Had a miscarriage and due in April 2015? shall we try not to scare the other ones?

Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Good luck about now London

the blood flow thing was done to me at later scans 3 years ago... not sure if it was because of my GD or if they now do it normally...

Lovely news jbee

Good luck london

I had the blood flow thing at the 12 week scan, it was amazing watching it

Also, just a thought; what does everyone think about signing off with their weeks+days at the end of each post? I saw it on another thread and thought it was a good idea as I'm finding it quite difficult to keep up with where everyone is and remember how far along everyone is, so it might be quite helpful? (plus it means that we can all insanely compare symptoms with those who are at similar stages!)

And really hoping you're getting some reassurance as we speak london

TinyTear · 22/09/2014 13:30

I will do it after my 12w scan! Last thursday I should have been 10w+0 by dates, 10w+2 by scan and they dates me at 10w+4 so I haven't got a clue where I am exactly

Hi! I've got great news :) We saw our miracle beanie baby with heart beating and umbilical cord forming. Beanie has a head and a bottom but no limbs as it's too early.

They date at 9+1. This is the furthest that I have made for the last 3 pregnancies. I'm so excited and can finally believe that I am pregnant :)

Tiny thanks for thinking me at my exact scan time :)

Oneday pls can I add my pregnancy status once I get to 12 weeks? I just feel like I might jinx myself - and yes I know that I'm not being rational!

Thank you all of your support and good wishes. You are a super bunch of ladies Thanks

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 22/09/2014 14:30

Oh london thats such a lovely post I feel a bit tearful, im so happy for you x

im a bit further along than all of you I think im 14 +1 and can safely inform you london that im not rational either Wink

TinyTear · 22/09/2014 14:43

Yay, so happy London!

yes, when we are all at the 12w stage we can even make a little stats list

congratulations jbee and london!!!

Happy to add my pregnancy status at this point, This is al part of my attempting to be positive all the time as I promised the midwife. I got an appointment to see an obstetrician this morning, on the same day as my 16 week mw appointment.

Great news london and jbee :)

oneday my symptom have also dropped off considerably in the last day or 2 (I'm 9+4) so I am also attempting not to freak out - and failing. I've just ring and brought my Monday scan forward to Thursday as my nerves just can't take it.

Signing off with our dates is a great idea, I'll do that after 12 weeks though please - feels a bit jinxy right now.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 22/09/2014 18:15

Woo hoo fantastic news london I'm so happy for you. Did your DH make it to the scan too?

Completely understand the reluctance to add dates for fear of jinxing. I still will (and lila too) if no one minds as I too am desperately trying my best to tell myself that I need to be positive and there's absolutely nothing I can do either way to affect this pregnancy (wow, I almost convinced myself reading that back) Had to buy my first ever maternity trousers at the weekend and a top too, mostly because it was on sale and I liked it rather than because it was maternity wear.

Positive thoughts and vibes to us all

Good news London and jbee. Grin

I am quite ok with dates as I feel achievement with each day I tick off still being pg. I hate discussion about due dates and the way they always want to give you due dates at scans and with the Dr and midwife. Unfortunately the due date for this one is now in my head after being told it 4 times so if it doesn't work out it will be another sad date etched on my memory.

LittleBairn · 22/09/2014 21:05

London the Nuchal can be done up to 13w5days or somewhere close. I know because with DS we tried to have a second go at doing it and he still refused to cooperate.

Glad everyone is having a good day.

Does anyone else's DH like it when the vomit? My DH grins like a fool, for him that a sign it's really happening. Hmm maybe mine is just weird...

10+1

LittleBairn · 22/09/2014 21:07

In regards to dates for me the important one is 24 weeks for me.

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/09/2014 05:01

Thanks for the good wishes Thanks

Oneday yes luckily my DH made it to the scan :) He had to dash off straight away but he saw our beanie :)

Unfortunately he won't be able to make it to any of upcoming scans, that is, the NHS nuchal scan and the harmony test. Speaking of which, I've got my harmony scan booked for next Thursday. DH is convinced it's a waste if money but I'd rather have the peace of mind. I think we will also find out the sex but won't be telling any friends or family...... Unless it's a girl as my DS desperately wants a brother & not a sister! In which case, we will have to get him used to the idea. He's 7 years old and due to my recurrent miscarriages we haven't told him. But he's been asking for a sibling for so long and according to him that sibling HAS to be a brother!

I'm also planning to buy a 'I'm going to be a big brother' t-shirt - this is how I'm going to let the rest of my family know about my pregnancy. But this will be only be shared after I get my harmony results. Fingers crossed it'll all be good.

Bye & have a good day ladies!

TinyTear · 23/09/2014 06:48

My husband hasn't made it to any scans either. He can make the NHS 12 and NHS 20 though

OP posts:
Shetland · 23/09/2014 07:10

My partner won't make it to any scans I don't think.

Does somebody have a scan today or have I made that up?!

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/09/2014 07:56

Tiny great that your DH can make the 12 & 20 week scans. My husband job is very awkward and he can't get the time off v easily.

Shetland will you be taking anyone with you to the scans? My mother is hoping to come to the NHS 12 week scan.

Not sure if anyone is having a scan today?

TinyTear · 23/09/2014 08:23

Not sure about today either... i think there are a few later in the week...

My NHS12 is at 9h20am, so my DH is thinking of going to the office late... he can also work from home which is handy

i am quite lucky... the other day our DD had a dodgy tummy so they said she couldn't go to the nursery the next day and i had a client coming to the office, so he worked from home... - plonked her in front of cbeebies and with paper and crayons... :-)

although the main issue was she was distracted by so MUCH TV when he had just started a conference call he heard "I had an accident" coming from the living room so had to mute himself and clean her up...

OP posts:
LondonSuperTrooper · 23/09/2014 09:10

Ahh the perils of working from home Wink It sounds like you have the ideal set up Tiny. That will be handy when baby#2 comes along :)

Unfortunately I'm left to bear the school runs, the afterschool activities etc. And due to the nature of his job he definitely cannot work from home!

TinyTear · 23/09/2014 09:26

I am very lucky, usually he does drop off and I pick up. His bosses are mostly in US so he gets the afternoon and evening conference calls as well...

and sometimes I travel more than him, although my trips are one night only usually, and his can be a whole week...

Am I right in assuming your DH works in the hospital, if yes, yep that sort of job is impossible to do the work at home things... My BIL is a consultant and my SIL also has to to 99% of the child care drop off, pick up things...

OP posts:
Shetland · 23/09/2014 09:36

I'll probably be going on my own to scans tbh. A friend offered to come with me but my 12 week is on a day she works so it can't be done. It's ok - I can cope on my own.

Stuntman · 23/09/2014 09:52

I have a private scan booked for Thursday morning. I really can't afford it but my mum gave me some money so I'm going to use it for that instead of using it for something I really need. I have to say that it's the right decision as the price of a scan isn't going to make a huge difference to my financial difficulties but I feel so much better just for having it booked whereas before I was going stir crazy with the stress. I'll be going on my own as I haven't told DH that I'm pregnant yet. Shock It was such a terrible time when I miscarried because DH was in Japan and hadn't given me any contact details so I couldn't call him. By the time he called me it was all over. Then the hospital lost my records so we never got to go to the memorial service. He's so stressed out at the moment that I couldn't face adding to it with worry about this pregnancy. At least after Thursday's scan I'll feel able to tell him. It's going to be a big shock as it was an unexpected pregnancy, quite the surprise at my age and considering how many years it took to conceive last time.

Shetland · 23/09/2014 10:00

I'll hold your hand stuntman I have a scan on Thursday too

TinyTear · 23/09/2014 10:06
