Hello everyone. Have been really busy the last week and no time to post! Waiting for news from Emily too...hope everything is ok x

Antenatal care seems to be a bit of a shambles doesn't it? We had to wait 30 minutes for my scan on Tuesday and it was at 9.50am. How the hell do they get 30 minutes behind in 50 minutes?

We are having a duvet day today because DS was up at 5.30 vomiting. He wasn't even keeping water down earlier but I think he's a bit better now. DH has gone to his mother's - when we weekend visit he goes up on the Saturday and has a night out with his mates and then DS and I go on the Sunday and spend the day. Of course now DS and I won't be going, especially since MIL had some exploratory surgery under GA earlier this week related to her angina. Don't want to share our gems!

Hope everyone is now coming out of their morning sickness and starting to bloom!

Chinese I believe they have to prioritise emergencies, like in A&E. I was an hour late going into my scan and I saw two ladies coming in with paramedics in the time I was waiting :(

mopsytop · 21/06/2014 17:36

Chinese my scan was scheduled at 9am and wasn't seen until about 9.45. Unless they were late starting not sure how that could happen ...

CallingAllEngels · 21/06/2014 17:43

Keeping everything crossed for emily

poly I am still knackered. Had the TV on the whole day yesterday babysitting DS while I was collapsed on the sofa. I remember having loads of energy round the 4/5/6 months mark last time. When I 6m pg we went on holiday to the Lakes and I was striding round quicker than DH!

Hi Engels I was the same last time round, I wasn't as bad as this time in the first tri either but I was really looking forward to feeling better, getting things done and enjoying the summer with DS.

I felt so ill from exhaustion (I think) yesterday afternoon I had to abandon the school run, sit on a bench and wait for DH to pick us up in the car! I actually thought I was really ill but was so much better after a lie down, thank goodness.

I've just had a 2 hour nap, missed DS's bedtime and have now realised what an utter cow I have been all day. I need a holiday!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/06/2014 23:08

I desperately need a huge pregnancy pillow because I cannot get comfortable in bed :( recommendations please! I'm looking at the Dream Genii but it looks annoying and like it will flatten quickly.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/06/2014 23:09

Not to mention ridiculously expensive.

SassehMonsta · 22/06/2014 00:00

Stuck in Eusto station, trains delayed and its midnight. Uuurgh. Overtired and just want to go home and sleep. Ended up crying on my dads shoulder as Im so tired and emotional. Boo. :'(

Ladylel · 22/06/2014 00:05

SassehMonsta · 22/06/2014 00:06

Now on train and really need to pee but cant get up or Ill loose my seat. Over an hour home , then another 20+ mins home. And thats to my parents as its another 25mins to mine so Im staying there. Just want to cry.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/06/2014 07:03

Sasseh how miserable!! I hope you got home okay in the end. Poor you. I was so hot and uncomfortable last night, I didn't get to sleep until after midnight too. And of course, up at the crack of dawn because I have no alarm today. Great.

I had a horrid sex dream about one of my regular customers and I want to be sick. I was disgusted in the dream, too! Shudder.

CoddledAsAMommet · 22/06/2014 07:56

Had a rather dramatic day yesterday; I was talking to a friend and suddenly felt a 'pop' and felt blood running down my leg (TMI, sorry). We rushed to hospital and I felt ever so faint and, as usual, so tired I could barely breathe!
The bleeding slowed to spotting very quickly but my blood pressure was very low. The A and E doctor did an ultrasound and the baby's heartbeat was clearly visible. I just fell asleep on the bed in A and E, during the 45 minute ambulance drive to another hospital and for 2 hours there! All the doctors were wonderful and very reassuring.
It doesn't seem there's much they can do for low blood pressure other than drink a lot- I have been gasping constantly for the past couple of weeks- and resting with feet up. Sounds wonderful! The bleeding was put down to 'just one of those things.'
Seeing the Consultant tomorrow.

Coddled that sounds really scary :( drinking plenty is so important in this heat, but when you feel sick/tired it's so difficult to keep on top of. Hope you're feeling better soon

espa · 22/06/2014 08:41

peace I ordered a dream genii from JL yesterday. I'll let you know how it is. I didn't know what to go for but had £50 voucher from work and I like that it has back support too. Sleeping on side has become even more difficult for me this week and finding my back sore. I have a slipped disc and think side puts some pressure on it so hopefully it will help.

Sorry to everyone who's been having bad days. I was off work Thursday and Friday and still feeling rubbish yesterday although finally managed to eat a meal. Had a big greasy take away pizza (12") and ate all but one slice! Mmmm. Hoping I'm on the mend now as was miserable constantly being sick again - I can handle being tired but not sick constantly.

Not sure if I already mentioned but we announced to work, friends, everyone this week so it's nice now it's out in the open haven't had to worry about why I'm ill! Everyone very excited.:)

Its so lovely when you finally get to announce! Train journey took a turn for the worse - stopped at second station at Watford Junction and one of the doors wouldnt close. They tried to fix it for 30-45mins then moved us onto the platform (cue drunken singing from lots of men!) and we had to wait for trains to be.reshuffled. Finally got home about 2:30am - Zzzz! Managed to get a seat on both trains luckily as my mum & dad were keeping an eye out and saved me seats. Now just thinking about getting up and going home but feel like I've been hit by a bus.

Managed to reduce meds again, 1 lot on thursday, none on Fridaybut 2 yeterday as it was a long day in London.

PunkyPod · 22/06/2014 10:35

I've just bought the dream genii from kiddicare although I didn't get the full size one coz it just looked massive. I needed cushions all over the place when expecting DD so this should really help and I'll just put a normal pillow between my legs.

Your day sounds scary Coddled, I hope you can do more resting and drink enough. I'm reminding myself to drink plenty...

Sasseh, what a painful train journey. Hope you can have a break today.

We're potty training DD. She's only just 2yo, she's doing great but it's very labour intensive as we're just doing knickers. Really hoping she gets the hang of it quickly.

Bump's huge, was wiggling about like a fidget bum on Friday but quite quiet since. Went shopping yesterday and got myself 5 pairs of trousers! Comfort Grin

Any ideas when 1st timers will start to feel the baby move? I'm really impatient for it!

I bought a dream genii a few weeks ago (my friend had been going on about how good it was), I bought it for £23 from amazon (think they were price matching a offer at Boots - sorry, think it may have expired now though), I thought for that price it was worth a punt - so far have used it about 3 nights on and off (my bump is still fairly "compact"), and to try and help me not sleep on my back (it's soo hard not to do!).

My thoughts so far... I can see how it helps support the bump when I get a bit bigger and it's quite "comforting" how it wraps around your tummy and back, and I think to some extent does stop me moving so much in the night, but I have to say, so far I'm not totally convinced. I appreciate this may change with increasing size of bump...

oh, and for anyone that uses amazon (I know it's a personal preference thing), a useful website to know about is uk.camelcamelcamel.com/ you can look up how much items have cost on amazon over time, and you can also set price alerts so when an item reduces to that price, you get an email.

Hope it helps someone!

Shouldnt have bothered with breakfast, should have just served it into the toilet. If I had known it wasnt going to stay down more than 5 mins I wouldnt have made beans on toast and would have just had cold soup!

PunkyPod · 22/06/2014 14:34

Betty, I felt the tiniest "pops" with dd when I was 15-16 weeks. That's very early though first time. I think the norm is to feel things around 19-24 weeks. So impatient, yes, but don't worry :) Before you know it that tinker will be jamming an elbow in your ribs and leaving it there! Wink

ChineseFireball · 22/06/2014 16:46

With DS I didn't feel movement until 21 weeks-ish, but that might have been because I didn't recognise it. It varies from person to person and also depends on where your placenta is. With an anterior placenta you might not feel much until later.

Pillows - I had one from Mothercare which was £20 but I think it was on a half price offer. It's not curved like the dreamgenii, just straight with a head bit, an under bump bit and a between knees bit. I found it fine but I usually sleep on my side so didn't feel I needed any back support. Don't know whether that is helpful?

Have been doing housework today and am now vegging on the sofa before cooking dinner. We are having posh fish and chips - lightly dusted pollock fillets with lemon and basil, chips (crinkle cut) and assorted stir fried veg (tenderstem broccoli, baby carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, peppers, green beans, courgettes and mini leeks). Awesome sauce. Can't wait. Grin

Chinese sounds much healthier than my dinners of late! DH is making lasagne tonight though. Feeling much better today but still lightheaded/headachey so not managed much. I have completed a Tesco online shop though which has even been beyond me recently! Hope I'm okay to go back to work tomorrow but suspect I'll be wiped by the afternoon.

Ladylel · 22/06/2014 17:29

Bettycakes, I'm 17 weeks on Tuesday and as of maybe Thursday just gone I've been getting ever so tiny fluttery feelings. It is first babies and twins so likely to feel something soonish but it's not very often unless I've been confusing it for wind this whole time !
Most nights I feel something tho. Tis a nice feeling although have been warned once they turn into the proper kicks it's less pleasant. :/

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/06/2014 17:40

Well my dad came down and took us out for lunch today and bought me a Dream Genii from Mothercare! Shock Will report back tonight!
