Random other stuff - have just discovered work have been paying me maternity pay and SMP for the last three months (which I hadn't noticed as the net pay is the same) and I've not even given them my matb1 yet! How they've managed that is anyone's guess!

fifi669 · 10/06/2014 03:03

I thought from your last post you were still working?

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 10/06/2014 04:30

well I unsuccessfully went to bed as was really tired and amazingly fell asleep. 'D'H woke me after half an hour because I was snoring. Idiot. Anyhow after half an hour of being awake he went to the loo and when he came back I decided he smelt so am back downstairs watching a recording of midsomer murders.

My mum will deal with him in the morning but it will be ok to string him up by the balls and feed him to the squirrels won't it??

So annoyed. Today will be stressful and probably painful enough without being knackered too. Angry

mixi82 · 10/06/2014 05:08

Haha liquid in the nicest possible way of course! Bit inconsiderate of him considering he's prob had a whole night of sleep. I prob would've booted mine out the bed and told him to go downstairs. Just would love them to have a little taste of what we go through, I guarantee they wouldn't hack it!

icklekid · 10/06/2014 06:20

pplate I'm the same worrying about twinges and especially reduced movement at work...

lliqiidliquid I would have been so cross!

Jusy Just had my once a week good night's sleep so feel amazing. ..bbut know won't get another one for a week min! Only 8 more get ups for work now I'm up and after a painful day yesterday hoping for a nicer one today! Painful boring /ffrustrating/ adminy rathet rather than literally should add!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 10/06/2014 06:23

liquid No jury in the land would convict you. I can't believe that!

I'm finding it hard enough to sleep as it is - but this heat is making it terrible. Tossed and turned for hours. :(

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 10/06/2014 06:31

DH has just said "oh well, at least you'll get lots of sleep when the baby's here". Ho ho. I'm not amused.

Plateofcrumbs · 10/06/2014 06:56

fifi I am still working, hence bafflement that work decided to start paying me mat pay 3 months ago Confused - this might be interesting to resolve! I only noticed because I got my team accounts and wondered why my salary has disappeared.

JasmineLondon · 10/06/2014 07:17

museum sorry to hear about your scan, that sounds really stressful. I had a scan two weeks ago that was troubling as they saw from one angle baby's brain ventricle was enlarged, but couldn't measure from another angle to be sure. They tried to move baby's head from the outside, painful and no joy in getting the measurement. My MW was great and told me a lot can come up on the scans which turns out to be inconsequential ... Hope that's the case for you, let us know how it goes.

liquid wahoo possible mucous plug! Tres Exciting.

Gosh last night was murder trying to get to sleep with the heat. Brief hosp visit today for whooping cough vaccine. Gonna try to swing by Primark to buy flip flops for DH for hospital bag - he hates sandals and always wears socks and trainers but I reckon if labour room is hot like last night he will be glad of flip flops! Ah, caring wife ... / controlling wife Smile

MrsA2 · 10/06/2014 07:24

Plate how odd about your work pay, at least you know now that it has happened and so can hassle them before you finish. Hope it gets sorted.

Liquid HOW infuriating! Make sure he is well aware today how little you are sleeping currently and he best make that back up to you by being the best ever husband today.

Hooray for a good night for Ickle at least. Mine was ok, awake every hour and up every second hour for a wee plus had a three hour stint in the middle where I couldn't sleep at all, but I did get some decent hour blocks at the start so can't complain.

Beautiful sunny day here this morning. Can't decide if I want it to continue into mat leave or whether I'll just be hot and miserable if it does. Normally I love summer.

37 weeks for me today so officially full term. I have no doubt I have weeks to go yet however - and need to make it until Friday when I finish work and then Tuesday when I get my hair cut anyway!

BlueC2 · 10/06/2014 07:58

So it would seem that v few of us can sleep at the moment-there is at least some comfort in numbers and not being alone in this!

My lower back has totally seized this morning- hoping that once I get up and moving it will be ok. And have no idea what to wear today to try and stay cool!

MrsA2 · 10/06/2014 08:07

Blue I've literally just been through the last stragglers of my maternity wardrobe desperately trying to find something cool but acceptable for a fairly smart office. Not fun!

Plateofcrumbs · 10/06/2014 08:21

I was thinking I'd totally overdone it on maternity clothes but very glad this week of having a few summery dresses. Office is boiling not helped by psycho colleague who goes nuts if anyone tries to turn on the aircon.

Sorry everyone has been suffering with poor sleep and worries, but like blue says, nice to know we are not alone!

fifi669 · 10/06/2014 08:29

Ug. Got to sleep some time after 3. DS woke at 5.30. Convinced him although it was light it was still sleep time but I had to lay with him. 30 minutes of pointless questions later and sleep.... Wakes again at 7.20.

Grumpy me is now about to drop him to nursery, hopefully in time for breakfast, after which I'll hopefully pass out.

mixi82 · 10/06/2014 09:11

So annoyed this morning!! Radiator in the room I'm staying in at my mums comes on when you turn hot water only on. So not only is it boiling outside, it's the extreme inside! Can't open window in room either and a fan only blows the warm air around. Definitely doesn't help me sleep or with my OC.

Mum doesn't have any tools in the house to fit the valve so I can turn the radiator off completely and the radiator is beside the bed so I've had to dismantle some of the bed to get to it! GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Flustered in the heat so decided to go out for a drive, at least my car has air con!

ismarah · 10/06/2014 09:11

I shouldn't really say this but I had a long nap yesterday ans still slept pretty well in the night... #evilgrin

Ipsumlorem · 10/06/2014 09:26

Morning!! Grin

Sorry for those still suffering with sleep/sickness/OC - I am firmly back in the throwing my guts up camp every day til lunchtime Sad However I'm trying not to let it get me down too much at this stage (am 35 +3 today).

Maternity leave started yesterday and after crying literally all day Sunday at EVERYTHING I have managed a couple of better nights sleep and a 2 hour nap yesterday - obviously really needed it!!! Smile That was the first real sleep Ive had in weeks. Dh suggested id been so stressed with work that knowing im off now is helping - he is probably right.

Think bump has dropped a bit - every time I walk anywhere I feel like Im going to wet myself Blush Ive also been having the jelly like discharge for the last couple of weeks - no blood in it though so not too worried yet Smile

Dh is on annual leave end of the week and after a mammoth row at the weekend queue more crying from me we are going to spend a few days whipping the half finished nursery and rest of the house into shape!

I know he is busy with work atm and is trying to save up leave for when baby arrives but I was cross because he genuinely seems to think babies arrive only when scheduled and doesnt therefore get my need to have everything done/got now! I know he is beyond excited about baby being here but I reckon theres still a bit of denial creeping in in the form of 'oh theres still a month to go so its fine'.

fifi669 · 10/06/2014 09:54

ismarah Envy

Anyone else got odd stretch marks? With DS and countless years of weight loss gain I already had a wad of them although they're silver. I seem to have developed some purple numbers.... But just on one side

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 10/06/2014 10:19

I have purple stretch marks which are on the inside of both legs. They go red when I have a bath. Other than that my bump is mark free and no weird brown lines, although the fair hairs stand on end.

Managed to sleep from 7am to 9.20 in the end as DH went out, he is being very apologetic but am still annoyed. My mum has not had a go at him, we decided to tell his mum instead. Grin Far worse for him!

Bump turning at 2pm so its water only for me now, just had breakfast and am still hungry.

BlueC2 · 10/06/2014 11:00

ips totally with you on the bladder thing! no matter how many times I go to wee I feel desperate to wee the whole time...am convinced baby has dropped it's head right into my bladder!

mrsa I remember the pain of sweltering offices, mat clothes and trying to look smart from last time. Thankfully I'm just at home today so it doesn't really matter what I look like. Hope you found something to wear.

liquid thinking of you for this afternoon... And hoping it works and baby then stays put for you!! Sorry about DH last night, I told my DH who said 'never mess with a pregnant woman who has managed to fall asleep' :) I think telling his DM is a great plan as she can give him hell over it!

fifi I have a few of the nice purple ones too... On thighs and a few odd ones on bump. Will be interested to see what happens after birth and whether they fade or not.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 10/06/2014 11:08

Good morning! First proper day of maternity leave for me (yesterday was a bank holiday here so it doesn't count since DS and DH were home)! Grin

I hope all of you who are suffering with whatever pregnancy is throwing at you start feeling better (or get some sleep!).

Plate, I'm with you on needing the summary maternity clothes. I splashed out a few weeks ago on a couple of skirts.

The temperature here (south of France) hasn't dropping below about 18degC at night over the last couple of days. Current struggle is deciding whether to wear the compression stockings or not in the heat to keep control of the ankle swelling.

ComeBabyCome that is an impressive list for a home birth!

museum I've no expert advice to give on what your last scan might mean but at least you have another scan planned and a GTT. Although could they do the GTT or at least a simple first thing in the morning fasting blood test a bit sooner than next week? Try not to stress too much about it.

liquid hope it goes OK for you this afternoon.

I'm now 37 weeks. I had a home visit from a midwife this morning to talk about my anxiety for this birth following the problems last time and lack of birth options for VBAC. She's going to get my notes from the hospital for the last birth to go through them with me next week to talk me through what happened. Now it's getting towards the end of term I'm starting to feel quite paranoid about lack of movements starting like I had last time...

Must start packing hospital bag! Smile

AuntieMaggie · 10/06/2014 11:47

Writing this in between trying to find DP flights to france as his mother has been taken seriously ill... he's so broken and I don't know what to do or how to fix him :( Looks like I'll be going to the scan and consultant on my own tomorrow and possibly giving birth on my own if I need to have baby early :(

BlueC2 · 10/06/2014 11:54

Oh auntie I'm so sorry, what awful timing! Is there anyone who can come and be with you whilst he is away? Does he have any siblings so they can all support one another/take turns with the visits etc or is he an only child? Thinking of you!

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 10/06/2014 12:33

Yes thinking of you Auntie and hoping all goes well at the scan tomorrow.

elliejjtiny · 10/06/2014 12:44

museum my baby has a massive tummy as well but nobody seems concerned about it.

auntie sending you an unmumsnetty hug and hope your DP is able to come home soon.

Jasmine my ds4 was born with enlarged ventricles. I won't say anymore about it when it's not definite with your baby but feel free to ask anything you want to know.

I'm all ready now apart from a couple of bits so panicking about stupid things. Like what do I do if they serve chicken for lunch in the postnatal ward as chicken has made me throw up the whole pregnancy.

I'm also worried about when the baby is born and everyone asks how the baby is and doesn't ask me how I'm feeling. I had this with all my other DC but it was more noticeable with DS4 as he was in NICU. People kept asking when they could visit him but nobody wanted to visit me apart from my mum, DH and the DC's. Loads of people wanted to see DS4 though.
