Congrats slide lovely news to wake up to. What a little dot he isSmile.

Same discussions in our house re booze! You do a better job than me holding your tongue, I constantly make comments! My DH never attends appointments with me, I remember being upset with him when we had our first as he didn't seem as interested I that side if things. He explained that he didn't have that connection with it at this stage. To be fair, at the birth of DD and DS he was great, and is a very hands on Dad so I wouldn't worry that it's indicative of him being less involved when baby's born.

I get the serious thoughts at 3.30am every morning which seems to be my new wake up time! I'm awake for an hour and a half every night. I worry about giving birth, decide I don't want to do it and wonder what the hell I'm doing facing sleep deprivation and hormonal carnage again Grin

pinkfizzsparkles · 15/09/2014 07:42

Good luck today fedup. It could come today, it's your second and if you've been contracting all night so that's a good sign. Keep us posted

cabster · 15/09/2014 07:55

Congratulations slide! X

BadgerInBury · 15/09/2014 07:59

Congratulations Slide! Little tootie :)

Fingers crossed for a better day for you today, fedup

cabster · 15/09/2014 08:06

Bingo I felt the same way after hearing about the dog home fire, utterly despondent. Then I heard about the public response, a million raised, people jamming up the M6 to bring donations... There is good in the world! Just make sure you seek out both, it's easy to be bombarded with nothing but negative messages by the media.

cabster · 15/09/2014 08:07

Keeping everything wide open for you fedup (rather then crossed) x

Off for my presentation scan now! Thanks for all the debate on ECV, if it comes to it I think Ill offer them one go at it, and one go only.

Me23 · 15/09/2014 08:17

slide many congratulations! What great news, also can't wait to see a pic of your little boy Smile

fedup sounds like things are starting for you best of luck!

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 15/09/2014 08:24

Congratulations, slide! Can't wait to see a pic.

fedup don't feel bad for having conflicting emotions. Do what's right for you today and look forward to meeting your baby. Hope you can get some rest somehow and good luck with everything x

Captainmcgraw · 15/09/2014 08:32

Congratulations and well done Slide!

All the best Fedup, hope it's not too much longer now.

First day of maternity leave here and I only woke twice last night! Feeling good.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 15/09/2014 08:45

Aww congratulations slide on your little dinky boy!

Hope things get moving for you fedup.

fatpony · 15/09/2014 08:52

Aw a new baby! Congratulations slide!

Re the drinking, we were told at NCT the other night to NOT drive to
the hosp as there is very little parking there. We should take a taxi instead. It's always an option if you live in a city?

Weighed myself for first time in weeks and i've put on 18-20lbs at week 35. Wondering how I am going to shift this after! Does breastfeeding really help people to slim down or is it and old (mid)wives' tale?!

ohthegoats · 15/09/2014 09:02

Oddly I have absolutely no concern about my boyf being fine once the baby arrives. He's an all or nothing kind of bloke, hence not so good on the moderation of booze.

fedup fingers crossed it moves on quickly for you

Shirehobbit · 15/09/2014 09:03

Congratulations SlideIn and welcome little Mr SlideIn Flowers

Hugs fedup hope you get some rest and I'm sure your LO will be just fine x

Grannyapple · 15/09/2014 09:04

Aw huge congrats slide!

hefner · 15/09/2014 09:05

Congratulations slide!

Hope you manage to get some rest fedup. You've had such a rough time lately, you definitely deserve an easy birth!

I'm grumpy this morning. It's my first day of maternity leave and I need to get started on writing an article I've been putting off for ages. I'm a really bad procrastinator and I'd much rather do anything but get on with my work, but I want to get it done so that it's not hanging over me. Grr, I'd rather be at work!

puppythedog · 15/09/2014 09:13

Wow congratulations Slide from us 'thedogs'. Utterly amazing :-)

Good luck Fedup, look after yourself, that has to be a part of parenting right?

My thoughts have strayed to LouLou a few times recently. Whatever is going on for you, if you are reading this thread, I hope you are okay and being loved and supported. I'll bet reading this thread can be conflicting at times. We're. Here if we can help.

I'll post some thoughts later on what I think about Dad's role in pregnancy if that's okay.

Pregnantagain7 · 15/09/2014 09:15

Awww congratulations slide what lovely news Flowers

Good luck fedup hopefully a bit of a slow start means when you get into established labour you will fly along fingers crossed foe a nice quick, easy birth for you :)

I'm sooo tired today an afternoon with the in laws yesterday followed by a bad night is not what I needed :(

Georgebythesea · 15/09/2014 09:15

Aw congratulations Slidein So exciting! :) Must be so amazing finally getting to cuddle your baba!
I'm so fedup of being pregnant now..37.2 and counting! But I don't want him to come this week because our doula is away and my SO works 2 hours away.My lower back constantly hurts,I have terrible heartburn/reflux(nothing helps) and just really very tired! I was 10 days early so hoping he will follow suit.
Tried the perineum massage and found it very uncomfortable but I guess will try again-is anyone managing to do it?

STIGZ · 15/09/2014 09:25

Many congratulations slide to you & your familyFlowers & maybe a Wine soon Grin cant wait to see him

goats i was being wheeled down to surgery at 9cm dilated and remember by oh saying "is this happning tonight?" The midwife's respose was "this is happning now" ... Bless him still thought he had ages to go, how wrong he could be! He is honestly mentally scarred from that night and really dont think men will "get the pregnancy thing" until its nearly over ...

fedup cant wait to hear your happy news ... Im sure it wont be long now xx

MrsBadCrumble74 · 15/09/2014 09:39

Congratulations Slide - wow what fantastic news. So happy for you Flowers

Good luck fedup - hope everything goes smoothly for you.

mum2kiss · 15/09/2014 09:57

Congratulations slide. Our first "october" boy! I feel for you having to go through those final contractions without epidural! I think you probably had it worse in that you did have a working epi at some point! Glad you have your little bundle now though:)

My thoughts have been on loulou too. Hope you are ok!

mum2kiss · 15/09/2014 09:58

My braxtons hick usually feel like they are suffocating me (not enjoyable) but lately I've had the odd few where my back throbs at the same time...Could this be because baby is b2b?

MundayCakes85 · 15/09/2014 09:59

George I've tried a few times and found it very uncomfortable. Only managed to get one hand down and around the bump!!
Fatpony I've piled on the stones pounds, not sure how I've gained so much, and hoping a lot is water retention seeing as my feet/ legs have gotten huge.
Fingers crossed it'll come off eventually Confused

Congratulations slide! Grin

Bumpforme2014 · 15/09/2014 10:21

Congrats slide and good luck fedup! First day of maternity leave here, did nothing yesterday so didn't sleep great, had last growth scan this morning and she is growing well, just under 6lbs now :-)

Got washing to do today, still don't feel like she is engaged so think I've got couple of weeks yet which is a nice thought.
