staceym11 · 11/10/2006 13:05

am back, have managed to stuff the little one full of lunch and pack her off to bed, do most of the washing up (and that was in two lots ) and wrap dds birthday pressies......shes 2 next sunday, i cant believe it she getting so big!

all i can really do now is dh's ironing....i hate shirts so much!!!!

cant get my tumble sorted till dh gets home as he will kill me if i move the cabinet that needs moving or the tumble on my own! lol might get bubba on his way tho!

HopingCat · 11/10/2006 13:14

Bethbe - I don't think it's cheesy to get DH a present. I have bought a newborn top with 'I love Daddy' on the front which I intend to give to DH after LO has been born. I thought he may feel left out if baby and me are getting more attention.

House - I'm nearly 37 weeks and we still have 2 carpets that haven't arrived, one room we have haven't finished painting and one room that is only partly wallpapered. I think we may run out of time too! I start mat leave at end of this week but I haven't got the energy to do all these jobs.

Christmas shopping - I bought my first present today. Am hoping to get most things sorted over the internet. If LO is late I'll get it done beforehand, and if he/she is early I should have more time after. I hope!!

saralou100 · 11/10/2006 13:27

hi everyone!!

so stupid me forgot all about bump last night and walked into the end bit of baby gate, right where bubba's head is... sat on floor and cried like a baby after (pouty lip and everything) got a big scrape and a big bruise and my whole belly aches! but bubs is wriggling around quite happily still so i think i inflicted all the damage on myself!!

crap nights sleep again, but due to dp spent the night throwing up.. apparently i'm not very sympathetic!!

i've tried catching up but i'm confused.. charlee look after yourself and do as your told!!

staceym11 · 11/10/2006 13:33

saralou, snap! i was in a strop at dh and walked off a bit too briskly and caught the handle of the babygate on my bump, bloody hurt, he thought id gone into labour as i couldnt talk just scream in pain! big scrape and bruise too. all dd wanted to do was 'mummy cuddle' while she was crying too coz mummy was crying, poor cow!

Welshgal · 11/10/2006 13:41

Hi everyone, wow, loads to catch up on. I have just had a GP appointment at 36 weeks and everything fine appart from protein plus plus in my urine which she sent off to the lab.
Should I worry, what does it mean?

My parents are visiting tomorrow so have just been vaccuuming and cleaning including scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees, not easy getting back up again, am now sitting on sofa with feet up as they are all swollen and puffy, yuck!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/10/2006 15:16

Im waiting for my bloomin midwife to come! Grrr im feeling soooooooo tense and stressed for absolutlyey no reason, my poor dp and dh!

She only needs to do my b/p as i had to drop the urine sample off up the hospital and she's taking forever to come!!!!!!!!!
Im feeling like crud my head is pounding, i have devloped a mysterious wooshing in my ears and i have the shakes. My mum is being an angel really helping look after us i feel bad coz shes looking after my nan and granddad aswell!

Will keep you posted to tell you what mw says, if she ever comes.

Welshgal protine in the urine can be sign of infection or early signs of pre eclampsa don;t worry though if your b/p was normal and you havent had any excessive swelling or headaches.

Welshgal · 11/10/2006 15:30

Gosh Charlee you don't sound so well, do take it easy, good luck with MW. Have they said whether it is pre eclampsia with you, I saw your earlier post about being in hosp?

I had low blood pressure so hopefully nothing for me to worry about then.

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 15:34

MAMB, I hope the day picked up a bit for you
Stacey, my DH is the same, he won't even let me help carry a bag of shopping in from the car, he doesn't seem to mind me carrying a load of washing up or down stairs though hmmmmm....!
Charlee, I hope the m/w hurries up, it is a PITA when you are waiting for someone to show up who is late.

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 15:42

Charlee, keep your self calm your blood bressure will be high when she comes otherwise and you may have to go back in ! Go pour your self a vodka LOL sorry i'm being mischeivous (sp)?

nj - i have never heard a peep from my wee blighter, just the usual prods and pokes

welshgal - your parents should be doing the cleaning for you, especially with your swollen ankles, that's what mums are for, put yer feet up luv

stacey - haven't quite considered the doulbe buggy thing, dreading it actually, they seem so cumbersome, is there such a thing as an umbrella folding one????

christmas shopping, i've decided this year it's online shopping time this year, tickets and toys, simple.

dp home tonight and not away again until middle of next week so i get some feet up time at long last, hallelujah. also i get to catch up on coro, one of the few thigns we get to do together these days, the romance of it all

morning all... been very proactive here today! been up since 6.30, and have spent most of the morning cleaning.. downstairs is all done, got upstairs planned for this afternoon. don't know why i'm bothering as we're decorating the spare room this weekend so i'm sure we'll create a load of mess then! can't decide at the moment wether to keep spare room as a spare room or turn it into a nursery for lo???????? i can't decide and dp is no help in the decision making process!!

right off to get some breakfast.. gotta get ds ready for nursery then off to b&q's!!

NatalieJane · 12/10/2006 09:27

Morning everyone

Charlee - I hope the m/w went well after all of the palava
Stacey - I know what you mean about getting things sorted, this weekend we have planned to go and get the last few bits, will probably end up putting off due to rain/time/DS/something....!
BM - let us know how you get on, when are you due, if it is towards the end of November, there is still plenty of time for LO to turn.
Debbsy - I have been having trouble getting to sleep, but once I finally drop off, mostly after 1-ish, I am more or less comatosed until DH wakes me up! But I don't have work and driving to contend with, why don't you ask your GP if there is anything you can do, I don't think you can take actual sleeping tablets whilst pregnant, but maybe something like those herbal silent night things (don't know if they are OK either) or if it is stress keeping you awake, what about some of those calm things? I don't know if any of them things are OK in pregnancy, but it might be worth asking your GP/MW.

Well, the best explanation for my LO's click noise is that he is sucking the back of his hand and when he looses the suction it makes a click sound (if you suck the back of your hand and let go sort of mid-suck you will understand the noise I am on about!!) It also explains the numourous bouts of hiccups, I counted 8 separate lots of hiccups in 24 hours the other day! It is a bit strange for me because DS didn't suck anything, except to feed, he never sucked his hand/thumb/fingers/toys/a dummy/well, anything! Must admit it is quite exciting to hear him doing things! LOL It is making it all seem very real!

HopingCat · 12/10/2006 09:35

Morning,

Glad you are mending mygirl.

Can't believe how many people on here have been cleaning recently. Is this nesting instinct appearing, or is everyone just much better at housework than I am?

It's my last day at work today. Not sure I want to leave really, but it will be nice to have more time to get the house finally sorted before LO arrives. I'll be on here next week telling you about all the cleaning I'm doing or possibly not doing.

I like the thought of those clicking noises NJ it seems quite comforting.

On another note from me ... sorry all these bloody symtoms LOL I am getting seems maybe once or twice a day like a muscle spasm in my back quite uncomfortable is this braxton hicks??????

NatalieJane · 12/10/2006 10:18

(Sorry everyone for talking about things you don't know about but...) HC, don't you think it has so so so quickly since we were all on the TTC threads? I have just sent an email to wannaBe, can't believe it was back in January we were all on there together! It seems like yesterday, and here you are about to start maternity leave - it is so unreal!)

Anyway... Mygirl, I am glad your blister is better, I can imagine how sore it was.

And Debz, it is lovely knowing what the baby is up to, it gives us a kind of window into his personality traits, it makes me very excited - and very very scared, 6 weeks left to go, it doesn't seem very long!!!

Debz99 · 12/10/2006 10:23

NJ - In a way I wish I had 6 weeks left, and then on the other hand I want it all over and done with. LOL !

NatalieJane · 12/10/2006 10:28

I know what you mean Debz! When I had 9 weeks left, I felt OK, it was close enough to be for real (IYKWIM?!), but far away enough not to be scary!! Then I kind of blanked the meaning of time out of my head, because it got scary, and now, with the clicking and it making me see there is an actual real baby in there, it has just suddenly hit me again that 6 weeks really isn't very long!
