I'm looking forward to and dreading telling one of my best friends because I can see her being a bit like this (hers are 6 and 3, and a handful)

Still, that's Monday's problem; my last prescan weekend starts here!

Viperama · 13/06/2014 22:42

Attempting poo dance for the cause.

Glad your appointment went well Poly what a wonderful relief for you.

So I had a boccacinni salad for elevenses, a tuna jacket for lunch, and homemade BBQ chicken breast kebab with pepper and humus for dinner. Im totally off junk now, DP out to get Friday night treats and I just want water and summer fruits cordial. Weirdo!

House guests left so I can finally flop on the couch when I get home nightly and stop hiding my pregnancy tablets, ginger chunks etc.

My boobs are only starting to get sore on the edges but nothing to write about, when did you all reach your peak sore boobness?

Knottyknitter · 13/06/2014 22:46

Peak boob ache arrived about 3 days before they started to take over the world. Not sure now where preggo boob ache ends and grown out of another bra ache starts!

Knottyknitter · 13/06/2014 22:47

That was about week 7-8

Viperama · 14/06/2014 00:15

Thanks Knotty so at 5 weeks I've that all in front of me, no pun intended hah.

RetroHippy · 14/06/2014 01:36

I'm quite excited about week 8... All these things that people keep saying will happen. Vomiting, constipation/bumsick, exhaustion, tears without warning, cravings for feta cheese (I do love feta), massive knockers... (and I thought they were already big!)

So far I have: slightly larger than usual norks (they are painful though, I keep poking them to reassure myself I am actually pregnant), a sense of injustice that can last for days, a compulsion to eat mini magnum ice-creams and an occasional tendency to nap in the afternoons. Though tonight I'm apparently wide awake.

8 weeks Monday. Bring it on!!!

barmybunting · 14/06/2014 07:19

Spotti, that sounds like a perfect way to tell your Dad as well! What an amazing birthday present it will be for him Smile. Your baby is choosing lovely timing, clever babyspotti! DH and I have decided ours is a birthday show off, the 12 week scan was on DH's 30th birthday last month. We worked out tonight that the 20 week scan is on DCats 3rd birthday at the end of June Smile. (I realise this is daft, but DCat is king of our house and spoilt rotten so we found this very funny!)

Please let us know about your DHs reaction on Sunday!

These baby dragons love a bit of good food! My current fascination is savoury popcorn with aromat (a South African spice) on it. It's heavenly! I also this this baby may well look like an apple when he or she arrives, because I am obsessed with them in any form these days.

As for the person who said the baby would have nothing to do with your appetite at 5 weeks, that is a load of nonsense! I think every one of us has found weird changes in our eating habits from very soon after a BFP, and we are the dragon bus mums, so we know what we are talking about! We can just breath fire at anyone who disagrees!

Amazing news about your eyes Poly! What a relief for you. Long May that continue.

I was a bit cross at work yesterday, there is someone else there due 10 days before me. A silly colleague found us standing together and looked is both up and down, asked how far along we were then made both of us feel rubbish by telling her she was big already (she is 20 weeks) and me that I didn't look pregnant yet (I am 18+2), where was my bump? Silly woman! My lovely pregnant colleague does not look huge, she is shorter than I am and carrying out in front so has much more of a bump than I do and looks great for it! And I do so have a bump, albeit a small one so far, but I am proud of it!

Zermatt · 14/06/2014 08:05

Wow, miss one day and have 5 pages to catch up on, live you chatty ladies :)

So sorry to hear about your granddad frenetic it's so sad to lose them, hope you've had a good cry and lots of hugs. Treasure the memories. Also sorry that your scan left you with more uncertainty, it's good they'll be keeping an eye on you and checking again soon, it's a cliche and an annoying thing to be told as it's easier said than done but relax as much as possible and take it 100% easy. xx

Congrats on your BFP's hanflan and spotti* glad you finally get to use that saved seat :)

And really pleased your scans went well broody and viper

Mine was good, baby low risk and healthy, really relieved and chuffed, due date 26 dec

Spotti · 14/06/2014 08:41

Awwww, bless BabyBarmy! I hope your cat doesn't get too jealous that he'll have to share his birthday with another important event!

I just hope BabySpotti (well, SpottiBean at the moment) follows the rules and sticks around!

Zermatt · 14/06/2014 09:01

Still catching up.....

Yay for you and your eyes poly what a relief for you all, you can sit back and relax and enjoy it more now, it must be a weight off your mind!

Retro and Barmy those kind of unwelcome observations would wind me right up, am dreading all the know it all and conflicting advice not to mention obsession with changing body shape from people at work and strangers. People should keep their opinions to themselves sometimes, all pregnancies and bodies are different and will therefore go through different things at different stages. There's no rule book on it. Numnuts.

fancy I have lit a candle at the turd altar in your honour hope that you get unblocked v soon :(

Spotti · 14/06/2014 09:41

Zermatt - turd altar? Ha ah ha!

But speaking of poos...did the poo dance work fancy? (It absolutely peed it down here, thunder and lightening and everything, shortly after I did the dance so maybe I got mixed up and did a rain dance instead? Confused)

fancyacupoftea · 14/06/2014 10:10

I have lit a candle at the turd altar in your honour

NOTHING should be that funny on a Saturday morning. Howling.

I feel like something is having a move about in there (bowel, not baby, obvs) and I took a senokot last night but had a sit down earlier and nothing. Going to resort to having a coffee (I gave up smoking years ago but this definitely would have been a coffee and cigarette moment) so turds crossed that all goes 'smoothly'.

Retro I would be so annoyed at someone telling me the gnawing hunger I've had is nothing to do with preggo. That was definitely one of the first proper symptoms I had. Embrace the gnawing hunger!

Right I'm off to make the coffee.

fancyacupoftea · 14/06/2014 10:10

Oh and congrats on your scan Zermatt!!

htbftm · 14/06/2014 10:35

great news on your eyes poly! that must be such a relief! I agree knotty, sore boobs really started at about 8 weeks. don't remember it being that sore in previous pregnancies. someone said about gravity kicking in, which has been so true- getting up out of bed causes the strangest sensation which really hurts and makes me holds them! week 14 now, and they definitely aren't as tender now. can't wait for all the colleague input (not) as I got outed at school yesterday! not sure if its really obvious or if someone close blabbed, but I guess it was always going to come out sooner rather than later!
had my downs results this morning, they say it's not high risk 1 in 180. I don't mean to sound selfish, but I had hoped the numbers would b higher Envy also was woken by a call from the surgery to say I have a water infection and need to pick up a prescription- bonus way to start the weekend lol!

fancyacupoftea · 14/06/2014 10:58

I just want to thank everyone for all the poo dances/candle lighting/goat sacrificing. I'm so happy that I'm dancing around the house and rubbing my now-almost-flat-ish-again belly.

I expect in a few days though I'll be asking for the dances again.

htb don't focus on the numbers, just focus on the 'not high risk' part. Hope the water infection clears up! How did you get outed? Were you mad?

htbftm · 14/06/2014 11:09

lol, glad you're feeling better fancy! I know I should b grateful! I'm not sure how I was outed Tbh. 3 people spoke to me yesterday: the first, the biggest school gossip knocked on my office door and said 'a little bird told me...' then one of the very few that have been in the know said someone else had asked them if I was expecting, then the lady serving dinner asked me to turn sideways and just looked at me! some days I do look more like 8 months than , so I suppose it's not that surprising!

fancyacupoftea · 14/06/2014 11:36

How far along are you now officially?

I'm the school gossip so when my news spreads like wildfire I deserve it.

htbftm · 14/06/2014 11:49

lol, I'm 14+3. I meant to say I look more like 8 months than 3! how about you fancy? is it still a secret?

fancyacupoftea · 14/06/2014 12:10

I'm 10+5 and it's a secret in that no teachers know but I've had to tell most of SMT because of timetabling stuff for next year. I think people have started to suspect (they've misinterpreted my constipation bloat) as I got an email from a colleague asking if I knew if anyone else was pregnant as 2 others are and patterns suggest it always goes in threes. Pretty sure she was testing my reaction rather than genuinely wondering about anyone else but it is weird to know that there's truth in the 3s rule!

As soon as I have my scan on Thursday (even if it is just 11+3) I'm telling people as I'm so tired of lying.

lindamagoo · 14/06/2014 12:39

I'm feeling a bit paranoid today! No symptoms other than sore boobs, I can get my jeans fastened which I haven't been able to do for a while and I just generally don't feel pregnant Hmm Wish I could just relax and stop worrying

9 + 6

htbftm · 14/06/2014 12:44

people aren't very subtle are they lol! I hadn't really thought about when or how to tell people Tbh I've told those that really matter!

htbftm · 14/06/2014 12:44

Starbright24 · 14/06/2014 13:16

fancy my scan too on Thursday. Smt know but am having to lie this week as being moved year groups and people will want to know why. Oh no...my mistake. I'm aweek on Thursday. Damn longer to wait.
Boobs also hurt worse getting out of bed in the morningbut don't notice the rest of the time.
Not been about for a while..seem to be too tired to do anything apart from eat...and eat...hmm..must be lunch time.

PolytheneGirl · 14/06/2014 13:18

Linda don't worry! I had the same none pregnant feeling at 9wks. All my symptoms disappeared for a few days but by 10 wks they were back. Just enjoy the break!

Congrats on your poop Fancy. I'm so proud of you!
