hi folks - thought we should have a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kantha · 03/06/2014 16:04

Yes yes re itchy nipples (and breasts generally, belly, ribs etc). Driving me bonkers Confused . I have been having other skin issues not associated with being pregnant since January, so I am assuming my skin has generally gone a bit berserk after lots of antibiotics, steroid creams etc + pg hormones. Hmm

mismylinford · 03/06/2014 16:24

re - movements - 18 + 1 and been bumping for just over a week some days alot more then other (like today must be learning tap dance in there).
unfortunately hd can't feel what i can yet but midwife last week said what i feel will be movements mainly coz im so slender.. or was i feel huge now. ( worked like mad to get figure back after dd 13 stone just after birth and i was bang on 8 at booking in)

mismylinford · 03/06/2014 16:27

anyone else getting one hiccup???? every now and again.... ???

Oklahoma · 03/06/2014 16:49

Yes to the hiccups. They're driving me crazy! No consistency and have had them for like 8 weeks now. Just another one of those things I guess.

StudyFullTime · 03/06/2014 18:43

After hearing heart beat yesterday I've ordered myself a doppler, I had one for DS and they really are fab.

I'm having cravings for microwave popcorn and have a special bowl for it to go in after being zapped, anyone else having cravings? I've put on so much weight that I just don't care anymore but will be working hard when baby is born to get back to 10 stone. I put on nearly 5 stone with DS Shock

Anyone else really tired, I have to have a 10 minute snooze at 5pm almost every day and that's with a full 8 hours at night! I'm definitely not a spring chicken anymore thank goodness DS is 4 and not a baby/toddler...

Alita7 · 03/06/2014 18:45

just got the weirdest sharp pain going in a thin line from my belly button down to my bits, worse I poked my belly!

mismylinford · 03/06/2014 18:50

alita just growing pains, if its really bad pain then call midwife just for peace of mind but they will probably just say relax take some pain killers and have a bath. having lots of sharp tummy pains recently.... lots of baths lol

Alita7 · 03/06/2014 21:05

It lasted until I weed but I don't think I have a UTI as they've checked lots of times.

utopian99 · 04/06/2014 08:11

Sorry to miss out on posts but have been awol while moving into our still-unfinished flat. Not advisable with a toddler and pg, in terms of stress levels, although my generally obsessive attitude to tidiness probably doesn't help!

BabyButton1 · 04/06/2014 09:18

I had my latest scan last week and everything looked good so I'm now just waiting for my 20 week scan in a few weeks. :-)

Barmybunting - Report writing - I'm not able to do them right now but I'm really hopeful that I'll be back in school before the end of term so I can pull something together for them. My head did mention about doing them at home (like I'm just sat at home having a jolly) and I had to explain that I was still in bed non stop so no! I do miss my class a lot though. That's nice that you are only working until September :-) you'll have a couple of months to relax and prepare. I'm ok with SEN etc. as I'll not have to panic about handover of class and assessments etc. especially if I happened to go if earlier than expected.

Mismylinford - that's great you can feel baby. I'm really can't wait to feel mine...and yes I'm thinking of ordering a Doppler...just worried I'll get addicted and want to listen nonstop ;-)!!

Studyfulltime - yes I'm napping lots too. More like a good hour in the afternoon and 10 hours at night. Popcorn sounds like a nice craving...mines sour sour sweets...

TwigletFiend · 04/06/2014 10:25

Morning all. Welcome babybutton, glad you've got another scan to look forward too soon and hope you're feeling ok today.

Sadly, my MS has made a fairly stunning reappearance this morning at 16 + 3 - lunging my horse this morning and suddenly started to get tell-tale white sparkles in the corners of my eyes (on the two occasions I've fainted in my life have had this before passing out). Wobbled over to the edge of the arena for a sit down, felt a bit better after a minute or so and got up to put pony back in his stable. Made it about 150 yards outside, sparkles reappeared but started to spread across my eyes so sat back down again, promptly retched and heaved for a good ten minutes Sad On the plus side, my pony was very good and let me lean against his leg when I was slumped over feeling weak and pathetic afterwards and he didn't move a muscle until I got back up.

Anyone else had this? MS disappearing then coming back? Wondering if this is a sign that it's going to get as bad as it was a few weeks ago Confused

Study, a few weeks ago I craved Marmite really badly - ate my body weight in Twiglets, had Marmite on toast for breakfast, Marmite sandwiches for lunch... Couldn't get enough of it! Seems to have passed now though, though if I smell Marmite I need to eat it still.

No movement here yet, though not 100% sure what it will feel like and have had very bloated, gassy stomach so could have felt something and written it off as gas!

ladydolly · 04/06/2014 10:34

thisisimpossible I'm definitely doing Lazydaisy, my sister had a 10lb baby in 2012 and then 8lb8oz last week and she said she could never have done it without the course. I thought you did it much later though, I have contacted my local lady but apparently she's on mat leave so trying to find another at the moment.

I can still only feel movements in certain positions (like if I'm hunched over in a ball) or if when sitting down I pull my stomach muscles in, I get a good old whack from inside to let me know he/she is getting squashed!

Alita7 · 04/06/2014 11:14

Twig let I have the occasion ms relapse but it hasn't become a constant again phew! Though I still don't feel right and have headaches or feel sick occasionally.

is anyone else seeing pregnant women everywhere? Either there's a baby boom or I'm now gravitating towards them :p

PosyFossilsShoes · 04/06/2014 11:39

Yes, seeing pregnant women everywhere. There's a name for this (confirmation bias? Something like that) - there was some sort of science done with people who were angry about cyclists going through red lights and they actually didn't see the cyclists who were stopped at red lights. I think usually I don't specially notice pregnant women but I'm highly attuned now!

Is anybody else grinning chummily at said pregnant strangers? They must think I'm out of my tree, I'm not showing yet.

mismylinford · 04/06/2014 11:45

10lb baby!!! ouchies!

ladydolly · 04/06/2014 12:04

mismylinford I know!!! he came out looking he should be crawling. Her hubby is 6'3 so I'm hoping the large baby thing is from his side of the family and not ours!!!

BabyButton1 · 04/06/2014 12:27

Yes I see pregnant women everywhere..I can't help but stare and guess how far gone they are. I'm usually jealous because they are normally eating and enjoying themselves and I'm desperate to get to that stage.

10lb baby - geeeez I hope that doesn't happen to you, or anyone of us.

weeonion · 04/06/2014 12:48

Afternoon all! The thread has been a bit quieter of late - maybe the facebook page is the place to be??? :-)

Twiglwt - that sounds rough!
MS had gone but getting queasiness about once a day again. Its the stretchy achy joints causing some problems - though probably not helped by soaking wet camping and hiking with dd's school last week!!

My 20 week scan was cancelled on monday so now another week to wait. Bah.

I had been feeling movements for weeks but they seem to have stopped. Feeling paranoid but could be because life is v busy at mo'. Hopefully.

Time is moving on folks - the days and weeks are flying by!!

TwigletFiend · 04/06/2014 12:56

Hi weeonion, maybe you're right! Definitely taken us longer to get through this thread than the previous one. My joints are a pain too (no pun intended!). I am very crunchy anyway and I have a genetic problem with my SI joint on the one side ('thin' joint fluid means the bones grind together if it gets 'stuck' - ouch!). The last week or so though I've noticed my hips clicking constantly - my right hip in particular, it clicks every single time I go up a step with it, without fail. Bizarrely, one of my rib attachments has also started to crunch if I lift my chest and stretch my ribcage. Gross and quite uncomfortable plus it sounds like a bloody gun going off! Has anyone done ante-natal pilates or anything similar? I'm thinking of giving it a go.

lady, if I have a ten pound baby I'm going to demand drugs from the start! I have very wide hips and the babies in my family tend to be long but narrow, so I am praying this one doesn't choose to buck the trend. Eek!

Is anyone doing Lazy Daisy classes? I'm doing an NCT course later on but am thinking that these are more labour and birth-specific. Any clues on if that's correct?! I'd like to be as prepared as possible (because the thought of childbirth makes me whimper) and several people on the general pregnancy forum seem to swear by these classes.

blamber · 04/06/2014 13:02

I think I felt movements yesterday, like bubbles popping. Definitely didnt feel like wind!

I've had the popcorn craving too, but the homemade version of caramel popcorn. You pop your corn, then melt butter, sugar and honey and boil it untill its caramel and then coat the popcorn in it. Sooo tasty! I want some now!

I have a 16 week scan tomorrow! Can't wait to see the baby again and know if its growing ok. Do you think that if everything is ok at the scan, I could ask I they can see the gender? I've asked my oh and he wouldn't mind if I found out. Then the day after an appointment with the consultant and the week after I'm seeing the midwife! Loads of appointments!

blamber · 04/06/2014 13:09

Twiglet I'm doing antenatal yoga, which works on stretching your body but also relaxation. Doing it a home though from a DVD, because of my new job I can't make my yoga classes anymore.

I also want to do aqua natal. The midwife can prescribe it and then you get time off work for it. I thought it might help to lower stress and prevent high blood pressure for me.

I'm not sure what lazy daisy classes entail. Is it quite spiritual and stuff? That definitely wouldn't be for me!

I'm on the Facebook group as well, but it's not that busy there either. Guess many people or just in that phase where nothing much happens with scans and symptoms!

Miskate · 04/06/2014 13:14

OMG Blamber that popcorn sounds AMAZING

StudyFullTime · 04/06/2014 13:30

Bleurgh Marmite has to be the worse thing on this planet...you weird weird person you!

I'm now officially a sahm and it feels great, my house has never been tidier/cleaner, my DS is happier cause he's seeing mummy more.

I have a timetable of stuff to do from his nursery so will be keeping on track with all his learning though we're not sticking to it religiously and do deviate.

I've found lots of groups and activities and will be swimming and meeting with family a lot more.

AussieGoingHomeSoon · 04/06/2014 14:01

Study- that sounds so nice ! Having only just gone back to work from maternity leave I'm really missing my time with my babies !

Blamber-I am making that popcorn tonight !!

I can't stop eating fresh pineapple & angel delight (not together !!)

DS has never been a great sleeper but since I've gone back to work when he wakes he screams bloody murder if I try and put him back in his cot after any wake ups & so has been sleeping in bed with me. I am not meant to be a co-sleeper, It's so uncomfortable, I get arm cramps, back cramps from sleeping around him and he likes to dig his fingers into my gums between my teeth and lips or pull my hair every now & then during the night, so sleeping rubbish at the moment & so tired from this new working all day thing !

DD who he shares room with stays at MIL 2 nights while I'm working so attempted to do some sleep training last night which resulted in being up from 2-5am today ! I hope this next one is like DD who slept thru from very young and could sleep through a marching band playing at her feet ! Please let this one be a sleeper !! Grin

We have 20week scan in a couple of weeks ! Can't wait to see baby, not finding out gender but ill be looking and having a guess but no confirmation !

blamber · 04/06/2014 14:20

The popcorn is indeed amazing!

Aussie now I fancy pineapple and angel delight too. Maybe even together!!
