Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Stats here.

Yay that worked :)

Loobyloo893 · 24/07/2014 14:57

It worked Grin thanks

KateTheHuman · 24/07/2014 17:13

Exactly 2 weeks after having the quad test done I got my low risk results letter. Yay! :)

RPopz · 24/07/2014 17:36

Bloody hell you lot like to chat. Am I the only one working for a living?? Wink Grin

16 week app this morning, heard a lovely little heartbeat Smile and some placenta wooshing... Hmm

Hope everyone's coping ok in this heat!

16+5

KateTheHuman · 24/07/2014 17:39

Aww glad you heard the heartbeat rpopz! I seem to spend all my workday online haha. :-)

Loobyloo893 · 24/07/2014 18:39

Aw glad u heard heartbeat rpopz. I was sat on sofa playing on phone all afternoon asDS told me I wasn't allowed to play with him or his toys today! Charming hey?!

rumisyum · 24/07/2014 18:54

THIS HEAT. So uncharacteristic for a girl from the tropics. Sad

Welcome, Swathi! Smile

Ahaha! That pocket gopher is adorable Pru. At 15+1 I'm apparently pregnant with the equivalent of a mouse lemur Grin

Love the idea of a book list! Do Amazon lists have maximum numbers? I have about a million things saved on mine, but I know they are Evil and Not To Be Supported so I'd be happy with something else. Not that I have the foggiest idea how to use google docs...

Mad your labour sounds exactly like the kind I would like to have. Smile

Good sign about the perfect name there, Camsie.

Mouse lemur joy!

phoebs88 · 24/07/2014 19:21

Aww, I am 15 wks today so also have a mouse lemur sized bubba!

1 week tomo is my 16 wk appt and then 1 wk on sat I might just find out the sex!!... I booked in a gender scan with baby bond to cheer myself up! OH doesn't know that's what we're doing, so v excited to surprise him when we get there Grin

Saraswati · 24/07/2014 19:52

Aw a mouse lemur is so cute! Where are you finding these animal sizes?! I'm 18 weeks tomorrow, I wanna know how big my baby Jesus is!

Lovely surprise phoebs had you agreed to find out the gender anyway?

Great heartbeat/low risk news today. In my news I'm puking again today :( Jesus is seriously taking the piss now!! However he/she must have grown because my friend said I looked bigger since he saw me on sat and the baby didn't stop wriggling around all day. It seems to be very active!!hopefully when it's born it'll be tired and sleep lots ;) a girl can dream right?!

RPopz · 24/07/2014 20:18

That's crappy Saras - perhaps it's the heat? Glad you managed a von free birthday at least. Can't believe how much you feel Jesus move!! You seem so much further on than everyone else x

Liking the book list idea Viv - I'm usually an insatiable researcher of things... but have been strangely lax with this pg lark. I have two pg books but only reading the sections which apply to me now... ignoring the future haha!

Still contemplating pg yoga - but all the classes are on the posh side of town. Is it worth it for a beginner do we think?

A mn friend had a baby boy by elcs today... He's so adorable.... Smile Smile Smile

Saraswati · 24/07/2014 20:32

Could you do a drop in class rpopz or do you have to sign up to a course? Do a drop in as a trial, see if you like it or not. I'm biased so I think everyone in the world should be doing yoga!!

I'm a sneaky dec due date so may seem a bit further ahead! My friend didn't feel a thing until after 20 weeks, it seems to vary loads. Jesus seems to react a lot to the morning iced coffee I've been treating myself to, although I don't feel movement everyday.

Camsie30 · 24/07/2014 20:59

I love the mouse lemur! I was imagining today that it looked like a slow loris, so random!!

Just ordered 4 pairs of maternity pilates pants, none of mine fit! Not intending to keep all 4, but couldn't really decide without trying them on.

Love the book list idea, I'm also a big researcher. Really happy with What to Expect When You're Expecting, and a friend is lending me What To Expect In The First Year, which she loved.

Saras I've just been asking google what animals are the same average length as baby is currently. Invariably it turns up a lot of stuff about penises at this stage tho! Wink

I've wondered about movements, but obviously can't be sure in any way yet. But one night when lying in bed a couple weeks ago I felt what I can only describe as a glass of bubbly overflowing down in my pelvis. It was so cute & reminded me of how the baby had been jigging about when it got moving at one of our scans. Then a couple days ago while driving it felt like I was being very gently flicked from the inside. That was so distracting! I totally took my attention off the road briefly as I had a WHOA, is that BABY?! moment. Dangerous thing, pregnancy. Wink I've had that flicking feeling a couple times since, but it's so faint I'm still not sure it's not my bowels. Because oh nelly, my bowels! I am so full of hot air at the moment. Farting for England all this week. Blush

Rpopz I'm contemplating yoga as well, but none of the ones near here offer drop-ins! I have to commit to whole course at some outrageous price. It would be nice to meet other local expecting mums, though.

phoebs88 · 24/07/2014 21:12

Saras, yes - we had agreed to find out at the 20 wk scan if we could. So we (hopefully!) will be finding out a few wks earlier.

Got my downs screening back today - 1 in 1900. Didn't seem as good as I had hoped but once it was in percentage form it seemed a lot better!

SK28 · 24/07/2014 21:19

Rpopz and Rum I'm in same boat re yoga - would like to try it, never have before, but no trial is offered. I think I'm going to go for it as would be nice way to meet other pg ladies in the area. I'm not sure about NCT antenatal classes yet and the yoga is cheaper than those so feels like maybe the better option!

ViviPru · 24/07/2014 21:32

Yeah same re: animal sizes, just a google trawl...

I'm annoyed about yoga. There don't seem to be ANY classes in my area at all Sad I'm doing ante-natal Pilates but I REALLY want to do a classic yoga class tailored for pregnancy. I contacted a local instructor who mentions it on her website, she replied today saying she does one-to-one sessions at her house which are £40 a session. Other than the cost I prefer the idea of a group session. Grr so frustrating.

Also in further miserable news, my Mum has whooping cough. So as well as not being able to have any contact we're also worrying that I've been exposed. And I'm worried about the effect it's having on her physically. She's generally fit and healthy but it's a reminder that she's not as hardy as she's getting older.

Bah. Sorry for gloomy post Sad

RPopz · 24/07/2014 21:53

Ah rubbish Viv - have you organised to have a vaccination? They usually offer later on for winter pregs, could be worth asking sooner?

Think the yoga classes are pay as you go... it's just the getting there - on the other side of town on a work night. Would like to meet some other expecting ladies tho. Build up a network for myself... Smile

I haven't been that impressed with WTEWYE Cams! Very Americany and find a myself skipping big chunks. I got it on kindle tho so it was cheap at least.

Just been watching OBEM again with Mr P. Is it weird to be kind of looking forward to childbirth???

Camsie30 · 24/07/2014 22:06

RPopz have you got the UK version? I haven't found it Americany at all... Apparent the Rough Guide is good and funny, one of my friends is lending it to me

ViviPru · 24/07/2014 22:16

I'm definitely going to have the vaccination (although know it's not entirely guaranteed effective/without risk) I'm going to speak to the GP tomorrow and see what they advise.

My favourite books so far are the Emily Oster's bible Expecting Better and I also really enjoyed The Good Birth Companion by Nicole Croft. When I'm on my laptop I'll start a column on the spreadsheet and we can use that for now until someone has a better idea.

Dec2013mummy · 25/07/2014 05:07

Morning all, have been awake for 2 hours now. :( mainly because Dh came to bed at 3 (was working and handy realised the time) and told me some very annoying house news. Sooooo basically, to get it off my chest and hopefully sleep, we we are/ were buying a new build. Our sale fell through, twice, due to other peoples stupidity. We therefore went down the part ex route. We got quite a good offer for ours, but they wouldn't give us the original deal, fast forward 4 weeks and they finally agreed. Dh was checking they had put our plot as reserved to notice that the plot next door (same house) that was originally on for 15k more as it's a slightly bigger plot, has now been dropped by 30k taking it to 5 k below what we have agreed. Fuming doesn't even come close!! As you have probably guessed, myself and my full blown pregnancy hormones will be marching into their office the minute they open to demand a much better offer or we will pull out!! Grrrrrr! Puts us back to square one though :(
Sorry totally in pregnancy related but needed a rant :)
Now to try and sleep before Ds wakes me up.

Dec that's very annoying! Be forceful with the builder. They will not want to lose a sale.
We did px on a new build last year so if you've got any q just ask... we love our house!

In other news I was exhausted yesterday and went to bed at 10 where I slept all night (apart from a couple of toilet trips)! Feeling much better today!

Have a good day ladies!
