LadyTophamHatt · 06/10/2006 08:06

sit on the sofa and eat chocolate.

LadyTophamHatt · 06/10/2006 08:06

or cake.

LadyTophamHatt · 06/10/2006 08:06

actually, eat both.....

MotherBeaker · 06/10/2006 08:58

And then follow that by a giant bag of Maltesers. Morning everyone, forgot to go and see the magazine yesterday but will definitely look out for it today.
tr - congrats on the girl, sorry to hear about the scan but I am sure everything will turn out to be fine. I don't think the sonographers know how much they scare us when they say "Oh this is looking a little bit strange, or this is slightly bigger/smaller" when they mean that it is only slightly outside of normal. As you say, best idea is to not worry too much about it until the next scan, it will only make you feel stressed and upset.

Already eaten half a choc bar today, have promised myself that I am going to give it up after the birth - already part of my brain is saying haha - no chance.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

lulu25 · 06/10/2006 09:38

I had ice cream for breakfast, I think chocolate before noon would be taking the p*

LadyTophamHatt · 06/10/2006 10:02

Lulu....you must know by know that being PG is lisence to eat anything, at any hour of the day, in whatever quanity you desire.

Come on woman...you're 6 months in now....these are the rules!!

elliepmonstermummy · 06/10/2006 10:19

I am at work today got here at 8.30 moaning I was starving, still moaning at 9.00 so one of my work colleagues has been to M&S and bought me a double chocolate muffin (with melted runny chocolate in the middle) and a hot chocolate from the cafe yum yum I forgot why I liked coming to work till today!

lulu25 · 06/10/2006 11:29

I have seen sense and I am currently finishing the rest of the ice cream.

2MwahHaHaHappy · 06/10/2006 11:31

I am going to mil and pils for lunch. I'd rather eat ice cream (actually, I'd rather eat nettles, but there you go )

jessddibs · 06/10/2006 14:29

Trinity - Another pink bump in the club! Any name ideas?? Sorry to hear your news though. Thinking of you.x. Keep us all updated.

I enjoyed a lovely indian take away last night (king prawn chillie tikka masala... along with vegetable curry, bit of dh's chicken curry, rice and nann bread) it was heaven...untill the bloody heartburn, wind and piles kicked in!!!!! I have still got heartburn now 19 hours later! And can hardly walk or sit because of the pain in my bottom!! The joys of being pregnant. Will go back to 'normal' diet tonight...followed by some Mackies ice-cream...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

elliepmonstermummy · 07/10/2006 14:41

Hope the heartburn is better Jess!

Well DD gone for the weekend couldnt wait to leave had her shoes on 10 minutes before my mum and dad got here, they rung the bell she picked her bears (they go everywhere) up and got her little trolley case and just said bye mummy! Charming thought she might be a bit upset as shes got a rotten cold at the moment but the thought of a weekend with grandad and nanny seemed to make that better. DH at work till 5ish so I'm MN all afternoon (in between eating choocolate and flicking thru OK!!)Then of out with friends for chinese tonight (may need to have a nap before that!)

Hattie2 · 07/10/2006 15:29

I wish my dd was away for the weekend! Went out for a friends 40th last night and so a bit of a late night. Lying on the sofa with a box of maltesers is about all I feel up to this afternoon.

magnolia - all I can say is 'wow' - What a fab picture! Was anyone else on here buying First in Sainsbury's in Hampton yesterday by any chance? Two of us picked it up and flicked straight to the same article!

tr - congrats on the pink news, fingers crossed for the next scan x

elliepmonstermummy · 07/10/2006 15:35

Hattie this thread has a habit of mentioning maltesers and every time I raed it I want some so may well pop up the shop now!!

I got my copy of first and showed DH who said do Iknow her then when I explained he was like 'oh' don't think he really gets what MN is about! Were any of the other women inthe article MN, if so what are there MN names? I thought UD did the shoot but can't work out if shes in there?

magnolia1 · 07/10/2006 19:23

Urban did do it but she's not in there!! Not sure why though??? There was another mum from here but she is on the due Feb thread I think.
The reaction from Dh's family is a bit mixed. Mostly think its great but his cousin and husband saw it and said to him 'Why did you let her do it!?'

Jealous so and so!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2006 09:38

what?? magnolia...you mean you didn't get permission from DH first??

"let her do it".....WTF???

laughalot · 08/10/2006 13:14

Hi ladies not been on for a few days iv been full of cold but feel much beter now. Must go and get a copy of that magazine next week and feel sick at he sight of you magnolia sounds like your a stunner and no streach marks im so lol. Well dh went up into loft other day and got all my baby bits down had a rummage through ds old cloathes and have managed to find a few white bits that should be ok for a girl loads of litle white vests and things, iv washed and pressed them all so I now feel like im getting there I thought at one point I might never feel like sorting stuff out but cot is up baby bouncer all been cleaned down, baby bath and change mat out so ready for the off well after my christmas dinner is fine . Started to buy napies also formula milk as I had a terrible experiance trying to feed my ds and I dont want to repeat it so im going for the bottle option I also feel because he is still young and needs my attention that if I did breastfeed he wouldnt have any time with me. Well hope you are all well.

laughalot · 08/10/2006 13:16

Sorry my spelling gets worse

elliepmonstermummy · 08/10/2006 14:46

Just a bit of info if anyone is going to use pampers newborn size 1 nappies. In this weeks copy of 'OK' Boots have a one page advert about pampers offers in store. In the bottom right hand corner it shows a picture of the newborn pack of nappies but shows the large pack (56 in pack) says on offer from £3.74 to £2.99 I know this is a error as its the smaller size packs that are that price (think its 28 in a pack).

Anyway went into boots this morning and took the advert with me (says offer is from the 24thsept to 24th oct) and picked up the 5 packs of nappies they had in stock got to the till they scanned as £6.98 showed the assistant the advert she says its an error but goes to speak to management they say it is obviously a print error and I explained not my fault and they are advertising this size pack at £2.99 and he agrees to override it so got all the packs at £2.99 plus extra advanatage card points as thats part of the offer on this size pack yippee!! Also had 4 £1 off pampers vouchers from bounty bag so where it should have cost around £35 got 282 nappies for £11!! Worth ago if you have a copy of this weeks Ok and a boots nearby and don't mind arguing about false advertising!

jessddibs · 09/10/2006 07:28

elliepmonstermummy - I have got OK! but I just could not go and blag my way through it like you, well done though! that is a right result!

Laughalot - You are well organised!!! I havn't done a single thing yet! We have got to decorate, it is desparate! We have got to get all the baby gear out of mil's loft and sort, And we have got to get a new car, we can't phisically fit in ours cause it's a sports car! But the problem is, that we cannot get credit at the mo...long story...dh's business problems...so am really not sure how that one is all gonna work out!?! Feel REALLY,REALLY unorganised now after reading your post!

No other new here....
Hope everyone had a good weekend.x.x

MotherBeaker · 09/10/2006 09:27

Morning everyone!
Have just spent a great weekend feeding my face. I was reading somewhere that apparently at this stage the baby squashes the stomach so that you don't feel like eating very much but that obviously hasn't happened to me yet as I still need two lunches and lots of snacks.

Also spent a rather lovely weekend chasing my baby's foot around my belly and feeling the tumbles and kicks.

Am starting to have real trouble sleeping though. Can't sleep on my stomach, can't sleep on my back, and now my hips have started to ache and ache when I sleep on my side. I have tried to put a pillow between my knees but I always wake up without fail at about 3am and spend the next 3 hours tossing and turning. Any tips anyone?

carrotcake · 09/10/2006 09:49

MotherBeaker, am afraid I have no tips but suffer exactly the same thing, waking at around 3am and finding it hard to go back to sleep. Sometimes I get up and have a snack, it seems to help but when I get my weird restless arm, that's it for hours! Bloody annoying, and I don't know anyone else who gets restless arms, only the left one too!

Laughalot- that is truly organised! I have done nothing, except notice that I quite like all the bugaboo prams in different colours but at 500 pounds, it looks like I might have to be content with admiring other peoples

Jessdibs- did you make it to the cinema? I watched The Devil Wears Prada on Saturday and have to admit I fell asleep, not just because of Emily's terrible wooden acting, I was quite enjoying Meryl Streep and all of the clothes, but it didn't begin until nine and after a huge Wagamama meal and a box of fizzy cherries and fudge, I dozed off. Despite the git who kept kicking my chair as he put his feet up, why do people not realise how annoying that is?

2MwahHaHaHappy · 09/10/2006 11:54

I think you're right about the stomach MB, or at least certainly in my case. I've felt for the past week or so as if I have morning sickness again . I just find I have to eat little and often, just like my stomach has been squashed I guess. I'm another one who can't sleep. I've found sleeping much worse this pg, I can only sleep on my left side now, every other position hurts my back, but then I keep waking up with a numb left ear, lol! My best tip is kick dp/dh out - at least then there's no snoring, and you can toss and turn, or switch the light on and read, without worrying . I'm also paranoid that the amount of times ds has bounced on/hit/generally pummeled my bump that this poor baby is going to be damaged beyond measure!
God I'm moany today aren't I?! Come on, the sun's shining, it's a public holiday so a day off work: give me a boot up the arse!

MotherBeaker · 09/10/2006 12:00

for the public holiday!

theUrbanDryad · 09/10/2006 13:01

heya all.....well we are back from scotland. got back VERY late friday night after doing the drive all in one go (we must've been insane!)...i was quite poorly when we got home, started throwing up, then saturday got another letter from the council about this funking overpaid housing benefit, a yellow one this time, despite the fact that it's supposedly been frozen! grr...anyway, we went into town to sort some bank stuff out, i went to the loo in the shopping centre and noticed blood! argh! cue panicky drive home to get maternity notes, then onto labour ward where i'm strapped onto a foetal monitor for an hour and a half! they don't know why i'm bleeding, but say it's from the cervix not the placenta, so it's all ok, but i'm starting to panic now as that's twice it's happened. they said that if it happens again then i can't have my home birth as 3 bleeds in a pregnancy is a worry. oh well, at least my little dude is happy in there, his heartbeat is fine, and we could hear all the movements...i have to admit actually, it was fab just sitting there listening to him for an hour!

as for the magazine...how angry am i? they ran the feature but i'm not there! i had a really wobbly moment with DH (sorry, still hasn't sunk in that we're MARRIED!) but he soothed me very well, with nice platitudes like, "you're probably too pretty to go on there...you'd make all the others look ugly..." (not that you're ugly magnolia ...oops, i'll just get my foot out of my mouth shall i?) but i'm really paranoid. actually, re-reading the email they sent me, they did say "I just wanted to let you know that we weren't able to run your story and picture in our pregnancy feature which will be out this Wednesday.

Because of ad restrictions in the magazine we ended up with less pages to run our story so two of our thirtysomething mums-to-be had to be dropped." and had i actually read it closely, i would've sent more of a pissed off mail back, as i'm NOT a "thirty-something mum"....bleargh....funk 'em. sorry though magnolia, it was my fault, i should've read the email more closely....did they send anything back to you? and have you had your expenses back yet?

oh yeah...the wedding pics are on myspace...you need to click on the "view more pics" link on the page, but you have to be a myspace member to do that. i'll try and put the pics on here, but no promises.

anyway, hope you're all doing well, congrats to TR on the pink bump (boys stil rock though...!) and hope everything goes ok at the consultant. let us know how you get on.

and congrats to anyone still reading this monster missive!!! xxx

Love2dance · 09/10/2006 13:07

Hi everyone, I'm due 10th Jan and have been dying to jump into this thread for a while. Re chocolate etc heaven. Has anyone read Dr. Gowrie Motha's book "The Gentle Birth Method"? she suggests giving up wheat and sugar (yeah, right). I refuse but has anyone tried to follow it?
