Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

CareBear I am completely with you re the guilt of falling pregnant again so soon. For me it was just 5 weeks after the ERPC. I really wasn't expecting it so soon so it's taken me by surprise.

Thank you roast PMA is definitely the way forward I feel. After all, if we don't have hope then what is there?

This is a really busy thread! It's a wonderful distraction.

Oh whoops, I'm not sure what happened there! Sorry!

Cookiepants87 · 21/08/2014 16:27

Onedaylikethis I've found nothing but loveliness on this thread and only joined this morning! I can see it's going to take she's to read through all if the days messages to catch up with everyone and how they're doing so apologies if I miss anyone now or in the future!! Here's to April 15 ladies!! GrinGrinGrinXxx

Cookiepants87 · 21/08/2014 16:28

Lol I meant ages Smile

roastpots · 21/08/2014 16:30

poor you cookies having to deal with work stress. I'm finding work really hard at the moment - just struggling to get anything done. I have worked from home today to see if a bit of quiet helps me crack on with things but it's been even worse.

BonjourMinou · 21/08/2014 16:35

Hello, can I join? I am 5+3, due 20th April with my 2nd baby and looking for a way to distract myself while I'm waiting for the initial 12 weeks to be over.

Not had masses of symptoms this time around - not yet, anyway, which is worrying me a bit, but I have been lightheaded so am eating iron rich foods, plus I seem to skip between being freezing cold and boiling hot and back again very quickly!

Cookiepants87 · 21/08/2014 16:46

Welcome bonjourminou! I am too looking for ways to keep myself distracted lol! I really hope the next 8 weeks fly by!

Roastpots u wish u could work from home Hmm unfortunately I work for a large company and the work is highly confidential so can't work from home... It's either sickies or just get on with the work lol! Xxx

prevlurker123 · 21/08/2014 16:56

So thankful for this forum evev though I dont post very much!

Still not really any symptoms and thats me 5+1, apart from being exceptionally thirsty!!

No appts or scans booked yet (waiting on them coming thro) and not told anyone except dh! Feel very guilty when not telling people, I am a terrible liar!!

What a weird but exciting time this is!

Chococroc · 21/08/2014 17:00

Had my first appointment at the ante-natal diabetes clinic today, so much information to take in! Saw a midwife, obstratician & endocrinologist. All went well, on the diabetes front I'm apparently a 'model patient' - it's early days though ;)
They will be seeing me at least fortnightly throughout. I think I'm going to have to tell work pretty soon, don't want to tell them this early but each clinic is around 3hrs a visit so I won't get away with the 'routine doctors appointment' excuse for long!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/08/2014 17:04

So sorry for those of you that have difficult loses Thanks I've been very lucky with my pregnancies and can't imagine what you've been through to get this stage and I'm super impressed that you manage to be positive through it all!

I'm feeling sorry for myself feeling sick now, on holiday tomorrow and really don't want to go!

rambini · 21/08/2014 17:39

Hi everyone, can I join? We have been trying for a year, got a referral to the fertility clinic which was sent last week, and got a bfp this morning! I am currently only 4+1, with an EDD of 29th April so I am feeling very nervous as I know first hand that things can go wrong. But I also really want to enjoy it and not stress too much! Sorry for rambling... BlushSmile

roastpots · 21/08/2014 17:56

welcome rambini - what a lovely surprise for you! we had a similar thing with my dd - I had just been to the Dr to start the investigations and then I fell pregnant. Definitely try to relax and enjoy it - it's such a special thing being pregnant (although I prefer the 2nd trimester!) I honestly don't think you can protect yourself against the upset if something does go wrong by worrying about it in advance.

BonjourMinou · 21/08/2014 18:42

That's a good point about worrying not helping, roastpots, I need to bear that in mind myself! Positive Mental Attitude! And Cake

ladyflower23 · 21/08/2014 18:52

Hello to the new ladies and congrats on your bfps Smile
Finally got appt through for my booking in today but still nothing for scan. Am wondering if they arrange scan appointment at booking in. I will be 10 weeks by then so seems to be cutting it fine. Don't see why they would not send scan appt at same time. I know none of you can answer this for me and I should just phone them and ask. Don't want to look desperate he he

Mines the same as you lady. Booking in is sept 3rd (there's no home visits here) and I'll be (by their calculations) 9+1..can't see them fitting me in within 3 weeks considering 3rd September was the first available booking in appt when I called early last week! I guess we shall find out soon enough Grin

BananaToast · 21/08/2014 20:04

Got my booking appt and scan date in the post today - made it all seem so real!

EssenceOfGelfling · 21/08/2014 20:10

Hello to everyone new and congratulations!

Had my booking appointment today, so starting to feel real now! I looked into early scans but can't afford it so just got to wait for 4 more weeks to get the NHS one. Taps foot impatiently...

The dietary advice section from the midwife was hilarious! I declined to mention that I am only able to stomach breadsticks, breakfast cereal and yoghurts at the moment. The midwife was a bit cold and I thought she wouldn't see the funny side of it...

Hello to a few other people in Cambridgeshire! Sounds silly but I'm looking forward to checking out the new midwife-led-unit at the Rosie. My two DC were born there before the renovations (DC2 during the renovations - that was awful!) and I intend to make full use of the lovely new pools and mood lighting this time round!

I did NCT with DC1, now 4.5, and we still meet up occasionally, it was a godsend in the first 6 months though. It does depend on the personal opinions of the group leader (we had an ex midwife who was very practical, but others have been much more wooo and auras), and also whether you get on with the other parents in the group.

BananaToast · 21/08/2014 20:17

I think I'm definitely going to do NCT classes as everyone says the friends you make are worth the money. Did you do Essentials or Signature?

dancestomyowntune · 21/08/2014 20:32

I looked at NCT this time, never considered it before! I'm not sure it's worth it to be honest. This is baby number 5 for us, and I just didn't want to be frightened in the past!

I may look at some aqua-natal or something though.

We have LOTS to sort out before the birth though. Going to have to shuffle bedrooms and decorate. We really need a new kitchen and I'm gonna have to do some major decluttering in order to fit the baby equipment in!

EssenceOfGelfling · 21/08/2014 20:33

They didn't call them that "back in my day" (wow I feel old now!) but it looks like equivalent of Signature - small group, personalised, think it was 3 or 4 saturday sessions with 5 other couples.

I also did a NCT postnatal early days course, as I was feeling lonely and needed a motivation to get dressed and out the house every day. It wasn't as good - the leader was there to "facilitate discussion" rather than tell us how to do stuff, when really we were all clueless and just wanted some useful ideas on how to get more sleep, deal with crying, etc!

EssenceOfGelfling · 21/08/2014 20:37

Dances I won't be doing NCT again either but will be looking for some evening antenatal pilates or aquanatal.

We're going to have to do some rearranging too. Got a lovely rocking chair in the loft that MUST fit somewhere! And the bathroom needs painting. Hoping to get a burst of energy in the 2nd trimester as struggling to even just clear the dinner things away and keep on top of the laundry at the moment.

Gibbon85 · 21/08/2014 21:27

Hey prevlurker123 I too am a terrible liar! On hols with mum and sis and the latter noticed I wasn't drinking last night and asked if I was pregnant! Had to say no but had a big grin on my face... No queries tonight when I didn't drink so she's probably figured it out. Just don't think I could face telling them if it went wrong so keeping it 'secret' for now. Stressing me out tho!
I will be 6 weeks tomorrow- no symptoms ATM apart from the odd cramp and generally feeling run down. Feel like I'm wishing the next six weeks away too!

Would like to do some classes or something in the future to meet other mums in the area- anyone done anything around south east wales?

CareBearWithFangs · 21/08/2014 22:03

Who was it who said they we're feeling emotional earlier?

I'm watching educating Yorkshire and I'm sobbing!
