Yay, welcome and congrats mrshjb and bellaboo

Of course it's ok to add your stats :) love that the bus is filling up. What's your EDD's?

Also and more importantly, what are your thoughts on cheese, marmite and cake?

sammyj85 · 07/06/2014 10:57

Added myself too if that's ok :-)

lindamagoo · 07/06/2014 11:04

Ok so today I feel like a total traitor to the cheese, marmite and cake as I can't stand the thought of any of them, today's food of choice seems to be pieces on cucumber and lettuce, healthier I guess but not happy as I really wanted to eat ALL of my nieces birthday cake, lol

Knottyknitter · 07/06/2014 11:13

Linda chicken pokes all need to have crusted over to stop being infectious. Once they have you're fine although still spotty. Hope that doesn't screw up your plans.

Hello and welcome to all the newbies too. Congratulations all!

We went to the pub with DP's mates last night and I think I may have been rumbled (even though d didn't say anything, he has a 2yo dd and knows me too well to think I'd stay on mixed drinks - oj&lemonade, lime&soda - although I said they had vodka in -all night! ) never mind, will tell them in just over a week and a half.

Knottyknitter · 07/06/2014 11:14

Poxes! Don't poke them whatever you do!

freneticfox · 07/06/2014 11:25

Morning all! What a rough night! Didn't get to sleep until about 4am then woken up by thundering rain about an hour or so later. Thought for sure I was going to be puking (nausea was awful) but it went as quickly as it came in waves.

Am I being wishful in thinking that's as bad as it gets at 5w?! ;)

mrshjb · 07/06/2014 11:30

Thanks for the welcome :) edd 28th January.

Love cheese, cant get enough at the minute, I alway have an emergency babybel in my bag. Always loved cake, especially chocolate. Never had marmite so can't comment....!

lindamagoo · 07/06/2014 11:42

Haha Knotty that made me lol, I'll make sure nobody pokes the pox if they catch them Smile

MademoiselleG · 07/06/2014 11:55

Ooooooh lots of new bfps, how very exciting!! Welcome everyone and congratulations! Join the ride, get comfy and be prepared to talk about food ALL.THE.TIME. Knitting has quite an important place too, as does symptom sharing.

So I got exactly what I wanted for my birthday: an amazing leather jacket from All saints! My not so subtle hints totally worked!

I'll PM you the place fancy , I'm so paranoid about outing myself!

Eeek I'm excited GrinGrin

fancyacupoftea · 07/06/2014 12:36

Along with the pm can you post me the leather jacket? SO JEALOUS!!! I want one soooo much.

broodysnoopstie · 07/06/2014 12:51

new BFPS very exciting Grin Congratulations and welcome Grin Grin

Is anyone elses nausea really not being helped by a superhero strength sense of smell? I can smell everything!!

hanflan · 07/06/2014 13:40

Hi guys! Mind if I join you? Got my BFP yesterday. Eeeep!
Beautiful scan pic poly :)

MademoiselleG · 07/06/2014 13:50

I can smell which shower gel dh used this morning and he's sitting 1 metre away. Bloody nightmare! Well...shower gel isn't so bad actually, if only everyone in public transport used it too...

Sitting next to a lovely family with twins. Somehow they make it look so easy?!

Starbright24 · 07/06/2014 14:24

I washed my hair with different stuff this morning. It's all I can smell now and definitely not helping the nausea.
Welcome all new bfps Grin

freneticfox · 07/06/2014 14:38

Added my stats :)

We just went for a wander around Kiddicare and we're now sufficiently freaked out±

CallingAllEngels · 07/06/2014 14:42

I think I freaked one of my students out by commenting on her shampoo the other day mademoiselle - it was lovely! But I think she thought it was a bit weird coming froma teacher!

Am stocking up on nice cereal as it's the only thing I want in the morning (milk craving!) and have just been munching crisps. Bought some old Dutch cheese for tonight (lovey and strong) especially to make up for the awful food at the prom last night since most of it was not suitable for pg ladies (I mostly ate salad while trying to hide it from all the students who don't know I'm pg).

mrsh I have been chomping through babybels at a ridiculous rate - they don't last long in this house!

Big welcome to everyone who's joined over the last few days.
poly your scan pic is so clear! Ours is very like a blurry blob, though DH took a video of the screen which was great.

fancyacupoftea · 07/06/2014 15:04

Speaking of kiddicare, has anyone dared to buy anything yet? Clothes/toys/furniture etc?

htbftm · 07/06/2014 16:21

welcome to hanflan and mrsh and big congrats on the bfps! sooo exciting!! Grin

MademoiselleG · 07/06/2014 16:33

Not bought anything for our bean yet but definitely using every single friends' birth as an excuse to buy LOADS! I want new gear for eeeeeverything! Might sell our pram on eBay and get a new (2nd hand) one...just because!

Knottyknitter · 07/06/2014 17:58

I've bought

Maternity work trousers
Maternity jeans
2 mat wrap tops
Maternity tankini
2 lots of new bras (seem to be expanding in increments)
Mum and me bump cream (offer in boots and smells nice, no effect so far)

Fathers' day card from the bump for DP next week
1 sample tots bots nappy to investigate how they work

Too much too soon?

MademoiselleG · 07/06/2014 18:05

Nope knotty, sounds about right Wink

No wool for bean-projects?

CallingAllEngels · 07/06/2014 18:11

I haven't bought anything except 2 pairs of non-maternity jeans which fit nicely now. Need new swimming bottoms, have a good maternity tankini top that fits. And a floppy hat for outside so I don't get pigmentation on my face.

going to pick up some cocoa butter from body shop for my belly. Last time I used bio oil which was okay but would like something creamier.

We won't have to buy much for LO as have so much from DS though may have to invest in a chest of draws for DS since his will be for the baby (we use the top as a change table).

Lots of decluttering needed though as the room for dc2 is currently filled with crap belonging to dh stuff

Knottyknitter · 07/06/2014 18:12

Not specifically, the yarn stash has been out of control for years! It now takes 6 ikea plastic tubs about 30cm cubes each....

Have dug around to grab some white dk and some hand dyed sock yarn for baby cardies - well begun now, and am debating dusting off the spinning wheel to make something special, just struggling to decide what! For handspun I really need the whole plan before I start or I get into a mess (Again the spinning stash is a little overrun, so unlikely to buy anything there either)

I did buy some embroidery needles and aida today now I think about it (plan is Winnie the Pooh alphabet sampler)

I may need to rethink working to 37 weeks, just to make time for all the crafting!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 07/06/2014 18:13

Welcome and congrats Bella and MrsH!! Smile

I'm too superstitious to buy any anything yet. Although we have a very cute pair of baby Nikes upstairs that DH got all excited about last time. He's a trainer collector so if this bean is a boy I expect him to have evry possible pair Nike do!

Don't think I'll be buying anything until 20 weeks!

fancyacupoftea · 07/06/2014 18:26

Oh forgot about stuff like that! I got new non-mat trousers and tops for work just to cover bloat/belly, Palmers stretch mark cocoa butter cream (well cheap!) and all the yarn for the blanket. And 2 parenting books. And a book of knitting patterns for baby stuff. Also 2 non-wired bras.
