Today's midwife appointment has been cancelled as someone is in labour. I have a feeling this is going to happen every time. I know it's unavoidable but it's quite annoying.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/06/2014 12:56

Oh Pourquois how annoying :( hope it gets rebooked soon enough.

Managed to catch a glance at the front page of a newspaper in the coffee shop this morning and saw Prince George in pink dungarees. Tres cute, and very similar to a pair I lived in as a toddler!

I'm really tempted to buy myself something baby-related today.

Ladylel · 16/06/2014 13:31

Thought I had midwife today which I thought was strange being a Monday. Turns out when I booked my 16 week appt it fell week commencing 16th so receptionist repeatedly told me my appt was 16th June (today) so when I turns up and be told nope no midwives on Monday, only Tuesdays and Thursdays that it clicked the dopey receptionist was only focused on the number 16 and omitted to correct herself it was Thursday 19th! Waste of my morning. And a pee pot that I struggled to fill half way; round 2 on Thursday then.

I also finally read my notes properly from the scan and found out my twins are dcda which means completely seperate and not identical also with seperate placentas. But after reading further and doing a bit of Dr Googling found that one of the placentas is sitting at the front I my uterus (not low lying thank god) which may be why when I brought angel sounds we struggled to find hbs ourselves. Also in laymens terms said one was hiding behind the other. After more googling found out it's not unusual but not usual and most placentas move up (fingers crossed)

Also been having a strange ache. Not a pain, not a cramp it may be wind but it's my right side just above my pube line and it's been ongoing for the last few days. Apart from the 'ache' it's just uncomfortable sometimes so was relying in seeing midwife to give me some peace of mind! Gah

ChineseFireball · 16/06/2014 13:45

Hello Lotsa and Keloids and congratulations!

I don't want to find out what sex our baby is before it's born...and don't yet have any feeling one way or the other. Last time we were on team yellow but from about 22 weeks I really felt we were having a boy, and we did. My MS has been different this time - more nausea and less actual vomiting so maybe this one is a pink one?

12 week scan tomorrow. I'm bricking it.

Glad to hear people are starting to feel better. Still very tired here and ouchy boobs although the sickness seems to be easing off (hope I've not jinxed it now!).

Off to collect some maternity clothes I've ordered from Next and then I must crack on with some work. Working from home today and I'm not sure how good an idea it was!

Hey everyone, Been a bit AWOL the last few days, things have been so busy at home.

Huge congratulations on all these lovely scan pics Im seeing, theyre so cute! And to ImBrian for your first baby boy. DH is hoping for a boy and secretly Id favour is ever so slightly, but overall his and my families produce girls. So were expecting it to be a girl. We didnt find out with DD but we will with this one.

I had my 16 week appointment at the weekend. Turns out as well as the Strep B I also have higher than normal platelet count. The MW said they dont want my blood to be too sticky so at about 27 weeks Ill have new bloods taken and retested. If the result is still high then Ill need to go on daily blood thinning injections for much of the rest of the pregnancy. DH will have to give them to me. He did my jabs after DD was born so knows what to expect. But regardless, its still a bit nasty Im also in debates about what kind of birth to have. I didnt know this, but because of the 3rd degree tear last time and episiotomy I may be eligible for ELCS. Its not something Id considered and Im not sure I even want it. But it will be discussed when I see the consultant in August. Im just so scared and I know I need to agree on a birth plan which is the least scary. Just right now, Im terrified. Baby was doing a merry jig when they listened in to the heartbeat. One minute it was low down and the next it had scampered up to my belly button! I could feel it going round and the midwife was trying to trap it with the Doppler. Love to think of it giving her the run around! My bump is seriously gigantic, even the MW made the joke about twins

Erm, dignityhow about thisIve not told anyone but at the weekend I was in town and absolutely desperate for the toilet. I had to get back to collect my DD and was already running late. Walking back to the car I realised there was no way Id be able to hold it in and actually I needed to go RIGHT NOW. I was almost trapped because I didnt even think I could make it back down the highstreet to the supermarket loos. So, yeh, I snuck down a little alley, shielded by trees and dropped my knickers and did a wee. Seriously embarrassed about it but the relief far outweighed the shame! Blush

Hi Chinese.

Luckily I've still got all of my maternity clothes from last year, my only problem was that I DS was born 3rd September so I was huge in the summer, this time, I'll be huge in the winter, and most of my maternity clothes are work clothes but I'm obviously not going back to work now.

I'm still feeling crap too but DS doesn't let me dwell on it although he still has 2 naps in the morning so I can nap then if I don't have anything planned

Ladylel · 16/06/2014 14:39

What's with all the stupid numbers in my post!! Am now checking it on the app and it makes so sense with all that in there!

LotsaTuddles · 16/06/2014 15:31

It does Punky, I just assumed they were apostrophes so replaced each square with an apostrophe in my head (difficult to do as tired as I am and watching DS try to eat the sofa Hmm)

SassehMonsta · 16/06/2014 15:43

Sometimes it doesn't like punctuation!!

Boobs ache, and leak when massaged. feeling sick again booo!

Mw appt today, for bloods, but not my midwife, a locum who I liked a lot better! Now trying to eat lots of jelly as I just really want to tbh. (almost had a pint so far!)

got a rash up my arms, across my chest and the top of my back, and up my neck and ears. Annoying me, but mw said nothing much to worry about, if its doesn't go down in a few days to go to the GP.

Also not finding out gender, but pretty sure Im having a girl. No idea why - but bright colours and neutrals all round either way.

Welcome all new people xx

Well thanks very much Ladylel and Whats. I went straight to Sainsburys after work and bought a pot of green olives, which I intend to inhale.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 16/06/2014 18:31

Oh god I want Olives now.

Chinese you bitch.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/06/2014 19:18

I'm supposed to be making steak stir fry for DH but Chinese sounds like a much better idea. Chinese and olives.

LotsaTuddles · 16/06/2014 19:34

We had roast pork was yummy, am jealous of the Chinese though, not the olives.

Emily, I'm in Repton Park

Shanels · 16/06/2014 19:51

Hi guys
Can I ask for some advice? Last night and just night, I have started feeling a bit cold and then in 5 mins I've gone from a but cold to shivering and shaking like a leaf as if I'm freezing. I'm not sweating and it's not that cold at the mo. It is freakish me out though. I suffer from low blood pressure, fast heart and have had lots of discharge since early days which isn't smelly. Had uti test a few weeks back and all was okay. Any idea? Could it be low blood pressure? Or I was worried about aminiotic infection?

Have been away this weekend in the UK. Back in NL now so just catching up on the thread. Love hearing all your stories..you're making me laugh and feel a little more normal!

I am currently chomping my way through a big Toblerone, a bowl of chilli heatwave doritos and a alcohol free white beer. Aah!

My 1st trimester has been so different to last time chinese I am convinced it'll be a girl this time, though DH's family is full of boys. DH would like another boy I think but I want some more oestrogen in this house! We're not finding out the sex either, but MIL is convinced we'll find out and then keep it secret!

punky I had a sinking moment yesterday on the way to the playground with ds and was looking around for a tree but luckily didn't need it!

Good luck to all the scans coming up this week.
