Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Im so glad im not the only one driving themselves mad! Another one also considering an early scan. Im only 5wks + 5 but I want to know everything is alright goddammit!
Still no sickness. Boobs feel a little sore (though look amazing as they're def bigger). I did have to use the loo twice within 15mins other night when trying to sleep though im not too bad during the day. Im away on hols from 25th Sept to 2nd Oct and I dont want to spend it feeling like I do now!

Hey ladies,

I have a question, I went on the NHS pregnancy due date calculator and I asked for your last date of your AF(no problem there) but then it also asks for your cycle length.

Now depending on your cycle length it changes how pregnant you are, I thought it just mattered when your last AF was? My issue is that I've only had one AF since coming off birth control and it was a short cycle of only 23 days. So If I put 23 days into the calculator it puts me at 5 weeks pregnant (which I think I kind of am actually as I implanted Monday the 11th of August) so that means the that actual egg has been in there for three weeks plus the two weeks you add on before conception. However it doesn't quite line up with my last AF (three days short).

If I put the average of 26 - 28 days in it says four weeks pregnant however I really don't see how that can be since isn't the fourth week the week after implantation?

It does make sense, I was tracking using BBT so I think I ovulated on CD14 and in fact I think I ovulated CD16 on the 23 day cycle. But that explains why the calculators try and use the cycle length (although clearly it isn't accurate always lol).

My other issue is trying to work out whether early implantation puts you ahead, I know I implanted 4/5 dpo as I had my dip in temp and I felt it. I then got my positive test at 8/9 DPO. So I wonder if a lady implants early surely that must put you ahead by at least a few days. Perhaps it evens out as things progress.

I can't wait for my first scan, going to solve a lot of these dating issues!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 27/08/2014 14:32

banana I could have written your post. I'm 5+4 today and did a CB digi at the weekend when 5 weeks. Completely panicked as I got a 2-3 weeks result. Have ordered 2 more off amazon and am waiting for them to come so I can do another and hopefully get a 3+ this week, otherwise, like you, I will be really stressing.

BananaToast · 27/08/2014 14:51

OneDay glad it's not just me!

Siarie I wish LMP was the defining variable for dating as that would put me a bit further along! I have long cycles and late ovulation so going by LMP would make me two weeks further than I think I am. I can see how people get dates confused!

Bitchpeas - totally understand why you'd be feeling grumpy! Really hope you can sleep soon and that the nausea settles down.

Same here banana and sairie. From a LMP perspective I'm at 8+1. However, when I had an early scan 8 days ago they sac was there but so small they suggested I might be a week or two earlier than I thought. Being told that felt like I was being robbed! Hopefully tommorow if the scan is positive we can get a clearer idea of dates.

I'm having a scary afternoon here. I went to the loo, have been feeling a bit constipated, managed to do a number two but due to staining quite a bit of bloody CM (more dark red than brown) came out (apologies for the potential TMI!). This really scared me as I've kept telling myself that brown CM is okay as long as it's not red! I rang mum (an ex midwife) and she said it was normal and can often happen if you strain on the loo and there is already stuff to come out.

Have realised though that there is no way I can cope with work and be emotionally available for my clients until after the scan is done so have told our administrator what is going on (who was lovely) and asked her to cancel my appointments for today and tomorrow. Manager is on leave so emailed her. Feel relieved now I'm on the sofa in front of GBBO and a bit of a fraud as I've calmed down lots but no one wants to have an appointment with a teary psychologist!

I know I've posted a lot today, really hope it doesn't feel like I'm manopilising the thread. It just feels like a lifeline at the moment so thanks for being part of that.

Siarie · 27/08/2014 16:02

phyrn I think taking some time out helps, brown and red is fine but if you get lots of red then you will want to mention that at your scan. I had a little brown/pink bleeding but that was back weeks ago and I think implantation bleeding.

I'm just going to wait and see with my scan, I'll only be a half a week or so out but i like reading my week by week what's going on details.

I think it's really lame that the NHS doesn't do routine scans earlier just to reassure women who haven't had bleeding or extreme pain. I can imagine some people just say they had that to get a scan to reassure as it's such a long time to wait.

CareBearWithFangs · 27/08/2014 16:12

Don't be silly phryn, we're to listen and give support if we can. Glad you've got some time to yourself, try and keep your mind occupied and take care of yourself Smile

Bitchpeas, that's exactly how I feel. I feel pregnant but I know that doesn't mean I'll have a baby I can take home Sad.

I wish the nhs offered more scans too. I've got my private one on Sunday but I know I'm not going to feel any relief until after we've had the nifty test done.

Cookiepants87 · 27/08/2014 16:17

I've been reading about these online calculators and I'm so confused! By the one online it says I'm 5+4, my LMP was 20the July and I have 32/33day cycles...so would that make me less than 5+4?

On another note I've had terrible lightheadedness this afternoon coupled with horrendous heartburn / indigestion / trapped wind... I just feel like I've been knocked over sideways! Anyone else got this? ConfusedConfused Xx

BananaToast · 27/08/2014 16:19

Phryn hope you're ok - think you've done the right thing getting away from work until you've had your scan and you know what's going on. It's all so scary - every time I go to the loo I'm analysing the situation and my mood can be altered in an instant! Try to distract yourself as best you can until Friday - I keep telling myself that stressing won't change the outcome but it doesn't help at all, the only thing that helps time pass more quickly is to get totally involved in something else so I don't have a chance to think about it.

Siarie my local EPU lists 'maternal anxiety' as a reason for an early scan. They do walk-in appointments on Saturdays where you just sit and wait for a slot - although I imagine they prioritise women with symptoms. I think I may be doing that in a few weeks assuming my scan is ok on Friday and they don't need to see me again - I can't see me lasting until 12 weeks with my sanity in tact!

Cookiepants87 · 27/08/2014 16:23

Just did the nhs calculator and it's put me behind to 4+something Sad kinda makes sense as my cycles are 5 days Longer than the average, just a bit gutted that's all lol! Xx

Hope everything is ok with everyone else and that you aren't getting too worked up / stressed out xxx

BananaToast · 27/08/2014 16:26

Cookie it's rubbish isn't it? I started out with an EDD of 22 April then I put it back to 26 April because it didn't take into account late ovulation, felt like I had to repeat the days I thought I'd already ticked off!

Stuntman · 27/08/2014 16:33

Now I'm looking at the NHS calculator, if you use my 29-day cycle then my first two DCs were both born on their due dates! DC3 was still nearly a week late though but he was transverse so that's not surprising.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 27/08/2014 17:08

Oh phryn sorry you've had a crappy/worrying day. Don't feel guilty about taking time away from work. Try to keep busy until your scan and trlax, as difficult as that is. Really wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow.

I had a weirdly short (for me) 25 day cycle (the first proper one after my MMC) and my LMP was 22nd July so that gives me an EDD of 25/04/14 which I think is correct?

mswibble · 27/08/2014 17:26

Take care of yourself Phryn, relaxing infront of GBBO sounds like a very good plan! I hope tomorrow goes well and puts your mind at ease.

roastpots · 27/08/2014 17:44

Poor you, phryn - it really has been a long period of uncertainty and waiting for you. But you've done the right thing by checking out of work until after the scan. It's not long to go now until you get some certainty about what is going on. The GBBO on the sofa sounds like a good distraction! x x x

Cookiepants87 · 27/08/2014 18:05

Yeah GP dated me at 4 weeks but as the nhs calculator doesn't give the days, I'm 4 weeks something. Got my booking in appointment booked for the 17th September with the midwife and the nhs calculator is giving me and EDD around the 30th April! It's only 4 days after the one I thought originally but still....xxx

Cookiepants87 · 27/08/2014 18:20

Oh yeah I also didn't understand why he wanted me to book in for the 17th sept as according to his calculations I would be 6 1/2 weeks? I'm so confused! Guess I'll find out all on he 17th sept eh!? Xx

Sorry to hear your not feeling well phryn xxxx big hugs xxxx

BonjourMinou · 27/08/2014 18:42

Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time of it, phryn, yes chill out in front of GBBO tonight and I'll be thinking about your scan tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed for you. Flowers xxx

Phryn · 27/08/2014 19:32

Thanks ladies x

BitchPeas · 27/08/2014 20:14

Thanks and Brew phyrn all the not knowing is awful isn't it.

My symptoms subside in the evening. At first I am relieved, then I just start to worry that something terrible has happened and I can't wait to feel like shit again Confused this pregnancy thing makes me so fickle.

GBBO is a good distraction though!

StopEatingThatMud · 27/08/2014 20:22

Evening ladies.

Just popping by to say I got blood results from my gp today (by text for crying out loud Angry ) and am officially off the bus.

Wishing each and every one of you all the luck in the world. phryn sorry to hear you're still having a tough time my darling, I've not read back but got the gist from this page. I really hope you get some reassurance soon.

For now I'm off to crack open a bottle of wine and wait for DP to get back from work. Hopefully see you around soon :)
