hope the pains have settled overnight, either way i think you should get onto epu, tell them the blood was red, they should scan you. I really hope all turns out well for you.

I'm 10+3 now, still no date for scan, MW says hospital is behind on bookings and i might not be seen until 14+ weeks!! That would take us into december and i really can't afford to take time off work around then as i've already got a couple of days off and 2 week hols (self employed so no work=no pay.)
I have a week off in nov aswell so was hoping i would get a date for that week when i will b 12 weeks. Going to try the hospital in abit to see if an appointment has been made yet.

Also had my first out of the blue vomit last night, coughed and sicked up!! Very pleasant!, in all my pregnancies i've never actually been physically sick just constant nausea. I hope this is not going to be the norm for the nxt few weeks.

MrsE my scan is also in Battle tomorrow at 11:30! How funny that we could have met IRL if the timings were different.

Your multiple scan dilemma is a toughy. I know you've really struggled with your health so I wonder whether you should prioritise the NHS scan and get checked out, especially as you might have to wait longer for another appt if you had to rearrange. I know losing the deposit at Battle isn't ideal but it might be better than waiting a long time for the NHS scan.

Alternatively could you call both places and check if there have been any cancellations? You might be able to move the NHS scan to an earlier time (or to Monday or something) and the battle scan to a bit later to give yourself more wiggle room.

Good luck with both. I hope they are helpful and being good news.

MrsKrios · 31/10/2014 08:51

Hi everyone. Pain was awful so I went in last night. She examined me and everything looked ok and was given codeine and told to wait for my scan basically.

Only a few more days now.

Thanks for being so lovely everyone. Happy Halloween Thanks .

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/10/2014 09:17

Phryn that's a very good idea. I really should have thought of that! Can we blame pregnant vacant brain? Lol. I think if all goes to plan we are going to have a 4d scan at about 28 weeks. That does seem a lifetime away at the moment though.

I will chuckle to myself in battle that you were there a few hours before me! Grin

Chookford · 31/10/2014 09:53

phryn and mrsE good luck with the scans tomorrow

mrsK hope you are ok, and everything is now settled

ots enjoy your meal and your lay in tomorrow sounds divine!

bubalou · 31/10/2014 12:13

Hope everyone's ok.

My sickness that was horrendous and then eased over the weekend has been back with a vengeance. Hmm

I am no longer able to eat or drink much at all and feel sick pretty much every minute of the day. So I gave in and called the doctors and they can give me an appointment next Friday!

I said yeah sure - if I'm unable to eat or drink for the next week i would love to make that appointment!

Had a massive crying break down when I got off the phone. Feeling sorry for myself which I know is really self indulgent but I've been like this for 4 weeks now.

I don't know how people cope who get it worse then this.

Hope everyone else is ok. Thanks

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 31/10/2014 12:26

I was going to ask about private scans, my mw app isn't until 13th November and by then we think I ll be 8+5 but no idea when scan will be. So I was wondering whether to have a private scan. Tbh as it's first child I am just so excited and I think that our hospital runs behind with getting appointments.

I've got one small job that I must do today, payroll! Dh had even worked out the overtime for me. Basically ive just got to write an email. But even that seems too hard. I'm really struggling energy wide and my stomach pain means unless I'm bent double over a hot water bottle I'm in huge pain.ive been like this for 4 weeks. I've got to get through another 20 wks before I get my iv iron. How on earth am I going to cope?

Catypillar · 31/10/2014 13:44

DH is in the bad books now!!

He was helping me with my Halloween costume for work this morning (I did a lecture dressed as a skeleton, as you do... two colleagues were pirates and we had students dressed up as all kinds of things- we gave prizes for best costumes to a group of nuns, a banana and Fidel Castro, whom I had to tell off for lighting his cigar in the lecture theatre...) and he stood back, looked at me funny and said "you definitely didn't start looking pregnant this early last time did you, are you sure you're only seven weeks?" my waistline has not changed at all!! Bastard.

Zaccheryquack · 31/10/2014 13:45

Glad you are ok Mrs K and hope everyone else is ok.

Got my scan date through today 28th Nov. So 28 days to wait. By my dates that will make me 13 and a bit weeks before I have a scan!

Also wondering how long everyone is waiting for their blood test results. I was anaemic last time and a bit worried that this time is the same but don't really want to be taking iron unless I absolutely have to!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/10/2014 13:50

Zac you could top up on spa tone. It's a natural iron you drink out of a sachet. I would as the chances are you will if you were anaemic last time.

cuphat · 31/10/2014 13:57

Zac, last time I snacked on dried apricots as I'm vegetarian and read that they're high in iron. My iron levels were fine throughout, and I credit the combination of those and the Pregnacare. Having orange juice with iron rich foods/supplements increases absorption, while tea and coffee prevent iron from being absorbed properly (I don't drink those while pregnant anyway).

cuphat · 31/10/2014 13:59

And to answer your question, I'm not even having any blood tests till 12 weeks. My platelets were low throughout last time, so I imagine it'll be the same again.

Zaccheryquack · 31/10/2014 14:15

Thanks for the advice. Think I will try some sachets as you are probably right and I will be anaemic again! The thought of dried fruit at the moment gives me the heebejeebees! I didn't know apricots were high in iron. I bet I could manage some chopped up in Cous cous though and am craving orange juice so will feel free to have more!

Have reread my last post and was not strictly true as I did have my scan at 7 weeks so should not really complain about waiting until 13 for next one as many of you are waiting patiently until 12 for your first Smile

cuphat · 31/10/2014 14:24

Mine is three weeks today and I'll be 12+1 by LMP (though my early scan dated me ahead of that so I'm pretty sure I'll be put ahead, like I was with DD). My 12 week scan with DD was at 11 weeks so I'm feeling a bit miffed about having to wait till 12 weeks this time! Every week feels like a lifetime at this stage though.

gakay · 31/10/2014 14:26

Hi ladies, can I join (tentatively) please? I'm 7+1 and EDD 18/6 though it's just an estimate cos it's immediately after I came off the pill. Found out a couple of weeks ago but have been bleeding on and off. Had an early scan a couple of weeks ago and saw GS and yolk but no fetal pole. Will have another scan on monday. Am really anxious as apart from bleeding my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared. Started feeling constipated today which makes me really happy and hope it's a positive sign. My OH has banned me from going online but I just want to be with people who are sharing similar experiences.

MsJupiter · 31/10/2014 15:59

Hi everyone. I am bleeding and quite anxious. I don't really know what at do as it's so early and of course I haven't had booking in or anything so no notes etc. tried antenatal at hospital but no reply so I called my doctors surgery and they are calling me back soon. I suppose at this stage there's nothing to be done anyway. I did bleed in my previous pg but this was heavier. It gave me a bit of a shock. I had just spoken to my tummy earlier, first time it had felt real and now this.
