Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Oh London I'm sorry, I hope you get some positive news, have you heard anything?

Hello smiling! I am 9+4, wishing every week away at this point!!

Great news for you bristol, what a relief!

How are you feeling about your scan tiny? I'm sure all will be well. Hope you sleep well tonight.

LIG1979 · 02/09/2014 19:15

I am so sorry London. You poor thing. Hopefully, the blood test will just show that your charting was out. Both with dd and this pregnancy I ovulated (according to scan date) both before a positive opk and temperature rise by a few days. very odd after months of charting including when I used to have 40+ day cycles and still managed to predict af, the cycles I got it wrong i got pg on.

Stuntman · 02/09/2014 19:26

I did another pregnancy test today just to check I was actually pregnant. Stupid I know as it doesn't actually mean much but it was still reassuring to see the positive pop up. I don't understand why I don't feel pregnant: no nausea, not fatigued, no tummy trouble. I went out for a run with DS1 at the weekend and felt fine. My last four pregnancies I spent the first trimester sick as a dog, in bed straight after dinner, couldn't drink tea etc.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 02/09/2014 21:20

Im sorry London, I hope you get some positive news, the waiting for news is so hard.

Shetland · 03/09/2014 06:20

Hi smiling

So sorry london - I can imagine how anxious you must be feeling. I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I have been sick as hell yesterday and overnight. I'm not sure if it's morning sickness or if I have a bug - I suspect the latter, and that makes me really worried as when I had my mmc I also had a big and I know from the dates that that is when the pregnancy ended. I've gone from feeling relatively ok to nervous wreck in the space of a couple of hours.

LIG1979 · 03/09/2014 06:54

Shetland - hope you feel better soon. If you temperature is up make sure you take paracetamol to bring it down as that can be bad for the baby. don't panic - pg people have stomach bugs all the time and are fine.

Was thinking about a womb cam earlier - there could be a market for it. We have a Web cam for dd but an internal one would be good.

LIG1979 · 03/09/2014 06:58

Oh and good luck today tiny - will be thinking of you.

Stuntman · 03/09/2014 07:00

Hang in there Shetland, remember it's normal to feel nauseous it doesn't necessarily mean anything untoward.

I hope London has had some resolution one way or another. In some ways the waiting is the hardest part.

Shetland · 03/09/2014 08:05

Thanks guys.

Good luck today tiny

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 03/09/2014 08:08

Hi shetland my body cant win if I feel sick, pee a lot, gums bleed, toothbrushing makes me gag then I panic because I felt and did all that with my mmc.

if I dont feel sick, hardly pee at all, my gums dont bleed and I can brush my teeth with no problems then I panic because it must mean ive had a mc Confused

feeling sick is normal and even if it is a bug im sure it will be fine (although im sorry you feel so ill) it doesnt stop you worrying though and nothing I say will so ill just send you a big hug and keep my fingers crossed x

just getting ready for my scan, ive been awake since 4am worrying

LondonSuperTrooper · 03/09/2014 08:09

Thanks all. EPU did not ring me last night. I've just called them & left them a message. I think my pregnancy as short as it was is definitely over :(

Take it easy Shetland & hope that you can shake off your bag soon.

Tiny best of luck with your scan. I hope that it goes well. Just out of interest, did you gain anything useful from the overeating workshop? I've been eating like there's no tomorrow since yesterday's scan Angry :( Angry

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 03/09/2014 08:58

shetland keeping your temperature down is definitely the most important part so do take paracetamol if it creeps up. Hoping you feel better soon.

Good luck today tiny with the scan

Smiling I hear you. 6+4 today and still no constant nausea like I had with my pregnancy that ended in mc. Felt really sick most of the day on Sunday/Monday and then not a huge amount today/yesterday. Really don't know what to think. I felt much more 'unwell' in my last pregnancy but I keep trying to tell myself that maybe it's a good think I don't feel as unwell, because when I did, it ended in mc?! Driving myself bonkers.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 03/09/2014 08:59

And I'm sorry to EPU didn't get back in touch with you london Hoping you get some answers today x

TinyTear · 03/09/2014 09:09

on my way out the door, shall update later

Brilliant news tiny. GrinGrinGrinGrin 8 weeks and a heart beat is definitely a step in the right direction to a second baby.

London - any news?

LondonSuperTrooper · 03/09/2014 09:58

Fab news Tiny! What an amazing achievement :)

No news from me... still waiting for the blooming EPU to ring me with my blood results. I know its bad news but I'd wish that they'd just confirm my worst fears!

Bristolian1 · 03/09/2014 10:14

Amazing news tiny!

london I'm so sorry you still haven't heard from them. Still keeping everything crossed for you

shetland I hope you feel better soon, second everyone's advice re fever and you never know - it could just be the mother of all morning sickness!

I've got up, got dressed, had breakfast and made it to work. Can I have a nap now please?

TinyTear · 03/09/2014 10:59

London hope you hear from them soon!

I will try and write something about the eating workshop later, but the main things was to try and first identify the triggers (daily) and then use distraction techniques to prevent the binges - by moving your route so you don't go past a certain shop where you buy food, or by trying to wait 10 minutes and then see if you still want to, or by not having binge food at home...

all makes sense but it's the will power that needs to be worked on...

Great news tiny Grin

And good luck Smiling - sorry, I missed that you had a scan today as well.

Still got my fingers and toes crossed for you london

LondonSuperTrooper · 03/09/2014 11:46

Thanks for your concern . I've rang the EPU again & left a message as they do not open till 1pm. Usually they ring back very promptly but for some reason a doctor is running the department & not a midwife.

I'm very cross as they must realise that this must be a traumatic time for any of their patients!

Tiny thanks for the tips..... it all sounds so easy but the reality is anything but!

In the meantime, I think that I will make an appointment to see Mr s privately as the NHS have done all the tests that they can do. My consultant told me in July that there are 2 other tests/treatments but that this is only available privately.

Has anyone seen Mr Shahata privately?

LondonSuperTrooper · 03/09/2014 12:13

Well, the EPU have just rang me to let me know that they are short staffed & that someone will call me back regarding my blood results Confused

LIG1979 · 03/09/2014 13:12

London - that is crap that they are not getting back to you. There are 2 girls from my 1st mc who have seen Dr S and both now have dc s after multiple mcs. I think he has got good sucess statistics.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 03/09/2014 13:38

Wonderful news tiny Congratulations!

Hope everything goes/went well for you too smiling

London I'm sorry your EPU are being so slack. It's really not fair at all.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 03/09/2014 16:23

London thats terrible treatment from the EPU is there anyway you could get your gp to call them and chase up the results?

Lovely news about your scan tiny

Well I have a wriggly baby with a very strong heartbeat 169bpm.

She/he was laying on hes/her back at first but then rolled over and we saw a little hand waving.

dates are looking right so due date is the 29th of march, I allowed myself to relax enough to buy a little sleepsuit but dont think ill fully relax until im actually holding the baby.
