Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Fantastic news smiling Really pleased for you!

Hope you're okay london

dancestomyowntune · 03/09/2014 21:15

Hoping London has had some news either way. Shocking treatment from her EPU, think I'd be complaining if I was her!

Fantastic news Smiling!

LondonSuperTrooper · 03/09/2014 23:47

Sorry for not posting earlier. I had a half day off & had to pick up my DS from my mum's house - first day at junior school tomorrow! And typically for me, I've left it to the very last minute to label and iron his uniform.

Thank you all for your concern, it's heartwarming :) EPU rang me late afternoon to say that my blood results are 'reassuring' and that I do not need to have the 48hr blood test. I pushed hard for this but alas they kept insisting that it' isn't necessary. I'm having a scan next Wednesday and they are hoping that they can see something by then. So I guess that I'm playing the waiting game. My DH and I are happy with the results but we both said that we will not celebrate just yet..... Need to get to the 8 weeks stage first.

I've been going to Epsom GH EPU. They were absolutely fab with me in my last 3 miscarriages..... The EPU has changed and it's not for the better.

V sorry that I can't do personals as I'm on my phone.

Super news Smiling!

Really pleases your scans went well tiny and smiling.

London, that's good news to, I think you are right to be cautiously optimistic but things are looking positive for you.its upsetting that they took so long to get back to you.

TinyTear · 04/09/2014 06:46

Cautiously optimistic is the way to go. Hope your scan will be a good one next week x

Good news London. Hope the next week goes quickly for you.

dancestomyowntune · 04/09/2014 06:58

That's good news London. So pleased things look like they are going in the right direction.

Shetland · 04/09/2014 07:44

That's great london. Very reassuring. shame they won't do the 48 hour test, but I guess from their point of view it would just be for your reassurance which is sadly probably not a good enough reason for them to do it.

I'm feeling better today, still slightly sick, which I'm hoping is morning sickness but time will tell. Can't shake the feeling of impending doom though. Hopefully I will get a scan appointment through for next week.

LIG1979 · 04/09/2014 08:00

London glad you got some good news but frustrating that they won't do the 48 hour test so you can get some reassurance. Although it sounds like your EPU is struggling a bit at the moment so I guess it is only essential work they are doing. I hope the next scan is a good one.

Shetland glad you are on the mend. Hopefully it was a bout of morning sickness.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 04/09/2014 08:23

Glad you got some good news london

heres hoping its morning sickness shetland

TinyTear · 04/09/2014 08:27

it's funny, i haven't really been getting morning sickness, but instead afternoon nausea...

And honestly ladies, this enhanced sense of smell coupled with a potty training/using daughter has led to some iffy situations, although fortunately still haven't been sick...

My morning sickness kicks in at 7pm and the 3 days a week I work it starts at 6am but oddly I dont have it in the morning on my days off!

Shetland · 04/09/2014 11:52

I find I have about half an hour's grace in the morning before mine kicks in so it definitely starts earlier on work days.

I just had to stop at the garage to get a cheese and onion pasty (nice healthy craving!) so I guess my cravings are still there - I'll take that as a good sign!!

Bristolian1 · 04/09/2014 12:46

Now I want a cheese and onion pasty! Thanks shetland

LIG1979 · 04/09/2014 13:25

My nausea is currently all day.....but it worst within minutes of waking up and then gets really bad around 6pm till bedtime. DH is off work this week with a torn hamstring and has been making me dinner so I eat dinner when I get home which is helping. Not sure what will happen when he goes back to work.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 04/09/2014 14:02

I can just about handle the morning sickness, its the exhaustion thats getting to me I have no energy, im currently laid on the floor at work because its the only place I could get comfortable trying to find the energy to get up and get ready for the school run (im a nanny)

Shetland · 04/09/2014 14:11

It was bloody lovely bristolian Grin

Yes, the exhaustion is definitely a challenge and I find I'm constantly eating as it seems to help keep the nausea at bay.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 04/09/2014 14:23

Yes I seem to snack all day.

Also unless I actually fancy eating something there's no point eating it because it will just come back up anyway, its making meal times challenging

LIG1979 · 04/09/2014 14:32

Smiling - my 1st thought was can I get away with lying on the floor at work?Grin I am in an open plan office.
A nanny must be exhausting anyway without pregnancy to also worry about.

I am in work today and not had a nap today. Over the weekend I managed to pretty much sleep like my 2 year old with 12 hours at night and a 2 hr nap in the day. I find if I get tired the nausea gets worse and then I can't sleep because I feel sick. A bit of a vicious circle!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 04/09/2014 14:51

Luckily both my charges are back at school today, hence the lying on the floor, the holidays were hard thankfully I only work 3 days but thats enough I work 7.30-7 so its a long day.

on my days off I sleep for at least 2 hours in the afternoon and am in bed at 8pm.

my boss has just informed me that they would like me to walk my charges to school once a week, its a 45min walk each way with some pretty steep hills, im trying to decide whether to tell them im pregnant or not, I was hoping to keep it secret for a few more weeks but I can picture myself crawling up to the school gate.
