kitty, glad you've had a lovely scan and everything is fine. It's so much better than my scan at 7 weeks. Can't wait for my 12 week one.
Fifi, hope your bleeding is also innocent. I would get to the EPU tomorrow if you can.
Nothing to report for me. Just 8+4 so still over 3 weeks til 12 week scan and I can tell everyone.
My dad announced it in the pub on Friday to his friends (I've told very close family) and my friend was sitting having a meal next to them with her H so overheard. She texted me congrats. My dad has such a big mouth! I really didn't want anyone to know outside immediate family.

How many of you are planning a big Facebook announcement at 12 weeks? I'm undecided because I've waited 3 years for this moment so it would be a big thing for me but I don't want to upset anyone I know who may be secretly going through infertility. Also I think it's classier not to say anything on Facebook at all and just stick a picture of the baby on. People who are close would find out anyway.

I won't be sticking anything on Facebook until after twenty weeks and the anomaly scan. I'm conscious that 12 weeks isn't home and dry and would rather not jinx it! I'm also very aware of people trying, having fertility issues and miscarriages etc. I doubt they will appreciate it being on there.

But on that note we will need to set up a Facebook group soon! I reckon we leave it until we are a month or so down the road?

So hard keeping it a secret isn't it Turquoise!? Had to tell work finally today.

To be honest, you should do whatever you want announcement-wise. TTC and infertility is hard and painful as you well kow and I learnt to just stay off Facebook rather than make my friends feel bad (stayed off for 7 months in the end!) I don't plan on a Facebook announcement but would never begrudge anyone their special moment, especially after 3 years!

Hi everyone.

Great scan kitty, so clear! fifi you're being so calm which is great, and if the spotting continues a trip to epu tomorrow should put your mind at rest.

I had my booking apt today. All went well and the lovely me has booked me an early scan for next mon to help with my mc anxiety. I felt like a fraud for some reason & had to keep biting back giggles, wtf! I remember when I got the date for this apt thinking I'd never make it this far.

Since this is our last DP wants to do a cheesy announcement on Facebook, he wants to do a movie trailer since I'm due May 4th!

I'm less keen, drawing attention to myself is not my style lol.

I'm more than happy to set up a Facebook group, I already admin the general Mumsnet one as well as my MN local one, I've found my last postnatal fb group invaluable.

Definitely up for the fb group Bean, we're not doing NCT this time so it'll be great to have friends to share the newborn experience with.

Definitely up for a fbook group. My July 13 one is mega active - I love it!

I'll set it up and let you all know the name to search and the picture, then if you click to join I'll accept you and we can have a sticky so we all know who we all are.

Im still on the august 13 fb group its great I love it and post daily. So id be up for a may group too :)

Kitty i'm so glad after a stressful 24 hours everything was fine. What a fab picture!

I'll be doing a FB announcement. I've got friends all over the world and it's alot easier to tell them all in one go!

Should we leave the FB group until after the 12 week scans? I'm just worried that if anyone was to get bad news before then and then felt they had to leave it would be sad. Just an idea though :) i love my October 13 FB group.

It's called May 2015 Antenatal and Beyond you should be able to search it but you should to be able to join unless approved by another member.

Evening everyone :) Hope good weekends were had, i've felt rotten and had a headache yesterday so couldn't face coming on. Symptoms are getting worse here but I'm taking that as a good sign

sorry you're so worried wuthering but I've known people who've had no symptoms at all - in fact my mum didn't get a positive on her pregnancy test with my sister until she got to about 5 months gone! She was her third and she had no idea she was expecting

I did the fb announcement with DS but i'm not sure about this one. Plenty of time to think about it though! I'll most likely do it but I'll have ds in his funky t-shirt holding the scan pics :) Or something else but along those lines

I set it to be closed but not secret... I'll have a double check.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, it is set to be closed so you can find it and request to join but non members can't see posts.

It has a little cup of coffee as the symbol and is called in full, May 2015 Antenatal and Beyond.

Hopefully being set to Closed non members won't be able to see any posts so we're all safe but I completely understand not wanting to post until 12 weeks, I'm not planning on telling my Facebook world until then either.

With closed groups FB friends will be able to see you joined the group, even though they can't see the posts. The name is a bit of a give away! I'll wait until i'm further along :)

Would rather join a secret group on fb, so also leaving it for now. I don't like what I do on the internet visible to other people I know!

Pleased everything turned out well Kitty after a stressful and worrying 24 hours - the scan picture is great and its good to see as we are at the same stage what bean looks like now!

Hello everyone. I'm pleased to say my sickness has abated this morning - and I managed to have a fruit smoothie for lunch! The first time anything non grey/white has passed my lips in weeks. Yum! I agree Facebook group sounds good - i would rather it was a secret group that we get added to as don't want it on Facebook that I'm pregnant. I didn't put anything on there until the baby was born last time. We loved announcing it with a baby picture and as we are ex-pats some people who are older friends we don't keep in close contact with were quite surprised.

Up and at it this morning for a 3 hour drive to London for work! Feel like something died in my mouth overnight, but off I go, looking forward to my midway drive thru Starbucks!
