Doing ok H only 2 1/2 days left at work and EDD now less than 6 weeks away Shock. Keep swinging between wanting to give birth as tired of being pregnant but also terrified of labour and being in charge of such a little persons life!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend?

mrsb87 · 31/08/2014 07:50

Ugh feel like utter poop. I have to go for a repeat gtt today so that means I've had no gaviscon all night and so much acid reflux it's unreal! Up 3 times in the night. So tired now. Unfortunately a lot to do today as well as the gtt, food shop needs to be done and also we are hoping to get the floor finished in the bathroom before the weekend is up and dh needs to go back to work.
Thank goodness I can have a rest tomorrow! I will be 36wks tomorrow, want this to hurry up now!

binkybunny · 31/08/2014 08:02

Hope it goes ok this time mrsb and you can get back in your gaviscon. Make sure you don't do too much though, get MrB laying the bathroom floor!

mrsb87 · 31/08/2014 08:45

Aw yea he is doing all the bending and fitting, I am merely a helper!
I'm really worried I'm going to be sick between blood tests today. I feel so so nauseous today. I don't want to have to do the dawn test again!

weebairn · 31/08/2014 09:33

I have finished work so I should be over the moon, but me and boyfriend have been arguing and getting upset. I think we are both just tired but I feel a bit low in general. Maybe I've been holding myself together for work as well.

Went to get my hair cut yesterday as I thought it might cheer me up but my hairdresser decided to say I was "much bigger" than last time I was pregnant which has made me a bit grumpy and self conscious. Having a little wobble about labour too. And can't sleep, I was up at 4.30am this morning. And toddler is still having disturbed nights (better than a month ago, but at the beginning of the year she was sleeping through 11 hours every single night) and I'm a bit anxious about how we are going to cope with two. Feel like I might never see boyfriend again. Feel like he doesn't even like spending time with me anyway (this was what argument was about).

Seeing midwife tomorrow for 36 week appointment, maybe it will help to talk to her. A friend is coming over too.

mrsb87 · 31/08/2014 09:56

Sorry you're having a shitty time weebairn is it possible for you to get a baby sitter so you and your boyfriend can spend an evening together? I'm sure a bit of time just the 2 of you would help. I
I'm in awe of you being pregnant and having a lo! I'm barely coping being pregnant with just me and my doggie to look after!

weebairn · 31/08/2014 10:17

You're kind helen - I feel like I moan too much!

We are going to try and go out for a sneaky lunch during her nap today (she normally sleeps an hour or two at lunchtime) and my mum is up next weekend so we might leave toddler with grandma for a night and go stay with some friends, just let our hair down a bit (well he'll drink and play poker and I'll probably fall asleep at 9pm, rock n roll). It's a few hours away and I'll be 37 weeks but last baby was late so I'm not really considering anything could happen early.

Maybe it will just take a day or two to sink in work is over, it is a real weight off... I was supposed to be working next week too but have decided not to and that 36 weeks is enough for me, even half a day on my feet is enough for me now.

mrsb hope the gtt wasn't too grim and results are all ok. We have resorted to online food shopping recently...

binkybunny · 31/08/2014 13:22

Aw weebairn sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, I too am in awe of you coping with a toddler, being pregnant and working! I'm struggling too just looking after me.

Hope you get your night away and time to recharge.

I had great plans of things to do today, but so far I have managed to go to church and lay on the sofa. Feel like I might just have a nap this afternoon.

mrshjb · 31/08/2014 17:36

Weebairn sorry to hear you're feeling a bit crappy at the minute. Hopefully once you've had time to wind down and work feels like a distant memory, you might start to feel a bit better. Like the others have said, absolute hats off to you for having a very stressful job, a toddler and being heavily pregnant! It can't be easy at all so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. Sounds a good idea to spend a bit of time with your boyfriend before baby comes. Oh and the hairdresser can knob off Wink

Hope the test goes alright mrsb. When's your next midwife appointment?

Hope you managed a nice nap binky :)

mrsb87 · 31/08/2014 21:36

Well I haven't heard anything yet but I won't hold my breath. Next midwife appointment is on Wednesday, I think it's every other week now til the birth.
We finally have a floor in the bathroom and food in the house, in lots of pain now though around my hips and bum, cannot wait for my bath to be fitted now so I can wallow!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

mrsb87 · 01/09/2014 12:02

Still heard nothing
......

This is looking positive!

weebairn · 01/09/2014 12:22

They should have called you if any problems mrsb so that seems pretty hopeful! Are you going to have further growth scans then to decide whether it would be advisable to induce you? I have had a couple of mates with v big bumps but no diabetes. A couple of them had big babies too, but not all of them - not a very exact science I don't think.

I am due the day after you I think.

Had 36 week midwife appointment this morning (at home, toddler threw yoghurt at her) and we had a nice chat about labour as I was feeling a bit wobbly about doing it again... Feel better now and still going to go for the home birth I think. Baby is measuring 36cm at 36 weeks so clearly unlikely to be that big anyway (for some reason I got it in my head this baby is going to be really big even though last one was under 7 lb!)

Thanks helen and binky. Boyfriend has made more of an effort the last 24 hours (with me I mean, he's a fab parent and house-keeper all the time, much better than me) and I feel a bit better. How is anyone else finding heavily pregnant sex? Blush I feel so enormous and awkward! But felt better afterwards, more loved :)

I have got a friend coming round to help me entertain the toddler shortly! Strength in numbers!

weebairn · 01/09/2014 12:30

Sorry if my comment about big babies was adding to any worries mrsb. Lots of people say big babies are not any harder to birth. As I said mine was a midget and still took over 24 hours! I just can't get my head round the thought of having a big baby after having a teeny one last time, that's all!

binkybunny · 01/09/2014 16:39

weebairn you're making me feel very lazy now, haven't had sex for at least a month, maybe two! I just can't bear the hip/back ache and DH feels a bit weirded out about having sex 'with the baby in there'. At least we're both on the same page and it's not like one of us wants it and the other doesn't!

mrsb hoping no news is good news for you! How did your bumps and babies group go?

I just have 1 1/2 days left at work and seriously cannot be arsed at all. The person who's mat leave I was covering came back today and I no longer have a desk or pc so I left before 2pm to use up some overtime.

mrsb87 · 01/09/2014 16:39

I'm honestly not worrying too much a out things. Me worrying won't change anything! What will be will be Smile

Still heard nothing so I'm feeling super relieved now :-) so much so I've just had some Colin caterpillars to say "in your face diabetes!" Nom nom.

I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday so I guess I will find out what the next step will be then. Today I feel so huge it's unreal. I tried some trousers on in h&m but even the size up was too small so I theft feeling like a right heffalump Sad

mrsb87 · 01/09/2014 16:45

Ooh cross posted binks! Bumps and babies was actually quite good. Lots of babies and 1 other bump, but she had a lo too. Everyone was really welcoming and helped to make me feel comfortable (lol as comfortable as you can be at 36wks !)

We haven't had sex for a couple of weeks, my head really wants to but my body is less willing. Dh will go with whatever I want luckily so there isn't any pressure. I'm sure if I made the effort it would be worth it. I was speaking to the midwife at the antenatel class and she was saying semen actually helps to bring on labour. That should be enough incentive for me!

weebairn · 01/09/2014 17:58

mrsb laughing at colin caterpillars. You've got a great attitude, very sensible.

Oh and if it's any consolation I think H&M size things weirdly for maternity! i.e. everyone else says buy your pre-preg size but they say if first trimester buy your normal size, 2nd trimester 1 up, 3rd trimester 2 up - something like that. I find their maternity tops HUGE but their maternity jeans/trousers skinny and ridiculous. I mean clothes shopping just SUCKS in 3rd trimester anyway. I live in pyjamas.

Glad your group was nice, is it like a baby group then?

binky pretty normal and fine to not like sex in pregnancy I think! I went right off it in 1st trimester with the sickness. As long as you can talk about it and still be affectionate it's all good. After birth is not great either lol.
1 1/2 days is not long at all! You can do it! -shakes pompoms-

misskgb · 01/09/2014 22:15

Hi ladies. Sorry to hear some of u have had a rough few days. Loving the incentive to have sex mrsb!!

Dh & I had this conversation the other day-I really hate the amount of discharge I've had (sorry!) with this pregnancy n def don't want to be sharing with dh but at the same time,I miss being that close to dh. We tried a few weeks ago n he didn't like it on top coz he thought he was squishing rice krispie so we swapped but I wasn't comfy at all!

We managed at the weekend which was nice (nice is so not the right word but u get me!) & I grit my teeth through a bit of hip pain!

She's been super wriggly today n I've been very uncomfortable. She's fiund more strength too so much so it's like she's trying to break out of there!!!

chillychicken · 02/09/2014 08:39

Hi all, sorry for absence recently...it's been manic and I haven't had time to catch up!

Sorry to see some of you are having a rough time. Just to add to the sex thing - we last had sex 2 weeks ago and I really feel like we should be making more effort but I'm just shattered. DH reckons we're doing ok though so I'm not too worried.

26+2 today and feeling ok. My back and hips ache constantly which isn't great but otherwise, all good. Bump growing nicely and lots of movement. Movement slowed over the weekend but I think baby had just shifted position a bit as we're back to kicking constantly now. Consultant appointment on Friday so we'll finally find out why I'm under consultant care!

Worked from home yesterday as a test run. I'll be working from home full time from November so thought it wise to do a few test runs first to iron out any issues. Yesterday went well, so well in fact that we decided to do it again today. Grin

weebairn · 02/09/2014 08:42
