Couldn't afford nct last time and dh isn't the most PC person so he'd probably upset people at the groups anyway Blush
Got booking appointment now 8th September. She said it's all digital now and as I've had children she won't go through the screening as it hasn't changed so should take 1hr 15 roughly.

dancestomyowntune · 22/08/2014 06:48

it was me Carebear. i'm blubbing at everything! Sad

i've got up and had some toast but queasy feeling is worse than ever today Sad good sign i know but trying to get through the days is becoming increasingly difficult!

Cookiepants87 · 22/08/2014 07:40

Couldn't eat all my breakfast this morning.... Usually have a bowl of cereal and a decaf mug of tea... Tea tasted weird but I drank it anyway and only managed half my bowl of cereal, I stopped before the feeling if sickness hit me, you know when you just feel 'odd'? Lol!

Wishing all you pregnant ladies out there a good and happy day! Grin Xx

LadesC · 22/08/2014 07:41

Does anyone find that moving sets off their nausea? Im tending to wake up, thinking ms has gone and then I get up to go to loo and by the time ive got back into bed ive started to feel ickySad

StopEatingThatMud · 22/08/2014 07:43

Waves to essence and other Cambs people. I'm planning on registering with Hinchingbrooke due to location and being happy first time round but I've heard amazing things about the Rosie. Given that DD1 took 14 hours to appear and that was with a forceps/ventouse dragging out I may well have time to get to the Rosie so perhaps I'll take another look!

I'm planning on pregnancy yoga classes. I only made about 4 classes last time due to working my 2nd evening job up til 30+ weeks but don't intend on doing that again so hope to squeeze some more in!

Did NCT last time, classes themselves were ok, infinitely more helpful than NHS classes. Main thing was the support network. I'm still in contact with most of the mums almost 4 years later and for the first year we all met up weekly, if not more frequently. Waa lovely having someone you could ask the 'stupid' questions!

Cookiepants87 · 22/08/2014 07:50

Stopeatingthatmud pregnancy yoga? Please tell me more!! GrinGrin

ladyflower23 · 22/08/2014 08:04

I went to nct and pref yoga, plus had a birth hypnosis CD that I listened to and found it all really useful in that I got into a really positive frame of mind about the birth and when it came to it I just 'went into the zone' and just felt like I could cope with it. Don't get me wrong though the gas and air was also a major help!!!!! My nct teacher was a doula so quite airy fairy. I prefer that to the matter of fact, depressing nhs class I went to though. Think I will prob just do the yoga this time though. ladyn it is a bit concerning if we do have to wait till booking in to arrange scan. Like you say how will it be arranged in time??!! I think I might phone next week and explain I'm worried and see what they say.

StopEatingThatMud · 22/08/2014 08:09

It's run through my GP surgery cookie, perhaps ask your midwife at your booking appointment if they recommend anyone locally?

Otherwise try the local pages on here, or else the whispers netmums local listings.

I mainly enjoyed the relaxation at the end. Being told to lay down with a pregnancy pillow? Oh go on then!

dancestomyowntune · 22/08/2014 08:31

how is everyone this morning? hope you aren't all feeling as sick as me Sad and the children want scrambled egg for breakfast... even thinking about it is making me heave Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 22/08/2014 08:33

I did it through birthlight cookiepants87 with both of mine and it was great. The lady who did it has gone now so the nearest one is a bit too far but I've found another class closer. They tend to be evenings so you can go if working, it's very positive and empowering I found. And it was a bit of time for me and bump which was lovely too.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/08/2014 08:34

Pretty sick dancestomyowntune, I find eating straight away helps although I don't want to. Yesterday it passed by 5pm! Was only sick once though. I find going outside helps a bit too.

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 08:59

Morning dances! Have felt really rough this week (work is a real struggle) but like others on here I've found that having DP bring me (decaf) tea and toast before I get up has been really helpful.

My stomach has also been feeling really bloated and painful, probably because the only thing I can stomach eating is plain carb Blush

Off on holiday tomorrow with DP and 9 friends, have no idea how I'm going to hide it all week, especially as I'm currently going to bed at 9:30pm. And not sure how to handle the 12 hour drive to get to our chateau! Confused

cinnamongreyhound · 22/08/2014 09:01

I was starting to worry about you Brixtonbunny, not seen a post for a while! Feeling similar, not looking forward to 5hrs in the car today, when I just want to be at home but I'm sure we'll both have a lovely time! Good luck with hiding your pregnancy, my ds's haven't questioned why I feel constantly awful yet!

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 09:03

Also re: NCT etc my mum is an NCT teacher and doula so she will give us lots of 1-2-1 sessions, but we're also going to do a local class for the support network. Also planning on doing pregnancy yoga when I stop feeling so sick!

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 09:04

Cinnamon that's so sweet, I've been lurking but feeling so shattered and sick that even posting has seemed like effort! Will try and be better xx

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 09:05

Oh and cinnamon have the loveliest holiday! X

BananaToast · 22/08/2014 09:07

Sorry to hear lots of you are feeling so awful. Can I ask how far along you were when the sickness started? I'm 4+5 and feeling mostly fine at the moment - except for finding everyone's perfume offensive - but know that could all change v soon!

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 09:19

Banana I'm 7 weeks exactly today and I've only been feeling sick since Sunday, so 6+2. But you may get lucky and not feel sick at all!

dancestomyowntune · 22/08/2014 09:31

yy to constant thirst too! thinking my bloated belly is probably all water i'm drinking so much! Grin and the tiredness... asleep by 8:30/9pm and really struggling with the mornings Sad cant wait for the second trimester, when with any luck i'll get a burst of energy!

those of you off on holiday have a lovely time. Grin i dont envy you the travelling bit tho!

RiverRocks · 22/08/2014 09:33

Cinnamon have a lovely holiday.

Banana I felt fine until I was just over 6 weeks, then the exhaustion and nausea started. But as Brixton says, you could be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get any nausea or sickness. Fingers crossed Grin

Twittwooo · 22/08/2014 09:38

Morning all. Sorry to hear you're feeling so sick dances - I have rubbish days and better days but have been physically sick most of them along with regular nausea and headaches. I have found that eating 2 oatcakes before bed and two when I wake up seems to help, but who knows really? I'm also allowing myself 2 caffeinated cups of tea per day as I find that helps too - can't stand the taste of decaf! Banana - I think my sickness started around 6 weeks and I'm now 9 and a half. I'm opting out of the NHS classes this time but will revisit hypno birthing which I found amazing last time. Has anyone else done hypno birthing classes?

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 22/08/2014 09:51

Sorry so many people are feeling sick. I am sure I will be joining you soon!

stop eating that mud I was planning on Hinchingbrooke this time but was at the Rosie for my son. They were good although I did end up forceps and a 3rd degree tear. Hinchingbrooke is a bit closer for me though. Did you find the midwives any good?

LadyNovember · 22/08/2014 10:16

Sorry you're all feeling so rubbish! In 6+1 today (or 7+3 by lmp) and haven't had any nausea..hoping it stays that way. My mum had 6 of us with no nausea at all so fingers crossed Grin

Hope your scan went well lindalove? Xx

StopEatingThatMud · 22/08/2014 10:45

twittwooo I like the sound of hypnobirthing but don't really know where to go to find out more? And imagine it to be quite expensive?

mustbe in all honesty I don't remember an awful lot of my labour. I took any pain relief offered and was exhausted, but from what I do remember the midwives were good! DD had meningitis at 12m and spent nearly a month between Hinch and Addy's PICU. I literally cannot fault the care at Hinch, the follow up we've had from our consultant and the children's unit leaves me with such confidence I feel comfortable being there. I was also a Hinch SCBU baby many years ago at 32w and they did an ok job with me it seems :)
