It's getting really exciting now. Ive decided I'm beginning operation eviction at 38 weeks and am booked in at hosp for a sweep. If I don't go into labour naturally I'll be induced on my due date which I'm not keen to happen as its a VBAC. So any tips on how to get into labour are very welcome!

Wow...how exciting to have the first baby arrive! I'm away on holiday at the moment which is a lovely break. Struggling to walk far with bad back and a touch of SPD but otherwise good.

Feel like I need to get home now though and sort the rest of the things for baby, just in case!

Risking the old TMI lugs - I feel I am a veritable mucous factory at the moment. I'm fairly sure it's normal and just the body preparing for what is yet to come. (I'm 33+3)

Could be mucus plug (no need to panic though! ) which for some women comes away and regenerates in these later stages of pregnancy

Fatpony don't worry if baby turns up before the NCT course it'll take a MW 10 seconds to show you how to change a nappy.

I had J before my NHS labour class which, amongst other things, was to teach us how to use gas and air. Oddly enough I found (when doing the practical before the theory) it didn't take me long to pick it up!!! Needs must and if you go before a class you will be fine.

Selfishly I'm glad I'm not the only person unprepared.

Quite a speedy labour for first October baby! And amazed she was on FB so much! Clearly can handle the pain better than I could!!

Re organisation - the only thing I have is my notes. That's it!

I'm hoping baby hangs on so can sort when back in the house and DH is back from Canada when I'm about 36 weeks. Please hang on please!

Should we add trouble to the start of the list with baby Lumen's details etc? Then we can change each entry once baby has come

so, after packing my hospital bag and a bag for baby I had a panicky thought. Should I wash all the new baby grows etc? I would never wash my own new clothes and I often wonder about the over-hygienic stuff causing allergies. It's been in the news this week and allergies and continuously on the rise as little'uns aren't exposed to enough dirt. What to do?? It would be easy to unpack and wash it all. So much to think about :-)

Can't believe there's a thread baby already. At 36 weeks I think I still need a few more to get things ready. Nearly there though girls!!

My cousin, due a week before me, had her baby last night. 9lbs 6 at only 37 weeks. Crikey!

Not sure on the washing front either - have mix of new stuff & ebay bundles but all have been clean & smelling fresh on arrival, so haven't re-washed. Should I be?

I would wash them slide. You don't know how they were washed so best to have all babies stuff cleaned with the same product in case of any skin irritation. I will be washing the new stuff too but not all of it in case I need to return any for bigger sizes if I happen to be carrying a whopper!

I've decided less is more this time around so I haven't bought loads of blankets, baby gros etc. I figure it will be easier to gauge how many more we need once baby is actually here and using them.

yargghh, baby seems to be using my fanjo as a push-off for it's head so it can jam it's bum/heels into my ribs, not sure if I'm maybe having Braxton Hicks or something as well, as now and again it's like my skin tenses inwards and I can see one side of my tum is a huge sloping bump! Is this what it looks like? Ooft....

I will wash everything before hand just so I know its all been washed in my own washing powder. Like mum said if there is a reaction you know what has caused it.

My one is using its arse as an offensive weapon in much the same way, Kirstipops

I washed everything pre-wear, until DS was about 6 months. As it turns out, he seems to have a pretty robust skin and immune system, but with allergies and delicate skin running in the family, I thought it wise.

I've fallen into the same trap as last time: buy snacks for hospital bag, pack snacks into bag, fantasise about said snacks, unpack and eat

All these big babies arriving early!!! Gosh...

My lo is in a similar position Kirsti. It's been there for a long time and I get funny vibrations in my fanj. No idea what it is. Not sure about the Braxton hicks, don't think I've had them. I get tightening in my belly quite a lot now, not sure if that is it.

DP is in the garden and has finally cemented in the retractable clothing line. Just in time for the last day of summer

At least I can wash and hang the new baby grows.
