MelleG thinking of you today, I can't do more than echo what everyone else has said, it's a horrible awful thing to have to face but I think you are so strong and amazing. Massive hugs for you and your DH today, we're all here to hold your hand whatever the outcome. I really hope it's good news for you or that the decision regardless is taken out of your hands.

PolytheneGirl · 30/06/2014 08:04

Good luck today Mlle you'll be in my thoughts all day. We're all hoping for the best possible outcome for you but no matter what, you will get through this and we will be there every step of the way. Sending you love and support.

PolytheneGirl · 30/06/2014 08:30

Sorry Fox an ELCS is an elective c-section.

chillychicken · 30/06/2014 08:47

Mlle I'm thinking of you today xx

Threnody · 30/06/2014 09:00

Mademoiselle - Will be thinking of you, fx, and hugs!

Threnody · 30/06/2014 09:02

I told my parents at the weekend! Then promptly burst into tears! It was my dad's 65th birthday last week, so I asked if he felt old, then asked if being grandparents would make them feel older. they seemed pleased but surprised - not sure why!

lindamagoo · 30/06/2014 09:15

OH is feeling a bit better today, what a rough night he had though Sad Think it's defo been food poisoning. 3 more sleeps then it's scan day Smile

hanflan · 30/06/2014 09:24

Morning all! Wow I've been awol the whole weekend and missed so much!
Went to see Aerosmith on Sat, it was bloody AMAZING! Steve Tyler has still got it ;) Felt really wrong being at a gig/festival and not chugging cider all day though!

mlle I am thinking of you today.

Almost 7 weeks here and I THINK the ms might be kicking in... might not be as I felt sick a couple of weeks ago for one day and then it went so was probably something else. But feeling quite delicate this morning and the only thing that is helping is constantly sipping decaf tea! Makes sense as tea was my failsafe hangover cure whenever I felt a bit chundery. Works like magic!

Urrghhhh Monday :(

freneticfox · 30/06/2014 09:26

Starting my day in floods of tears, work are being horrible. Ugh.

PolytheneGirl · 30/06/2014 09:35

Hanflan I am sooo jealous that you saw Aerosmith. I saw them years ago on the nine lives tour when I was a teen but haven't managed to see them again Sad Definitely the soundtrack of my youth!

Chilly where have you been? Good to see you back Smile

Glad your OH is feeling a bit better Linda

Thanks Fox what's up?

freneticfox · 30/06/2014 09:39

I had a really rough night so I've been trying to either call in sick or see if I can work from home - I daren't even try driving in because I'm extremely dizzy and nauseated. They're refusing to answer the phone, work policy states that an unreported absence is treated as a sanction and formal warning - you HAVE to speak to a line manager. So I'm facing a shit storm when I get back into the office.

I know they're both in, as I've spoken to other staff but they keep giving me excuses as to why nobody will speak to me. I have no idea what to do. People in that office stopped pretending to like me ages ago, but the few people that make things difficult have really ramped it up since I've been pregnant.

Zermatt · 30/06/2014 09:44

Hope your work colleagues aren't being a bunch of dickwads fox

I had tears this morning too, woke up to find lots of angry red stretch marks all over my boobs, was gutted because Ive been religiously moisturising and yes they're a bit bigger but am guessing they'll expand even more as pregnancy goes on. So was having a snivel and a moan to DH and googling how to get rid of stretch marks on the bus into work. Went to the loo at about 9am and had a look again and they'd magically gone, turns out it was sleep crease marks from my pyjamas. Oops.

PolytheneGirl · 30/06/2014 10:07

Oh no Fox what a pain in the arse. Could you email your line manager and let them know you've been trying to get through. Why are people so horrible? I had a similar situation years ago at work and I ended up being so I'll with depression, I left in the end. It's the best thing I ever did!

CallingAllEngels · 30/06/2014 10:11

Zermatt that made me laugh! The only place I have slight stretch marks from last pg is on my boobs but they come and go. I call them my tiger stripes!

fox what a bunch of wankers! My work are being arses as well with workload but at least they're pretending to be nice!

Zermatt · 30/06/2014 10:13

I agree with Poly, send an email and explain you've left messages and requested a call back but no one will put you through or call you back and you have done all you can and it's now their duty of care to call you.

They do sound like utter dickwads.

hanflan · 30/06/2014 10:33

Wow fox what utter spiteful dicks :( I agree with the emailing thing. You can't get into trouble if you have been trying to call in!

Spotti · 30/06/2014 10:37

Well...I managed about an hours worth of 'work' before needing to come back home for a sit down and some food and a nap. But still, that's more than I've managed on some other days recently so I shouldn't really complain (it's must annoying when I've got so much to do and really want to get on with stuff but I just have no bloody energy! Grrr.)

I agree with the above fox, email the line manager and tell them that your friendly dragons say that the rest of the staff are dickwads for not passing on a message...not much more you can do if they won't answer the stupid phone!

Threnody · 30/06/2014 10:38

fox agree with the others, send an email explaining - then there is a record of it. Do you have an HR department you could call as well?

freneticfox · 30/06/2014 10:39

Finally got through. They've decided not to let me work from home at all, so it's either in the office or off sick.

This is meant to be such a happy time :(

Sorry for the moan, ladies.

Zermatt · 30/06/2014 10:54

If you feel unwell just don't go in, and as hard as it is just remember that you and the baby are the most important things and have to come first. You've done nothing wrong, are under the weather and need a day off.

How long have you been there for? Do you have any confidants at work? Are they just unfriendly or is it bordering bullying? If the latter does your company have a HR depart to seek advice from?

freneticfox · 30/06/2014 11:16

It's a weird place to work, rife with office politics. Basically if you don't join in with 'the clique' then you're on your own. This clique likes to bitch and be generally negative, which I didn't sign up for, I just want to do my job. It's nothing more than petty spite that usually goes straight over my head, but I think added hormones are making it tricky.

MademoiselleG · 30/06/2014 12:51

Oh gosh - thank you all so much for the hand-holding. Could you come with me to the actual scan please?
Meeting dh for lunch. We wrote a list of 1 billion questions.
Weird and sad day today...In a way, while I don't know, all could still be well...!

I am thinking about your decision not to get any tests done at all a lot Poly and it is starting to make sense to me. You are a brave woman regardless and I feel like a hypocrite and a really shitty Christian for even considering our 'options'... (I PM'd you ages ago btw when you asked me about something in particular 0 just in case you're on the app as it doesn't tell you!)

Please keep everything firmly crossed for us all. I'll report back this evening but expect to be there until at least 6 pm.

MademoiselleG · 30/06/2014 12:51

And sorry to hear about your shitty workplace fox - hope it gets sorted!
