Just Shagging Grads Thread 9 - Roll Up, Roll Up all you graduated Viroids!

HungryHorace · 07/06/2014 21:41

Welcome to the 9th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed. :-)

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 24th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

For those not in the know, a viroid is an autocorrected version of 'ladies' from the 1st JS thread, which then stuck.

So, roll call below please, viroids. :-)

min you'll know this! the walk through metal detectors they use at airports! I know they're meant to be ok to walk through when gp! but are they ok if you're doing it every day? We have to go through one at work.

ZylaB · 28/06/2014 07:24

When pg not when gp

HungryHorace · 28/06/2014 07:26

Hi zyla. Welcome and congratulations. :-)

It sounds like pregnancy will be hard work for you, but the end result should hopefully make it all worthwhile.

I hope Dulcet is ok too. I just can't imagine how she's feeling after trying for so long. We started TTC at the same time in 2012. I really feel for her.

Ness, I think I've given up on baths now. Getting in and out is nigh on impossible. Never mind!

I spent almost all day and night on baby's cross stitch as I need to get it done before baby comes. It's difficult with DD around though. Fingers crossed it'll be completed soon!

Nessalina · 28/06/2014 07:46

Morning all. Dulcet's deleted message was a PM to one of the other ladies on the thread that she'd posted in the wrong place, nothing sinister!
I am truly gutted for her Sad I was saying to DH, it's ironic that we all started on this thread coz the big antenatal ones were scary, and our little group felt a lot safer somehow, but law of averages meant something may go wrong for one of us. And it hurts more when it's not just faceless strangers on a big thread.
But hey. Several of us have been through similar awfulness, and we've bounced back and got upduffed again, and pretty quickly too thank god, so I just really really hope that it's the same for Dulcet. Sad

Zyla - I know this! Well I think I do Smile DH just had a panic last might about me going through the scanner at the airport, and apparently it's fine, the radiation levels are virtually non existent. Buuuut I don't know about every day!

Lol. DH just rolled over in bed and said 'Can I get sausages please?!' Grin Sorry, what now?! He must be dreaming about food.

wilhelmeaner · 28/06/2014 07:58

omg just typed a massive response and lost it Angry

In short, I was marvelling at how crafty you all are (in the cross-stitch/crochet sense, not like a fox).

And also I don't think metal detectors are harmful as it's a pretty low level of radiation but I might be wrong. NHS site may say somewhere?

Feel like crap and have such a busy day that I could cry.

Minion · 28/06/2014 07:59

Ummmm, hard one I think. When I was flying our radiation levels were monitored as we not only went through scanners everyday but also flew at high altitudes (radiation is and up there), one of the reasons we ground ourselves actually. However is it X-ray you are going through or just a metal detector?
X-Ray will be more harmful but only if used loads and loads I would imagine, not sure about the detectors... Good Q tho'.

HungryHorace · 28/06/2014 08:25

Ness, I've no idea about radiation levels. It is a good question though (I wouldn't trust Dr Google on this one too as there's bound to be some hysteria around the topic).

Sorry you're feeling crap, Wil. I sympathise. While I feel fine, I'm just too fat and cumbersome to do much. :-/ It's frustrating.

I hope you feel better very soon.

I just read Dulcet's thread. She's being so strong. I really hope she conceives again soon.

I'm not sure what it is I go through, just metal detector, think I'll be seeing the health and safety guy at work next week as we have to tell them straight away cos they might change our place of work etc, so guess I'll ask him, bit worried about doing it every day. I have a SIL who's nearly a consultant obstetrician, dunno whether to ask her, but it's so early on...

ZylaB · 28/06/2014 08:35

Or is it gynaecologist? I dunno, to do with women and babies anyway!

HungryHorace · 28/06/2014 08:38

It'll be obstetrician if it's babies as well as women. Gynae just for women's issues. :-)

Morning.
sorry you're not feeling well today wil. xx

I can barely get in and out of the shower, so won't be attempting a bath, I don't think!

My pregnancy app says those metal detectors are fine (it's almost today's snippet of info strangely enough), but nothing about daily use.

Ooh, last night MrJuni put his head on the bump and reckons he can hear it "sloshing around". Hmm. Then he spent some time looking up baby names. I think it may be sinking in finally! Oh, and I picked up the carseat. Now to find somewhere to hide it....Wink

Hope you all have good days.

RPopz · 28/06/2014 11:29

Ah right, thanks Ness. My heart truly aches for her. I wish there was something I could do or say but there isn't.... so I keep saying how sad I am for her which isn't really that helpful and probably nothing in comparison to what she feels!

I work with radiation Zyla but its very low level so not an issue for pg. X rays are def not good but not sure how metal detectors work?? I'd definitely mention it to someone high up at work and get a risk assessment done. I told my managers long before anyone else, for the same reasons.

Sorry you're feeling so crappy Wil. How many weeks are you now??

I had some stretchy tummy pains in my "bump" last night Grin And a sneaky glass of red... Wine Blush

wilhelmeaner · 28/06/2014 12:20

Aargh I full on can't breathe! Sorry today is going to be a moany day. Don't actually know how far on I am Popz, I'm guessing maybe 11 weeks. I could work it out but can't be arsed right now.

Happy weekend Viroids!

HungryHorace · 28/06/2014 13:36

Your scan must be soon then, Wil?

A glass of red sounds lovely, RPopz. I've been drinking fizzy pink stuff this week. There's only 4.5 units in the bottle (I had it all over 3 nights!).

No more alcohol til at least tomorrow now, not that I'm a raging alcoholic!

I thought I'd done with those round ligament pains, RPopz. Until I sneezed this morning and got one. Ouchy! Preferable to the cervix scrabbling though, if I have to choose 1!

It was supposed to be in a week and a half Horace but we're on holiday then so it's been put back. Shame couldn't have had it before we went away really although that's assuming all is ok.

I'm so avoiding all the work I have to do by sneaking on mn. Need a kick up the arse.

RPopz · 28/06/2014 14:01

Whaaaat, that's gone so fast Wil! Grin I thought I was way more preggers than you haha. Hopefully you're getting near the end of the pukey feeling stage and then at least you'll just have hayfever to contend with.

The wine was lovely, felt a bit guilty but noone was judgey about it so all good Smile

RPopz · 28/06/2014 15:15

I feel sick and would like to blame pregnancy but it may have more to do the half a box of continental chocolates I just polished off.... (damn generous house guests! Grin )

ZylaB · 28/06/2014 15:21

Momma choccies sound lovely, I can't have any in cos I'd eat them all :)

cookielove · 28/06/2014 15:25

Ow ow ow ow, my bump really hurts! All stretchy and oweey! Not a happy bunny!

Here is my crochet hat I made for my first pregnancy, its more a dark blue with bright spots of colour picture wasn't taken in the best light!

Also got my 28 week growth scan on Monday which I completely forgot about so that was nice and we also got our letter confirming we can get the baby genetically tested after birth: whoop whoop!

wilhelmeaner · 28/06/2014 15:38

All sounds good cookie, apart from the owchy bump. Can't see picture because am on my phone but I am sure your crochet is wonderful Grin . I loved the handmade things people gave me for MiniWil.

Maybe it's not 11 weeks then Popz, think I'm about 2 weeks behind you. Due date is either 17th or 18th Jan but I suspect they'll make it later at the scan as I think I ov later in my cycle than cd14. Christ you can tell this isn't my pfb, I would have known my dates down to the minute last time. Certainly doesn't feel like it's gone fast anyway.

ZylaB · 28/06/2014 17:43

I had to have a nap. Weekends are lovely :D

Just got to decide if I'm going out with DH tonight or not, dunno if it'd be obvious though, as it's a drinking trip and I wouldn't even be having diet cokes!

RPopz · 28/06/2014 17:55

I napped too, in prep for my second night out in a row! Confused Must admit its a bit of a relief people know now!

You must be right then Wil - I'm 13+0 today.

wilhelmeaner · 28/06/2014 18:34

Can't you use the diabetes as a reason for not drinking Zyla?

JuniDD · 28/06/2014 23:07

Hope you've all had nice days and evenings out!

Am now angsting about asking a friend not to tag in my FB photos from a 'do today. That's not unreasonable is it? Or am I a twat? It's too late for me to make these sorts of decisions!

RPopz · 28/06/2014 23:16

Cos people will see you're pregnant you mean Juni? x
