binky - same here, not much pattern movement wise either. Just sometimes moves and others it doesn't.
Sitting down with coffee and cake. If doesn't pick up I may phone mw as feel a bit stressed bout it today (despite being sat in ikea - mainly trying to escape builders)

gunwalloe · 09/09/2014 12:36

Thanks missus I have my pre op appointment the Friday before so I can discuss my worrys with the anaesthetist and team.

gunwalloe · 09/09/2014 12:39

fedup if your worried go and get checked or it will just get you more stressed. What happened to Vicky has stuck in my mind to but luckily my baby is a constant fidget so I don't have the chance to get worried about movement.

Missus2ndwife · 09/09/2014 13:14

I agree with Gun Binky, get it checked. Rather be safe than sorry

Missus2ndwife · 09/09/2014 13:14

Doh! I met Fedup - get baby checked x

YellowWellies · 09/09/2014 13:15

Fed up I went and got monitored last night as I'd felt two kicks all day. That's how I know baby is breech they flipped whilst I was being scanned to check the cord wasn't round their neck. From being monitored on the CTG I also found out I'm contracting every 10-15 minutes. Much easier second time - I'd not noticed! MW reckons I'll go another fortnight at most and wouldn't be surprised to see me this week. Having a growth scan today - also checking placenta blood flow to see if that's affecting movement. Am really impressed with the care but think we might fall out as they reckon with the diabetes I'll need continual monitoring and don't want me in the pool during labour as they don't have wireless monitors. Am going to fight this with my obstetrician next Wednesday. Hmm Obviously if this wee sod is still breech its a moot point!

ohthegoats · 09/09/2014 13:29

I've wondered if mine has gone breech again as well the last few days - all kicks are low down again, but it might be elbows or hands. It definitely feels as if it's still moving pretty freely around though - movements all change in the direction they're coming from, it's a bit random. I've got an anterior placenta, but have really been able to notice movement for a long time.

Its movements are getting into a pattern in terms of timing though. Basically goes NUTS from about 3pm onwards.. right through until 2 or 3am sometimes. Very little going on in the morning, maybe a tiny bit later morning, but a definite lull at lunchtime. Means I wake up in the morning a little bit 'are you still in there?', until I poke it in to movement.

Captainmcgraw · 09/09/2014 13:31

Gun if it's any consolation then remember I too will be walking to theatre on the 23rd for a c-section so you won't be alone in spirit - I'll definitely be thinking of you. My friend who had an ELCS said it was a very calm experience and she actually found the whole thing really interesting. I'm trying to think the same - this time in theatre there will actually be the chance to be aware of what's going on, which means also being much more with it when the baby is born which was something I didn't experience last time. I didn't actually have section last time (emergency forceps and spinal block in theatre) but feel like it was similar in some ways.

On the plus side we know that at the latest we will be meeting our babies 2 weeks today which is definitely something to be positive about (compared to going 10 days overdue for me last time).

yellow good luck for baby turning and if not there will be lots of support waiting for you in the c-section gang!

fatpony · 09/09/2014 13:38

Gun there are some really good threads on the childbirth page about planned c-sections - I have bookmarked them for closer to the time (mines the 10th Oct):

Cloth nappy ladies, Bambino Mio are doing old style nappy covers for £2.95 each. Hope you have better luck at placing an order than me, both times now I have got stuck on the verification page so don't know if my order has gone through!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 09/09/2014 15:11

I hope all those naughty breech babies turn for you ladies! If not though the great thing about elective c-sections is you have time to tell the doctors exactly what you want. You can still make it as natural as possible & have many of the same things you would have with a vaginal birth such as immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. I have even heard of ladies having their own music playing!

I also remember seeing a video of a breech home birth - it was amazing, the baby seemed to realise it was coming out the wrong way and turned its body at different points to get different bits out! So maybe these little ones just like to do things differently Smile

STIGZ · 09/09/2014 15:52

gun i totally get your concerns regarding c-section, even though you have done it all before. Mines will be a planned one also if she decides to stay put until then Hmm

I am anxious because i have DD to think about now and didnt the last time so its a totally diffrent experience this time around but my last c/sec even though it was an emegency, was still a nice experience for me, so im hoping this one will be the same (only not so much an emergency) i think i know what to expect like operation/ recovery time maybe being a little longer due to old scar tissue etc?

The thing that i found the hardest was knowing i was about to be cutConfused and then knowing she was out and waiting to see if she was ok, seemed like a life time as she only had a tiny wee cry then stopped but she was perfect and healthy Grin

SlideIn · 09/09/2014 15:56

Eep. Came into antenatal clinic for BP monitoring (+3 protein at last MW visit). Now being kept in for 24-48hrs as BP a bit higher. Consultant thinks I may be heading for pre-eclampsia. Bishops score only 2 so they would need to induce with pessary. Aaaargh. 36wks today, want to cook a bit longer! Shock

STIGZ · 09/09/2014 15:57

Oh forgot to add that i hope you get baby checked fedup and put your mind at rest.,, it totally affects your well being when you think movements have slowed ... You will probably get a little tap dance at bedtime ... You know what their like!! a constant worry from bean to teen Grin... And forever so im told !!

BingoBango85 · 09/09/2014 15:57

MILs!!!!!!! Aaaaaa! Not in the mood for her opinions today, one being that it was a waste of time dp doing nct as he knows how to deliver a lamb (deadly serious). She's so f*ing negative about everything.

sazzlehopes · 09/09/2014 16:29

Oh no slide, hope you are ok and you get to go home. 36 weeks is ok, but I do understand you want to cook a little longer. Keep us posted on how you get on.

fedupofrainydays · 09/09/2014 16:38

Thanks ladies. The baby moved more this pm and I've not made it to hospital - also because got stuck in horrendous traffic and then needed to pick up ds. Now home and the heating is on and I can't turn it off and plumber has fucked off. So over this building work - tired and no where to entertain ds except his bedroom :(
Just want them out my house - it's so slow.
Baby has hiccups again but is also moving - so hope it's ok. Perhaps it also feels annoyed with builders. Were promised the kitchen yesterday and still not ready. Have both rage Angry and feel like crying at same time Sad - with the worry about baby am just not coping well with it.
DH started new job today too so not around either

Loulou888 · 09/09/2014 16:44

slide hope all goes okay. fedup I really would be fed up too and bingo don't get me started on MILS

binkybunny · 09/09/2014 16:45

fedup glad to hear you've had movement but sorry about all your building work stress. I've found to have less movement when stressed so maybe it's related?

I've had an upset stomach for about 24 hours now. Last night DH was panicking a bit (again) as I was getting really bad cramps with it and now I've just spent about 30 mins on the loo. Hoping it's just a dodgy tum and not the big clear out just yet. Only 35 + 4 so would like another week and a half!

FatFlashingLazer · 09/09/2014 16:50

Does anyone have a recommendation for a baby monitor? We haven't bought one yet and when I have tried to look I get a bit overwhelmed with choice - I really think pregnancy is inhibiting be from making decisions. Has anyone gone for a video monitor? On one hand I quite like the idea of them, but on the other they're a bit pricey and I worry I'll get a bit obsessed watching it!!

Lily31 · 09/09/2014 16:51

slidein I hope you are ok? Sounds like you are in the right place. I don't know what bishops score is ?! sorry...

Guessing no one else has had the low lying placenta... I really hope mine has moved. Fingers crossed.

hefner · 09/09/2014 17:03

Hope you're OK SlideIn.

Fed up, hope your baby gives you lots of movements this evening to reassure you. You have my sympathy with the building work. We've just finished a few months of renovations and I recognise the feeling of just wanting them to get out of your house! Must be especially hard with your DH not being around much.

porcito · 09/09/2014 17:18

Hope everything goes ok slide!

fedup, I don't blame you, can't imagine feeling like this with rubbish builders to contend with too. Hope you feel better soon.

Lily my placenta was low, almost entirely covering the cervix, but has moved now. My doctor told me it moves in time more often than not, so hope it's true for you!

My MIL keeps making snide comments about kidnapping the baby as I'm going back to work after Christmas and she feels sorry for it. Grr. It's not like I have a choice given you only get 42days mat leave here!!Angry

mum2kiss · 09/09/2014 17:52

First day back at work coupled with school run...I am shattered! have some fresh tomato and basil soup in the fridge...I think that is dinner!

Placenta encapsulation?! Um, not for me...dp would have stroke if I even suggested it!

fedup I hope your little one is giving you a good kicking today!

slide yikes!

I plan to use disposables but do have about 6 reusable that I may use for at home once baby is big enough!

I took tiny baby for Dd last time...she had long legs though so it fit in width but not in length. This time I've put in both nb and tiny...

the pushchair and car seat have been delivered to the outlaws so we are going to pick them up on Saturday!

Grannyapple · 09/09/2014 17:53

lily I had low lying placenta last time with DD...moved enough by 36wks & I had a natural birth in the end.
