Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Fab news Oneday. What a big relief for you :)

Smiling I'm v sorry but your bosses sound horrid! Not to mention cold & unfeeling. I guess you gave to stick it out until you go on maternity leave ;)

LondonSuperTrooper · 14/09/2014 23:05

Sorry for typos. Gave = have!

lila35 · 15/09/2014 09:00

Great news on the scans lig and one day, what a relief for you.

I have my 12 week scan on Friday, I have plenty of symptoms still but its not stopping me worrying.

Smiling, you'll just have to be clear about what you are comfortable doing and not, they really shouldn't be judging you by their own emotions and responses to things, everyone is different. It must be tempting to throw in a sick day here and there Wink

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 15/09/2014 09:36

You know the odd thing is they really arent horrible bosses, ive worked for them for 6 years and always got on well with them, itsjust been since the miscarriage Sad

they are health fanatics, days off for them are about bike riding, running, swimming, going for long walks, sailing etc so I just dont think it occurs to them that actually at 12 weeks pregnant after having a mc at 15 weeks last time I might not actually be feeling up to walking 1.20 hours a day!

ive been up all night feeling ill, I dont know if its morning sickness, trapped wind or a bug, poor dp spent most of the night rubbing my back and im now even more stressed about my scan tomorrow.

Managed to do the school run but am now curled up on the sofa at work feeling awful.

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 09:40

Enjoy the time to wallow before you need to get your charges from school!

I guess people forget that pregnancy is different for everyone smiling - doesn't make it any easier for you though :(

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/09/2014 13:03

Poor you Smiling

Due to my previous 3 miscarriages I have been told by my miscarriage clinic & EPU that I am not to exercise till after 16 weeks. Can't you tell your bosses that too?

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/09/2014 13:04

I was also told not to have intercourse till 12 weeks!!

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 13:16

I did abstain to 12 weeks with my DD.... but yesterday's one didn't seem to have done any harm (so far)

The midwife on friday said not to carry really heavy stuff - ha! she is on the 9th centile, but my DD does like to dead weight on me and ask to be carried...

OP posts:
LondonSuperTrooper · 15/09/2014 13:48

Tiny I was told not to carry heavy stuff too! Glad to hear that you are OK after yesterday's adventure ;)

Have you had your Harmony scan? I'm dithering whether to book mine at 10 or 11 weeks. 10 weeks one is cheaper but will require 2 separate visits.... decisions decisions!

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 13:53

it's Thursday
Should be 10+2 by the last scan's dates

i am doing it now as i wanted a 10w scan - not sure i can last till 12w!!

going on a business trip tomorrow so at least will have my mind off things a bit... still really scared though...

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/09/2014 14:09

Oooh best of luck for Thursday! I'm not surprised that you are nervous. Its a big monumental test and its results can be life changing. I think that you are the same age as me? I'm 40 yo. Are you going to find out the sex?

My DH & I will have to decide when to do it soon - he's finally come round to the idea of going for the test. I think he wants to stop me from stressing at the nuchal scan results.

Smiling I hope that you are feeling rested now.

Hi to everyone else :)

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 14:11

I was 40 until last month {wail} Grin

Yes, I want to find the sex too...

OP posts:
LondonSuperTrooper · 15/09/2014 14:29

I'm older than you then - I'll be 41 in November..... where have all the years gone?!

I'm not fussed about the sex of the baby but I'd like to find out the sex IYSWIM. DH & I haven't had this discussion though.... not till I get the all clear from my scan next Monday.

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 14:31

No you're not, I was 41 last Month (August) that is what I meant saying I was 40 until last month Smile

We found out last time, and he knows i want to so is going along with it as he has no strong feelings

Oh sorry, I misread your post :)

DH feels the same as your DH. First time round he really wanted to have a DS. So much so, that he chose the name at 12 weeks!! Now that we've got our much longed DS, this time round he just wants a healthy baby, as do I :)

LIG1979 · 15/09/2014 16:01

hi all,
in sunny Spain now but having a panic. on the plane had 2 electric shock like things on my tummy. not painful at all but enough to make me squeal. Not really sure what to do as abroad. With dd I did get braxton hicks from around 13 weeks (but didn't know what they were at the time) but 9 weeks seems very early doesn't it? I hope it is nothing more serious.

Gender wise with dd I wanted it to be alive but found out just so we could plan. (But it really helped with attachment to the blob.) This time if we make it to 20 weeks we will find out, but I want a another girl and dh wants a boy. I feel bad for saying that!!!!

TinyTear · 15/09/2014 16:04

LIG could just be streching pains, i get a few on occasions...

And I am the same, we have a DD, secretly I would love another, but would be happy with any take-home baby and DH would like a boy, but would be happy anyway...

Ive got my 12 week scan today and im a nervous wreck, I spent 2 hours sobbing last night because I dreamt they couldnt see a baby Sad I had scans at 6, 8 and 10 weeks but im still scared.

TinyTear · 16/09/2014 06:54

Good luck smiling.

My 12w one is on the 7th Oct but I have the 10w one Thursday

OP posts:
smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 16/09/2014 07:06

The 10w one is what kept me sane till now, I highly recommend getting a private scan done, the gaps between scans are too long.

scan is at 10.30 which seems hours away
