I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

morning all, I had my appointment at GP today and all went well, I am hoping to get an early scan due to my age etc so we will see what happens. I will be 7 weeks on Friday (I think!) I have only done 1 test, last Friday which said 2-3 weeks so I am sort of planning to do one this friday and hopefully it will have moved on to 3+ weeks. I will be very freaked out if it doesn't though. I am very tired, sinuses are really acting up, sore throat and ears are stuffy. Had exactly the same with dd. I could just crawl into bed now :-( boobs are sore and feel hungover. Hard though it is, I am taking this as a god sign that all is progressing ok...

Hi everyone.

I went to see my GP today. I actually had an appointment to discuss something else but also mentioned about being pregnant. He took my blood pressure and told me to book in with the midwife.

Apparently how they do it in my area is that my details are passed to the midwife and they will call me to arrange a booking in appointment. I asked when I should expect the call but they didn't know when that would be approximately. Doesn't fill me with confidence given some previous experiences I've had with lack of contact from my GP practice.

I think I'm about 5 weeks pregnant. Early days I know! Smile Does anyone know when I should expect the call or any advice on when I should chase them up?

Thanks Smile

My DS is only 20 months and I literally can't remember what happened last time Newgirl!

I think though that after telling my GP I got a letter through the post maybe 2 or 3 weeks later advising me of my booking in appointment (10 weeks I think) and my 12 week scan date (they might have been two separate letters, I can't remember).

I don't think you'll need to chase them up though, as they have a system in place to make sure that you are booked in before your 12 week scan (as you need to have your notes for the 12 week scan and you get those at your booking in appt). And of course there is quite a slim window where you need to have your 12 week scan (I think its between 11 and 13 weeks).

Newgirl33 · 15/10/2014 14:27

Thanks Jackie - I'm sure a lot has happened since your DS was born!

For now I shall just carry on as normal! I get some cramps in the morning but other than that feel no different.

The GP said to avoid raw foods. I miss sushi already!! I assume he didn't mean raw fruit and veg! Grin

jazzyjenbo · 15/10/2014 14:30

Afternoon all,
Nice to see u on here haribo, think we are both more or less the same and floating on both buses!!... My dates have me in May, scan said 1st June.

Today is my ds 4th birthday, i can remember his birth vividly and just don't get the 'you forget the pain' business! Lol but here i am again so it can't b that bad Shock

So along with lighting his 4 birthday candles i'll also light a candle for my lost baby. I have a candle with the babyloss ribbon on it.

Birdiegirl · 15/10/2014 15:03

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't read everyone's posts, hope you are all well.

I went for a private scan today. It was great saw the little heartbeat and little bean is measuring 7+4 which means my actual due date is 30th May!

Am I to be thrown out of the June group now? Please don't make me leave, I'll be good I promise Wink

Hi everyone

Congrats birdie that's great news!

I saw my gp today too and have my scan at the epu this Friday im already crapping myself! I don't want to go.... But know I need to just to make sure everything is ok in there!

Hope everyone is good, sorry haven't had time to catch up on all posts!!

PerpetualStudent · 15/10/2014 18:25

I'm the same Chookford - have my private scan tomorrow (7+2) and am freaking out. It's stupid as I booked it, and paid for it, and - as my DP points out in the nicest way possible - finding out doesn't change anything and there's nothing I can do about it.

But still, I'm dreading the thought that I might drag myself across town at the end of a tiring day, go through all the discomfort and expense just to see... nothing Confused

Someone slap me please....

sparkle17 · 15/10/2014 18:46

No slaps for you, it is fine to be feeling the way you are. Good luck tomorrow. I cant decide when to book my private scan.

Chookford · 15/10/2014 18:47

Right there with you perpetual I want to hide under my duvet and just emerge to happy news... Unfortunately I know I can't and have to face this.. As you said I can't change the outcome but do need to know if everything is ok, on Friday I may have to be dragged kicking and screaming to that hospital though!!

Sure all will be fine tomorrow for you, is your scan in the evening?

PerpetualStudent · 15/10/2014 18:54

Thanks ladies! It's at 4:30pm - keep your Fx for me!

Chookford that's exactly how I feel - want to stay under my duvet until I am about 7 months with a massive bump kicking all around!

Sparkle17 my place said 7 weeks is the earliest they could do it, so I reckon if you could hold off till 8+ weeks you'd be likely to see more/there would be a higher percentage of things carrying on fine if they looked good then?

Chookford · 15/10/2014 18:57

Will keep everything crossed for you perpetual

MrsPopple29 · 15/10/2014 19:38

Hi everyone,

Can I join please? I got my BFP two days ago and according to the GP am due around 25th June. Am going to look into having a private scan too as I really don't think I can wait 12 weeks! What's the typical cost to have one?

Haven't got many symptoms yet, lots of crampy twinges and am exhausted all the time. Still expecting my period to turn up unexpectedly, especially as my period tracker says I'm not even due on til tomorrow... however the clear blue digital on Monday said 2-3 weeks!

sparkle17 · 15/10/2014 19:45

Welcome mrsp my af was due monday or Tuesday so glad I've got over that mini hurdle!

impatienceisavirtue · 15/10/2014 20:14

mrspopple they can be as cheap as £40, the one I'm having is (though more at weekends)

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/10/2014 20:24

Am I the only one not having an early scan? I would love one for the reassurance and to make this all feel real but just can't really justify the cost when there is nothing to imply that anything is wrong. I'm very fortunate that I've never had a mc or anything like that so maybe I'm being stupidly complacent. I do feel a bit anxious about it all but there is no reason for me to feel like that.
I did have early scan in last pregnancy but that was to rule out ectopic because of really bad cramps at one side.
Just have to wait until 12 weeks and hope everything is ok I guess.

impatienceisavirtue · 15/10/2014 20:37

guybrush I had two mcs earlier this year. Twelve weeks is too long to wait wondering for me after that, so I'll be having an early scan so I don't go insane.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/10/2014 20:48

So sorry to hear that. Hope you don't think I was questioning anyone else's choice to have one! I would love the reassurance and totally understand it. I just can't really afford it!

AnythingNotEverything · 15/10/2014 21:06

Guybrush I had one at 11 weeks last time but my NHS scan wasn't until almost 15 weeks and I needed to start telling people as I was starting to show!

I'm not intending to have one this time but wouldn't rule it out.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/10/2014 21:13

Guybrush I can't imagine I'll be having a private scan. In my area they tend to do 2, one at about 11-12 wks and then another at 20wks. I had an early scan last time due to bleeding and pain one side. Was told to begin with it was a phantom pregnancy. It wasn't! This time I'm considering going private for care. But I don't see the need to have an early scan. I may however have a 3D scan later on.
