Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Hello!

Please may I join? We've been TTC for our first baby since December. I had an MMC in April at 10weeks, took ages to start cycling again, but feel very blessed to have got my BFP on Friday after only one normal cycle. I have weird long, variable length cycles (34-35 days) so hard to know how many weeks pg I am, but think 4+2, which I think would make my due date end of April I think.

I'm definitely not brave enough for the main thread and just trying not to feel worried /paranoid all the time! Have managed to do something to my back yesterday so am in loads of pain - had to take some paracetamol but feeling worries about that! What a weirdo! Anyone got any good pain relief suggestions?

LiveInABox · 17/08/2014 08:33

Hi ladies, I've joined the main April thread but would also like to join here please as somewhere to talk through my anxiety!!

Been trying for DC2 since January, had a MMC at 10wks in June. Had a BFP last Monday and so am now 4+6.

I already have a fear to share, don't know if anyone can help with advice or reassurance! Last Monday was when AF was due, and I got a super-faint BFP on an internet cheapie HPT. It was one of those 'hold it up to the light at a certain angle and you'll JUST see something'! That prompted me to use a CB digi which came up with Pregnant 1-2 weeks. Great news! Fast forward 6 days to today and I've just done another internet cheapie test (mainly because I've got about a zillion left over!) and it's still a super faint line. Is this a bad sign?? Also had no symptoms to speak of really, although that was also the case with both DS and MMC...

Shetland · 17/08/2014 09:34

Hi bristolian and liveinabox

My internet cheapies are still faint too live but the frers are getting stronger - I think a lot of the cheapies are just not that sensitive. I'm 4+2 today

LiveInABox · 17/08/2014 13:58

Well ladies, after my nervous post this morning I am now bleeding properly and am pretty sure this is over for me. Feeling ok, only 4+6 and after last mc I never really got my hopes up this time.

I've now had 2 mc in a row, is there anything I can do to help next time? Do I need to tell my mw/GP? Can they do any checks? Both DH and I have private medical insurance, are there any tests we can ask for? Am I now more likely to have future mc's or is it just bad luck?

Good luck to the rest of you for happy healthy pregnancies x

LIG1979 · 17/08/2014 14:09

liveinabox - so sorry it wasn't good news. do go to the Dr so it counts. my chemical pg never counted as I didn't get it on the system. (After my mc I was very fed up of epu's etc. and just wanted to ignore it.) have they all been early mc (sorry on phone so cannot look back)? If so they could be low progesterone so that would be worth testing. do you know what your luteal phase is? If that is short it indicates low prog.

I am feeling well for the 2nd day in a row Sad .also clear blue digital is stuck at 2-3 for a week now. dh thinks I am being silly still.

lila35 · 17/08/2014 14:51

So sorry Liveinabox I Second lig go and see your gp and get it on record, I don't think they will investigate anything until you've had 3 frustratingly but you could talk through your concerns and they may well reassure you. I heard about a girl yesterday in your very same situation who mc'd her first 2 pregnancys and now shes 13 weeks and things are looking good.

Bristolian I think paracetamol is as good as it gets i'm afraid.

Have been feeling pants myself, soooo tired and generally under the weather, I have been a bit of a house demon today and done loads but kept feeling dizzy so had to keep sitting down. My jobs are done now and I have sent dp off to do the food shopping, I just can't seem to get my head around it, i get halfway round and feel like I'm in a dream world..its stupid!

I have a scan on tuesday, hoping that all these symptoms mean theres something there, but I know theres a chance not, maybe I could just sleep till then?

Hello any other newbies, hope everyone is feeling ok.

chiliplant · 17/08/2014 19:06

Hello all, I believe I am about 6+4.fluctuating between excited, petrified and almost in denial. Had an early mc at 7+5 a year ago.

Not really any symptoms!!
One question; how many weeks does a clear blue test climb to? I'm at 3+. Is that the highest it goes?x

TinyTear · 17/08/2014 20:07

Hello to all the newbies.

Been a bit away all weekend trying not to think of the pregnancy.

Anyone else breastfeeding? I only do it morning and night but developing feeding aversion and it's bloody painful. Wondering if I should buy some lansinoh

Very nervously joining this thread, if that's ok?
Have had two miscarriages in the past year, they happened within 4 months of each other. The last one was in January, MMC discovered at routine scan.
Found out that I was pregnant on Friday, I knew I was even though it was very early! Only got the definite positive with a FRER. So, I'm 33, about 4/5 weeks pregnant, due around the 25th April I think. Oh, and I'm absolutely terrified of having another miscarriage. I know you all know what it's like, so it will be good to share worries.

TeachersPest · 17/08/2014 23:09

Big Hello to all the newbies who have joined the thread

So sorry to hear that LiveInaBox as everyone else has said definitely tell your doctor. Most wont do any investigations until after a third mc unless you have TTC for over 12 months, which feels crap when you are going through them. Fingers Crossed for you.

Bristolian Sorry to hear about your back playing up, I would continue with paracetamol and also you could try alternating hot and cold packs on it.

LIG I've been feeling better today too, and rather than enjoying the fact that I have managed to go about my day with sharp pains and feeling sick I've been stressing all day so I know how you feel. Also I have read a lot recently about the fact that the CB digi don't always measure up correct dates, so try not to worry. Though I am a fine one to speak, so know it is easier said than done!

Lila not long to wait now until your scan, fx'd all the dizziness is a good sign. I had a great dizzy spell when I was pg with my DD and took out a whole DVD stall at a market Blush

Chilliplant I too am 6+4 today. 3+ reading is the highest reading on a CB digi, I personally would like it to go up to 12+ so that you can just keep taking them to check your levels, much easier &quicker than having blood drawn.

LIG1979 · 18/08/2014 07:24

teachers now that would be a good invention a cb digital which could do that.....or something you could use at home to keep you reassured. I do have a Doppler somewhere from when I was pregnant with dd. Apparently, it is possible to hear from 9 weeks and I know last time I could hear her from about 14 weeks when I got it. Not sure I would want to use it from 9 weeks incase I couldn't hear her. My poor dd got dopplered fairly regularly whilst in my tummy!!

TinyTear · 18/08/2014 07:29

Nooo no Dopplers for me. I'd get too scared. I am ahem too padded and even at 17w the midwife couldn't hear her...

OP posts:
Shetland · 18/08/2014 07:31

So sorry liveinabox :(

Welcome chili and fizzy

I think that women's hgc levels vary quite a bit in pregnancy so those clearblues are only meant to be a guide - I'm reliably informed that doctors/midwives don't like them much because they get people stressing when the result isn't 'right' for their dates, when it's actually all fine.

I'm still cramping a bit but it does seem to be better than it was. I'll book a scan for 8 weeks but that's 4 loooong weeks away....

TinyTear · 18/08/2014 08:20

i still had a faintly positive test when i went for a check up 2 weeks after my medical management... that is why I do one test, two at most, and don't bother with more... rather save my money...

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 18/08/2014 09:28

Thanks shetland He is a sweetheart and behaved exactly the same for a week before my BFP last time.

live I hope you're doing okay?

Thank you everyone for the welcome. I just can't bring myself to join the other April 2015 thread. I'm not in the right headspace and they're all so lovely and positive, I don't want to crash the party.

So I think I'm just about 4 weeks and I've called the GP this morning to book in to have it 'confirmed' (not that they actually do anything of course) I was going to wait before getting myself in the system so to speak but then I thought if I god forbid were to MC again, I'd want it on record so that we would be entitled to investigations etc. So, visit booked for Wednesday with the lovely lady that signed me off for a bit longer after the MC. Really pleased it's her.

Trying to keep positive thinking, I've had my share of the bad luck. I've been that 1 on 4 statistic now. It's still so incredibly hard though.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 18/08/2014 09:29

I need to take a bit of your advice tiny I'm still POAS like a woman possessed!

TinyTear · 18/08/2014 09:33

OneDay on my positive days I say I help other women's statistics...

If I don't count my chemical I have had 5mc and 1 DD...

and it does make a difference when you have a good GP... I can't fault mine, he is really helpful

OP posts:
LIG1979 · 18/08/2014 10:37

Tiny I did have to laugh at you helping other peoples statistics. I think the 1 in 4 doesn't sound like bad odds till you think that some people are always in the 3 and some are always the 1 in 1 in 4. I am very impressed at your attitude to testing. I do find that a positive pg test/scan only provides a very short relief before I start panicking again. I think I would just like to know if it is a mmc so I can prepare myself. With my chemical it was quite nice to know that the tests weren't getting darker so when the blood finally arrived it wasn't a shock.

oneday welcome. With dd, I went for an early apt with the dr and she referred me for a 'reassurance' scan before my booking in appointment which was nice. This time, I am avoiding the dr and seeing the midwife after a private scan. I just don't want to go through all the baby discussions when I am not sure if we will get that far.

Now my POASing......I have my tests all lined up in a row so I can check them for how dark they are. I am a medical engineer so into that sort of thing (geek) but unfortunately no long work in a field so I can do lots of self testing as I would given the opportunity. I used to work in an office with a lab room with lots of old ultrasound machines that I could play with....if only I had that now.

Still feeling less nauseous but I did get a 3+ with FMU today Grin. Dh thinks I am mad after leaving a pot of pee out for him to do when new tests arrived this morning. Now just got to hold out for my scan on the 31st as not sure what else I can do as the tests are pretty dark now and so not sure what I can do to check the hcg is rising.

Really should try and do some work.....

TeachersPest · 18/08/2014 11:58

I am in the holding out to tell the Dr until after my scan club. We are in the process of being referred to Fertility clinic for treatment, which because of having 1 DD, has taken its time to get. I have my scan on Wednesday all being well I will call Dr on Thursday.

I am also going to do another CB digi tomorrow morning, so if the date has reduced then I can prepare for bad news on Wednesday..........Ok I know that makes no sense as 1. HCG levels remained after my mcs, as TinyTear said, and 2. CB digi aren't reliable enough to base it on.......but even though I know this I will still do it, because I am nuts. TTC for a long time and mc have driven me to be so, so I do kind of have an excuse Wink

YaY for you 3+ reading LIG it's a great to see it isn't it?

OneDay I love that your dog knew about your BFPs before you did. I think its amazing that they can pick up on the vibe before humans have a clue

Bristolian1 · 18/08/2014 18:28

Thanks for the nice welcome ladies! I'm right there with you on the POAS vibe. 3 in 3 days last week. Fortunately, we've gone away for a long weekend in Ireland where my stock of pregnancy tests is miles away - it has helped my sanity quite a lot!
liveinabox I hope you are OK?
teachers wishing you good luck for your scan on Wednesday

TinyTear · 18/08/2014 18:47

Scan weds here as well. But I will only be 5+6 so don't expect to see much

OP posts:
FizzyPinkWine · 18/08/2014 18:50

Teachers, good luck for the scan on wed. Hope it goes well.
I'm the same with testing at the mo, obsessed with how dark the line is. Mine are still very faint, so worrying about that.
I've had some terrible cramping this afternoon. Not feeling very hopeful at the mo, convinced I'm having a chemical. Not even contacted the dr yet, so it won't be recorded if it is a chemical.
So many things going through my head. All I want to do is to drink a bottle of wine and smoke 10 cigarettes!!!!

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 19/08/2014 05:53

Hi everyone,

Glad to see everyone is well and holding their nerve. I'm about 8 weeks now, so still have a month to go avoiding a breakdown Confused before i allow myself to go to the doc/for a scan.

I try to have some days where i stay off MN completely, to stop myself obsessing! I just want the days to pass a little quicker until i can see my baby, feel the kicks...

I was nauseous from about 5 weeks, then it died down about 7, then out of nowhere i was throwing up in the bus plus 5 times after that, it was horrific. I thought maybe it was something i ate rather than MS, but no one else was.... anyone had a similar experience?

Allthefours · 19/08/2014 06:41

Hello, may I join in?

I had a feint BFP yesterday (after a weekend of BFN and tears), a FRER test this morning was a strong positive so I guess that today I'm pregnant.

I had a MMC in June at 12 weeks which was picked up at my routine scan. Baby measured 8+3. I went on to miscarry naturally the week after the scan so thankfully no medical intervention.

I have PCOS and ridiculously irregular cycles so decided not to wait for first AF following the MMC. I'm in total shock that I've conceived during the first cycle. It took 18 months ttc last time around. I'm scared that this pregnancy won't continue, can't brings elf to look at the antenatal threads just yet.

Stats are Allthefours, 40, #4 (3dc from previous marriage 19, 17 and 14), due late April ish. Approx 4+3

LIG1979 · 19/08/2014 06:41

Lila - hope the scan goes well today and you aren't too nervous. Please let us know how you get on.

Dontbeblue - I have heard it comes and goes as the hcg rises then levels then rises again. So it is possible!

Fizzy - I would also like alcohol and some cigarettes (and I don't even smoke). With dd I went off alcohol but now I just want beer ! I walked past a woman smoking yesterday and it smelt lovely.

Teachers - with dd I nearly went along to my 1 st fertility appt with a dr when 6 weeks pregnant as it had taken so long to get that far I didn't want to loose my spot. This time I was just doing the blood tests when I finally got pg. I was hoping that starting the process would kick start my body.

The nausea seems to have kicked in again so feeling quite Grin again.
