Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CheerfulYank · 30/09/2014 19:37

Jazzy I just have three (plus my 2, one of whom is at school) three days a week. The two toddlers are sleeping now and the the four and five year old are watching a bit of a DVD...I may have "rested my eyes" for ten minutes on the couch beside them. :)

KittyVonCatsington · 30/09/2014 19:57

Evening ladies! Grin

Lovely pics of scans to come home to!

Tori I have been wearing my sports bras ever since I found out I was pregnant as my boobs hurt so much in a normal bra! Wouldn't mind some prettier maternity bras for comfort and style but being only an A cup, I can't justify spending money now when I know I'll need to later!

Tits Can't help you there, but hope you get some relief soon.

I've cut out caffeine but that's only because it makes me quesy now! Have been drinking Roibos tea and water instead. Probably contributing to my tiredness!

aberjen · 30/09/2014 19:58

Evening ladies Smile

So sorry to hear of more losses. Take good care of yourselves Flowers

piglet the only reason I'm not drinking tea and coffee at the mo is because the thought of it makes me feel sick. Once I get past the first trimester, I'll be back on it (within reason)

tits there are things your GP can prescribe. This is from nhs website: If antacids and alginates do not improve your symptoms of indigestion, your GP may prescribe a different medicine that suppresses the acid in your stomach. There are two acid-suppressing medicines that are safe to use during pregnancy:
ranitidine
omeprazole
As with antacids and alginates, follow the dosage instructions on the patient information leaflet or packet.

ginger did you enjoy your fancy restaurant dinner? I need details! Love food (usually...) and really want to go to a Michelin-starred place one day.

Getting a bit more organised here - made booking appointment for 2 weeks time and got scan date through - 30 oct, which is aaaaages away! I'll be 12+1 then.

Back to work this week, and feeing v sick and sorry for myself. And tired! 7.45 is a socially acceptable bedtime for thirty-something year old, right?!

jazzyjenbo · 30/09/2014 20:02

Lol ... We hav slightly different school ages and rules here in uk, we are only allowed 3 under reception class age (they start school at 4 here) so i only have space for 1 other child on top of my own 2 and 3 yr old... However 1 parent changed work days and as the child would of left and is settled you are allowed to extend your numbers ... I dont have any minded kids mon, tue apart from afterschool and then wed, thur, fri, i'm busy entertaining 3 2yr olds and my 3 yr old plus afterschool kids... I'm wiped out, lol to the nodding off watching dvd, i wish i could do the same... These first few weeks are madness arnt they, i'm always grwat between 12-20wks.. Then get tired again.

Kyz · 30/09/2014 20:04

Evening all :)

Thanks noroom and BB01 for the coffee suggestions :) I'll get a couple of small jars and try things :) I'm having a hot choc tonight, I made it a nightly thing when pregnant with ds and i'll do the same again rather than have a mug of coffee before bed. I was a serial coffee drinker, up to 10 cups in a day, so it's hard for me to cut down so much! Once I had my implant removed and was TTC i got it down to 2-3 cups a day so not too bad I guess!

sorry to those of you having a wobbly day :( Hopefully it'll get easier for all of us the further along we get and once we've had reassuring scans etc :)

tori I have had to move along on the catches at the back already, i'm hoping i don't need to go bra shopping quite so soon!

piglet i'm still having my morning cup! Well, i've still been having a couple of cups a day actually, but I want to cut it down to just the one in the morning hense the hot choc and decaf goings on :) Last time I went right off coffee anyway so I'm wondering if i'll do the same again this time

made sense to me mslad I too have ditched the red undies for similar reasons!

that's brill Catnap :)

tits no help but hope you manage to get hold of something!

oh yes, very acceptable aberjen I shall be in bed by 9pm!

aberjen · 30/09/2014 20:09

kyz 9?! Stopout! Shock Wink

winnie1981 · 30/09/2014 20:24

Evening all, I also had a dating scan today she was spot on 8+2!

Tits, I take omeprazole daily for acid reflux and have done for the past 3 years. It was fine when I was pg with dd so I assume it's fine this time.

Feeling slightly better with the nausea, although it's still coming in waves but doesn't seem as severe.

Have my booking in on Thursday too!

Turquoisetamborine · 30/09/2014 21:05

Congrats on your scan too Winnie!
I'm very much in awe of the childminders. I really couldn't have the energy to do that at the moment. I suppose you have to get on with it though.
I'm out for an Indian with work this week and as I have to be back early to collect son from mam's, I have the perfect excuse not to drink. It's a BYO place so they will all be trollied I bet. The next work do will be 4 days before my 12 week scan and I really didn't want to announce it at work before then. These are normally all day food and drinking sessions so I'm not sure what to do. My boss knows and my two best work friends so I might pretend to be in a round with them.
It looks so obvious though doesn't it??

TinyDancer01 · 30/09/2014 21:52

Hi all, congrats to those who have had scans, managed to look on a PC earlier so got to see the pics for a change Grin makes me feel positive to see others have good news.

I can't help with coffee as I don't drink it but I have a really bad diet coke addiction!! Not had one sip since my BFP to give my little bean the best chance I can (mmc paranoia coming into play again!)

Thanks to those who helped with my paracetamol dilemma earlier. Took some but it's not helped at all. Trying to find out if I can use Vicks on my chest over night but the info online is so conflicting. Even the Vicks website says check with your doctor. So annoying, just want to get a decent nights sleepSad

ElisaGirl · 30/09/2014 23:36

Congrats to everyone with happy scan news Smile.

Not such great news here I'm afraid. Started having cramps and light spotting yesterday which continued today so I went to the doctor. She referred me straight to A&E and the on call gynaecologist for a whole load of tests. External ultrasound showed gest. sac but could see nothing in it or find any heartbeat, so have to go back in the morning for internal scan and trip to consultant to get results of blood work. Been prescribed duphaston and diagnosed as threatened mc.

Feel pretty helpless but DH has been wonderfully supportive. Now really need to rest but cannot sleep at all (it's 2.30 am here)...

Turquoisetamborine · 01/10/2014 02:33

Where are you Elisa? So sorry to hear that. Depending how far along you are though it's hard to pick it up so early without an internal scan.

My SIL was saying today you wouldn't believe how much she has bled this pregnancy and there she is at 40 weeks. It was because of placenta bravia (sp) with her. I hope it turns out well for you.

Fluffeh · 01/10/2014 06:35

Lovely to hear of all the positive scans! It's starting to seem a little more real now.
I had my GP appointment with a GP I don't respect much as when DD was just 6 months she asked me why I was "still" breastfeeding!! I told her about my cramps and tiny bit of brown spotting and she suggested a uti so took a urine sample. Maybe it is that but I doubt it as I have no pain when I pee or any other symptom.
She did say that my referral to caseload midwife team had been sent and I should hear from them in the next week so that's something.
I tried to bath the kitten and let's just say he didn't enjoy it haha but DD loved it and wanted to get in with him.
I am a massive caffeine addict since DD was born (I needed it to seat awake) and have cut down by alternating ordinary tea with decaf. I now have 3-4 real teas and 3-4 decafs a day. Has anyone found a nice decaf tea? That tastes like tea not water?

Elisa - fingers crossed the internal scan shows things better.

KittyVonCatsington · 01/10/2014 06:35

Oh Elisa Poor love. The waiting is the absolute worst. I'll be thinking of you today Thanks

This may sound insensitive considering what Elisa is going through, but I am 9+4 and this morning after getting out the shower and drying off, I noticed my tummy has suddenly got really hairy! And I'm not blonde...Grin Is this happening to anyone else? Will be interested if it does happen to anyone else in the coming weeks Smile

bradders85 · 01/10/2014 06:59

I'll be thinking of you today Elisa

Kitty - I'm 9+4 like you and the only thing I noticed when getting out of the shower this morning was my bigger tummy - think it's all wind!! Blush

Titsalinabumsquash · 01/10/2014 07:37

Urge, I spent the night throwing up nothing! I had nothing in my stomach. I at 2 slices of bread at about 7.30pm then by 9.30 I was being sick because of my stomach being empty! Confused I can't eat all night for goodness sake!

Also, my awesome pelvic floor muscles have all but vanished since becoming pregnant so I have to be very careful when being sick that I don't wee myself Blush

On a more cheerful note, it's my Nan's 99th birthday today and she wants to go to lunch to "that lovely posh shop with the salad trolley" ..... she means The Harvester Grin

She's one of my favourite people in the world so I'm glad to be spending my lunchtime with her.

BB01 · 01/10/2014 07:58

Fluffeh I can't believe your gp said that about breastfeeding! How uneducated. I had a UTI last pregnancy and had no symptoms - think it's common.

BB01 · 01/10/2014 08:03

Very sorry to hear that Elisa, really hope it all turns out ok. It certainly sounds like they're on the ball with everything where you are x

Thanks all for your thoughts, that's very kind.

turquoise I'm in Dubai, moved out here from the UK about 2 weeks ago. I'm 9+1 today so would have thought you'd see something on the external scan. I have an appointment at 1.30 so will just have to hold on.

Jenni2legs · 01/10/2014 09:30

I know it's too soon to be buying things, but I bought something. They are called cheeky wipes and I thought I'd share as they are 25% off today. Grin
They are reusable baby wipes and from the testimonials on the site they look really good.

BeanCalledPickle · 01/10/2014 12:25

Bloody LOVE cheeky wipes. Used them religiously for both bottoms and then got a hands and faces kit when we started weaning

ElisaGirl · 01/10/2014 12:37

Hi ladies,
We've had confirmation that I've suffered an mmc and sadly, our baby died at 6.5 weeks. Have been booked in for an ERPC tomorrow morning.
I will be so sad to leave such a happy and positive thread but wish you all wonderful and successful pregnancies xx

Mslad · 01/10/2014 12:45

Oh Elisa I'm really so sorry to hear this. Nothing I can say will make you feel better, but take this time to grieve and from my experience, time was the only thing that made me feel better. I wish I could give you a big hug. Take care and hope you'll get your sticky bean soon. xxxxx

CheerfulYank · 01/10/2014 12:46

So sorry Elisa. Hugs and Thanks

aberjen · 01/10/2014 12:52
