peace me too. Why, why, why????? I'm so bored of nausea. Every time the dog farts, it's like hell in a smell fest.... Ugh.

omama · 10/11/2014 20:05

ooh not long now Chip! Here's hoping baby is on the way soon!

ugh Peace & Rooner is it a bug or have you had nausea throughout? Here's hoping you've had a better day today.

Can't believe am going to be officially full term this week. Shock Am ready for her to come (completely had enough now) but not ready at all at home! Desperate for plaster to dry so I can get her room painted & carpeted so we can get all her stuff out & ready to use!!!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2014 20:14

Think it's to do with baby's position as I'm constantly swinging between wanting to be sick and almost wetting myself!

Last week of work starts tomorrow! Whole day tomorrow and Friday, and two half days on Wednesday and Thursday. Squee! Going into London on Thursday afternoon to go to a Radio 4 recording so am currently researching how not to wet myself when faced with no toilet breaks for at least two hours Shock

Mooorning Jingles! Off to.clinic today. Trapped on a bus with loud voiced, irritating people on way to hospital. :( 12 sleeps till baby day and getting more and more freaked out by it.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/11/2014 09:05

What show are you going in to watch Peace? Both me.and baby love R4. #gimmer

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/11/2014 09:09

For those not on FB, Whatsonemore is being induced today after loosing pretty much all her fluid. Currently taking bets on time baby arrives and birth weight!

espa · 11/11/2014 09:31

More babies! Exciting. 34 weeks today for me, hoping I might only have 4 or maybe 5 to go but no doubt longer!

Lucy90 · 11/11/2014 09:54

Just seen the boots xmas advert with the nurse in and her family have a surprise xmas at midnight. Set me off crying for a good half and hour, had enough of pregnancy hormones now!!
34+1

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/11/2014 12:24

AHHH good luck Whats!! So exciting :)

I'm going to see The News Quiz, squee! I saw it at the Edinburgh festival last year and nearly died of excitement!! It's one of my top three R4 shows :)
I also managed to score tickets to Dilemma in December! I've never been so lucky with applying for tickets before, and it's come at such an awkward time! I'll see how I get on this week and decide if I'm up to Dilemma as well.
Hoping to have a peek at what's left of the poppies at the tower as well if we have time.

Also excited to try out my BOB badge from TFL!

Ooh exciting - babies arriving! Keep us posted as am not on fb.

R4 show sounds good peace - hope u have a great time.

Lucy I am a hormonal mess too! Had a teary ds this morning before school, then at school drop off, then I went to his remembrance service assembly & he got upset when he realised I was there. I held it together for the most part, but so wanted to go & comfort him & couldn't, I ended up in tears aswell! Didn't let him see but felt rather silly infront of the other parents, though I think they felt sorry for me Blush

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/11/2014 14:24

Omg you lucky thing! Have loads of fun!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/11/2014 16:47

Saw my manager for the final time today. She was pretty nice, actually!

Poor whatsonemore is still waiting at the hospital. No news yet!
Had a midwife appointment today and I'm measuring 40 weeks. I'm 37 tomorrow. They've already booked me in for a sweep at 40 weeks. Things are starting to get real!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/11/2014 17:46

Hug I'm measuring three weeks ahead too; hope they don't let me go over!
I can't believe we're at this stage! I'm still not ready!

Best wishes to Whats, do please keep us posted on here with her progress Smile

Had breastfeeding session at NCT tonight. I've learnt that the whole thing makes me feel very queasy. Combined with the biased and one-track-minded lecture we had, I feel abnormal and unnatural. Jolly good. Had a cry and some cheesecake when I got home.
I had to stop myself from asking too many angry questions Confused trying not to alienate the other people in the group - I desperately want to be friends with them, but I find it really difficult to sit back and have shit fed to me without any citations or foundation in science.
I'm totally regretting spending all that money on this course now :(
BLAHHH.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/11/2014 23:08

"The NCT only deals with evidence-based methods" erm, explain why we were told extensively about homeopathy last week..?
Grumble.

OP posts:
Roonerspism · 12/11/2014 00:42

Oh peace. I felt the same after mine. I was actually more cross about the home-birth push, but that's another story....

Take it all with a pinch of salt. Breastfeeding worked for me, despite the crap pushed by NCT and not because of it. If it works for you, then great and if not, it really honestly is not that big a deal.

I know that sounds like patronising shit, but 5 years down the line it really doesn't.

I think you either have the kind if mind that doesn't mind bring fed all this NCT stuff or you don't. I hate being lectured to and I agree the NCT doesn't always approach a lot of it the right way.

Roonerspism · 12/11/2014 00:47

You will also meet mums in the next 12 months who will tell you they practice "attachment parenting" (because the rest of us are clearly are un-attached), that baby led weaning is the only way for anyone to wean or else it's negligence, and that they always co-sleep or that buggies are the devils's invention bla bla. And god forbid should you try a dummy

Just smile and nod....and do it your own way!!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/11/2014 05:59

I didnt do NCT because I cant cope with the preaching. You do things the best way for you. Breast, formula whatever. People will always have their opinions and will just have to share them ardently, but what ypu do, how you parent your child is nothing at all to do with anyone else. Dont let them make you feel miserable. Theres enough guilt in motherhood already. Fucking lentilweavers.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/11/2014 09:08

Yes. Informed DH that I would be attempting feeding and expressing at the same time (the horror) so that he could feed the baby as well. He said, "oh thanks, that'll be nice", so glad he wasn't taken in either! Tbh I'm struggling with the idea of BFing at all at the moment, but hoping I get used to it the way I got used to feeling movements... I've got some sort of issue with "insides" and bodies Confused one of the main reasons I don't eat meat is because it freaks me out that it has skin and bones and veins the same as we do.

I'm just a weirdo Grin

OP posts:
Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/11/2014 09:12

Oh, just remembered another gem from last night: "if you see me in Tesco and you've got a trolley full of formula, don't run the other way and hide!" So you're assuming we'd be ashamed to be formula feeding? Thanks.

And breathe!

Eesh nct seems so hit and miss. I was very lucky and for all sessions was given a balanced view of basically what works for you is best. Very supportive instructors emphasising positivity whatever we decide and focus on giving baby lots of love. Would have been beyond pissed off if lectured at about bullshit.

They failed with the handout by linking vit k with leukaemia whilst saying studies since have shown no link, but that it can't be excluded. Actually I think that's pretty much how scientific research works.
