Just Shagging Grads thread No.13 for upduffed viroids!

Nessalina · 06/10/2014 07:46

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 13th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed! Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy! Grin

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Good grief cookie, time flies! Grin

That's really good to hear Kato Smile My fears about ECV were totally confirmed at NCT tonite, one of the other ladies also found out that her baby is breach, and they offered ECV the same day (without really explaining any of the risks/statistics!). Tried three times with no luck, she said it hurt like hell and she's got bruises all the way around her bump Confused Poor thing!

Really glad the scan went well lauren, fx for you feeling better soon Thanks

Awake. Unimpressed Hmm
Really really really want a McDonalds Breakfast Wrap with ketchup!

wilmabedrock · 14/10/2014 06:24

I'm awake too Ness, not craving McDonalds though. So bloated.

Nessalina · 14/10/2014 06:59

Have settled for Bovril on toast with an indecent amount of butter. Yom.

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 14/10/2014 07:31

Does bovril taste like marmite?

laurenamium · 14/10/2014 07:43

Morning viroids!

Do I need to make an appointment to see the midwife or the GP for anti sickness medication does anyone know? Or will they prescribe it over the phone? In the last 48 hours I've kept down half a banana Hmm and I'm not even keeping fluids down. My head hurts so much. I'm not booked in with the midwife again until 11th November!

Sorry you had such early starts wil and ness! I'm so grateful DD sleeps until I wake her up and just has me up in the night at least I feel like I get a decent sleep in that way!

wilmabedrock · 14/10/2014 07:51

It's not even the toddler Lauren, I just wake up early.

My surgery you phone up and tell them what's wrong and then they either give you a telephone appointment or tell you you need a proper one. Definitely contact gp and not midwife though. That's awful, hope you feel better soon.

RPopz · 14/10/2014 08:12

McDonald's breakfast... boooork. Even I draw the line at that Ness Wink Hope the toast satisfied Smile

GP should prescribe them Lauren ... don't wait for the midwife! xx

Pisghetti · 14/10/2014 08:34

Aw that sounds rough Lauren - hope the GP can sort something out for you today.

I'm only interested in McDonalds before 10.30am. The only problem is it can be very hard to get across that you don't want a sausage in your McMuffin. My personal record is three sausages before they understood that I only wanted egg and cheese. Deep fried hash browns mmmmmmmm..... when I go on mat leave I'm having at least one a week!

Nessalina · 14/10/2014 08:51

Bovril tastes nothing like marmite really, but you use it in a similar way, sparingly spread on toast coz it's quite strong. It's beefy, kind of gravy-flavoured! You can make it into a drink, but I've always had it on toast. I recommend it! Grin

Yeah, call your GP Lauren, and insist on an appointment today, it's really not good for you to be eating so little, you poor thing!

Thanks everyone I'm waiting on a call back from my GP. Luckily the receptionists there are lovely.

I'm making a mental note of bovril to try when I'm feeling better. McDonald's breakfast wraps are delicious. The only thing from McDonalds I could face! I'm only a half day at work today so if DD lets me I might get a nap in before I go sort the horses later Grin

teejayem · 14/10/2014 09:27

ness You inspired me! Felt queasy from the get go this morning, and read your bovril post on the train and I think I drooled a bit.... picked some up on the way into work and I've just had three slices of Bovril on toast. It was delicious!!! xx

minimooo · 14/10/2014 09:28

Morning viroids! Thanks for the well wishes yesterday, sorry I didn't report back - it was a whirlwind day. Scan went really well and bean is bouncing around and waving arms and legs. Amazing experience! I then had bloods taken, fainted twice and had a small fit Hmm so ended up in A&E all afternoon. What a wimp! I was so embarrassed! Anyway, all was fine and we're both just so relieved that the scan was ok. Wow, it actually feels like we might get to have a baby this time!

We then spent the rest of the day telling family because we hadn't told a soul up until yesterday. Lots of congratulations, cuddles and showing off scan pics. Lovely times.

Sorry you're feeling so rough lauren hope the gp can get you some tablets today. That sounds dreadful. Glad your scan went well too. Will they give you another scan to monitor the bleeding?

Glad they were understanding with the ecv ness. I've heard people say before that it's not a nice experience and it often doesn't work. Hope the bovril did the trick with the cravings! I remember my grandad drinking bovril - it always smelt really nice!

minimooo · 14/10/2014 09:36

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I'm a bit further ahead than I thought, so I'm now 12+4 and new due date is 24th April.

Hope the consultant appt goes well today ness!

KatoPotato · 14/10/2014 09:47

Wow min, sounds like a day and a half! Disco baby thanks to disco pants maybe? Hope fainting etc was a one-off?

I remember DH nearly fainted when we went to an appt when I was pg with DS. He has a vein phobia and it was a student who was discussing my 'big superficial veins, hiding my real ones that were bouncing around' Next thing I look and he's turned grey so I 'm telling the student doctor to let him lie down!

My Dad use to make me a cup of bovril with buttered cream crackers to dip in, and i loved it. I also am going to buy myself a jar todayto try on toast or even on cream crackers!

splodge77 · 14/10/2014 09:50

hi all, exciting stuff re scan minimoo. So sorry you're feeling so rank Lauren - hope the GP sorts you out with something. my booking appt was good, v nice midwife. I said a bit about how morning sickness was getting me down but she just made sympathetic noises and said 'hopefully it'll pass soon' - hmm perhaps I should've said more. Well I think I'll see how the next few weeks go and if i'm still a miserable mess I'll go see the doctor. Did a lot of discussing DS's birth at the appointment - midwife suggested an elective CS might be best for me considering some of the stuff that happened last time. I was surprised - i thought they'd push for a natural birth! Anyway its something to think about. Quite like the idea of it all being calm and planned out but not so keen on the recovery period - no driving for 6 weeks!

Nessalina · 14/10/2014 10:02

Hurrah! Bovril power! Grin That'll keep the viroids going!

I'm sat waiting for my consultant appt. The woman next to me blatantly has a streaming cold and is snuffling - I feel bad but I really want to move Blush
Flu jab booked for Saturday!

Glad scan was good mini bar the A&E bit! Grin

Nice to hear that the midwife was being open with your options Splodge. Gives you a bit to think about!

OP posts:
minimooo · 14/10/2014 10:17

Thanks girls! Haha, yes kato I like the thought of a disco baby! I do pass out usually when they take blood/do injections so not unusual for me (goodness knows how i'll ever get through labour!)

Glad to hear your booking in went well splodge. Do go and see your gp if you're not feeling better soon, there's lots of support out there if you feel you need it. Big hugs in the meantime and remember we're all here for you if you want to chat/offload a bit xx

Oh no, ness can you gently slide away from her?!

laurenamium · 14/10/2014 10:21

Good luck with the consultant ness!

FurryScoob · 14/10/2014 10:43

Good scan news mini

Good luck with the consultant ness, try not to breath too much while your waiting!

I need help viroids, I need to ask a midwife/doctor about the aspirin I'm taking. I have no number for my midwife, gp's surgery doesn't have a number for her either & nobody answers the phone at the mat wing of the hospital. How do I get hold of my midwife?

Pisghetti · 14/10/2014 11:08

Furry when I wanted to bypass the GP surgery and talk to the midwife directly I found the number on the health board website. Try googling your health board and check through the maternity services section?

JuniDD · 14/10/2014 11:11

furry that sounds annoying! Keep trying the hospital?

Good luck ness

Congrats on lovely scan mini nothing like seeing a real live baby after previous crappy scans is there?

Hope the GP can sort you out Lauren you take it steady with those horses.

I am going to try to stay off MN for a bit as it's doing me no good but I'll pop in here, definitely. xxx

freshstart4us · 14/10/2014 11:53

ness Bovril sounds brilliant! I'm an Aussie, so Vegemite is the spread of champions in my world, but my amazing English Gran used to make up cups of hot Bovril in winter, it was a-maaazing. Now going to try it on toast! And good luck with the consultant, I am guessing you were awake (worrying?) before your post, hope you manage a nap at some stage today.

lauren that sounds horrendous. FX the GP can sort you out.

mini congratulations on a successful scan, despite the eventful follow-up!

wilmabedrock · 14/10/2014 12:40

Do you still live in Australia Fresh?

I remember my mum tried to get me to drink bovril once as a child and I thought she was mental. Not sure about essentially having gravy on toast, think I'll stick to marmite Grin .

Likewise not on board with the McDs love. I only ever want one when hungover and obv that's not happening at the mo. Have just eaten a pizza though.

Furry can the gp not give you an answer re the aspirin? If you were in Scotland I would suggest NHS 24 or whatever it's called but I hear it's shit in England these days? That's crap they haven't put their phone number in your notes.

TheBooMonster · 14/10/2014 12:42

Bovril is a fairly standard part of our drinks cupboard, but I can't find the cubes anywhere these days, have taken to going to the pound shop to get those pre-measured cups or just using oxo with Worcester sauce :p

We're off to the hospital today, not for me though, DD has an appointment with the dietician and we desperately need her to have stayed on the line between 25th and 9th centiles or gone up as she was firmly in the high 25th before a year and it's been dropping down since. Monkey has refused to eat lunch though which is fab >.> I'm half tempted to fill her up with fruit and chocolate before we go to sneak the measurements up but that won't really help the general situation in the long run... Suspect she'd in the low 9th and they're going to end up having to get the health visitor involved :/
