Just Shagging Grads Thread 9 - Roll Up, Roll Up all you graduated Viroids!

HungryHorace · 07/06/2014 21:41

Welcome to the 9th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed. :-)

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 24th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

For those not in the know, a viroid is an autocorrected version of 'ladies' from the 1st JS thread, which then stuck.

So, roll call below please, viroids. :-)

Ooh that is annoying! We don't get free vitamins around my parts - why the heck not eh? I like freebies as much as the next woman!

RPopz · 13/06/2014 21:39

No freebies here either! And we love free stuff in Yorkshire!! Grin

JuniDD · 13/06/2014 21:53

Ah, bummer about the free vits. They keep trying to push them on me but I've got about 1000 pregnacare to get through. Wonder what the criteria are for giving them out?

wilhelmeaner · 13/06/2014 22:10

Oh I was going to say it's probably a Scottish thing, but not if you get them too Juni. Maybe we just look like we need them! Grin

Nessalina · 13/06/2014 22:39

Well I live in Leeds, my mate lives in Bradford, she got them, I didn't! I think it's either something to do with areas with nutritional issues, or it's just whether there's budget for it!
She did share some of hers with me Grin

DulcetMoans · 13/06/2014 23:16

We get them but I think that's something to do with the type of area you live. All our stuff is through sure start centre and we lie in ex-council estate - a rough bit of town traditionally. So we get the vits and, if you are on benefits, free fruit and veg! I do get free swimming pool access which I thought was good.

My app was talking about giving up smoking last week. Couldn't help think it was a bit bloody late to tell me that by then!

Might have to POAS in the morning, paranoia big style!

JuniDD · 13/06/2014 23:22

I live in a deprived area so guess it's that. Am being kept awake by some delightful neighbours out on their dirt bike on the common land Sad Sad so tired, it's bad enough it's too hot without that bloody racket.

cookielove · 14/06/2014 01:08

Hello, I got a feee advent bottle from a maternity shop in California I was very shocked!

My feet are so swollen!

HungryHorace · 14/06/2014 07:43

I get free vits too. Not because of my actual location, but the borough / metropolitan area I live in is deprived in some places, so I'm caught by catchment.

I tools Sainsbury's pregnancy ones til about 16 weeks then the free ones (I like to take zinc in early pregnancy).

That's good, cookie. Sorry your ankles are swollen though. :-/

Who has weekend plans then? I have none!

Working.... bleeeurgh Sad Sad

DulcetMoans · 14/06/2014 11:01

Well I learnt crochet last night so I'm off to buy the equipment to make a baby blanket! Just hoping I can remember what I learnt...!

Nessalina · 14/06/2014 11:19

I've slept in big time Confused Supposed to be a useful day! Going to Mothercare...

RPopz · 14/06/2014 12:41

Aaargh Dulce crochet is awesome!! Glad to have another crochet geek on board Grin After the first few rows you'll just do it without even thinking.

Everyone at work is really pissing me off today! On the verge of sending them all home... #grumpypregnantlady.

JuniDD · 14/06/2014 13:46

What you getting at Mothercare ness?? I had a quick ponder at prams last time I was in there and got freaked out!

Well, the scan was AOK and the sonographer was LOVELY and we got lots of pictures and we saw that everything is in working order. She didn't tell us the sex but I think it might be a girl. Call me a weirdo but she showed us the four valves of the heart which I loved. Smile.

Come home now though as this hayfever is kicking our arses so hiding indoors with some tennis. Sorry you're at work rpopz. If you're the boss can you go and hide somewhere? xx

wilhelmeaner · 14/06/2014 13:49

You learnt it in a night and now you can make a blanket Dulcet? Are you super talented or is it quite easy? I suppose my area is quite mixed, most places in Scotland are.

I was out this morning but now feel shit. Hoping to go into town when wee one wakes up.

wilhelmeaner · 14/06/2014 13:50

Sorry Juni, x-posted. That's fabulous news, so glad you had a good experience. I also have hayfever, does anyone have any tips of things we can actually take that help?

DulcetMoans · 14/06/2014 14:02

So pleased it was a good experience this time juni and you got the reassurance you needed. It is amazing to see things like the heart, knowing that's happening inside you!!

I'm by no means super talented wil, believe me! I struggled with the counting even! I am going to try start making, not saying I will get anywhere with it soon! I made a granny square yesterday, my theory is if I keep going with that it will become a blanket...!

wilhelmeaner · 14/06/2014 14:05

Ah I suppose it would. My gran taught me how to knit a little bit but I can't remember now. Why do you feel a bit unsure today Dulcet?

RPopz · 14/06/2014 14:13

Unsure about being pg? You're not POASing again are you Dulcey?

So pleased the scan went well.Juni and hopefully has erased the other silly one from your memories!!

Crochet is quite easy Wil - just takes practise. You could make a respectable scarf or blanket with just one stitch.

I'm the boss today so sent the buggers home! On my lonesome til 6pm now Grin

JuniDD · 14/06/2014 14:16

I'm taking Prevalin nose spray at the moment, wil. It says "safe for pregnant, breastfeeding women & athletes" so assuming there's basically nothing in it. Think it's a gel that coats your sinuses. I'm usually a two type of antihistamines, eye drops and steroid nosespray kinda gal so hoping I can cope for the rest of the summer. It's a shame going outside is so miserable!

I live on one of the two "posh" roads in one of the most deprived areas in the UK so that's probably a reason for the free vits. I used to work with my local councillor and casually complained about the dog poo. When I told him my road he was like "Chuh, you live down the posh end, whatevs!". Thanks, but we still get dog poo everywhere!!

Rambling away, MrJuni is working again and I've got no one to talk to...should phone my mum.

DulcetMoans · 14/06/2014 14:16

Just don't feel pregnant really. It gives me the worries and scan isn't until 11th July so finding out for sure if its all ok is a while away.

And, you know, never google!

wilhelmeaner · 14/06/2014 14:27

Ah you're probably just one of the lucky ones Dulcet who doesn't get many symptoms. Your scan is quite late, mine was supposed to be on the 10th only I couldn't make it. Why don't you call the midwife and have a chat to her if you're properly concerned? She might be able to get you in to listen for heartbeat or something?

Juni that's great, I haven't heard of that, will try to find some this afternoon. Last pg, my hayfever pretty much stopped but not so lucky this time round.

Doesn't that mean more work for you Rpopz?

RPopz · 14/06/2014 15:06

Google is the enemy!! Can't help feeling that pregnancy must have been more enjoyable prior to the internet!! I'm starting to worry about my scan now though, in case there's nothing in there! I guess its natural worry. You'll probably feel sick later and wish you hadn't said anything Wink

The morning's are the busiest Wil, once everything is set up its pretty manageable alone - weekends aren't that busy. Plus I can play on my phone and not feel guilty! Grin

wilhelmeaner · 14/06/2014 15:09

Wish you were my boss if you're prone to sending folk home early!

DulcetMoans · 14/06/2014 15:31

I have had symptoms wil, I think it's the change to not having them but creates the worry. But it's probably normal to have wobbles. And hopefully I will regret it in a day or so Wink

So crochet isn't going to plan already. I am following same pattern as yesterday but today it's a circle and yesterday was a square!

When do you finish popz? Will you get some fun in the sun?
