Thank you Sasseh! So many scans coming up in just over a weeks time how exciting! Is there a way we can post on here to share?

dottytablecloth · 12/05/2014 12:48

sasseh I've lost 10lbs in the last 10 weeks.

I do wonder when the blooming will startSad

Somersetgirl1990 · 12/05/2014 13:25

Wow I'm so jealous of everyone losing weight Hmm I've put on so much weight! And I haven't even been able to eat anything!

Does anyone know how bad mouldy bread is for you? I've just had two bits of toast, whilst eating the second bit I noticed a massive blob of mould on the crust, I'd already polished off the first bit so I'm assuming I've eaten mould. Is that bad??

PresidentSpreadable · 12/05/2014 13:38

Nah, it's just penicillin isn't it?

Ladylel · 12/05/2014 14:05

Well jealous wish I was losing weight! It would only be what i needed to lose before i got pregnant anyway.
Anyone elses boobs incredibly sore/tender today? Almost like a shooting pain every now and again.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/05/2014 14:09

Well I'm just back from my holiday and I'm thoroughly pissed off already :( the doctor has had my blood test results in but hasn't bothered ringing me and the soonest they can ring me is Wednesday. Trying to relay to the receptionist how important it is to know whether I need to increase or decrease my medication was painful.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/05/2014 14:11

And I still haven't heard anything from the hospital or the midwife or whoever I should be hearing from. Makes me think because I'm supposedly high risk, they're waiting until much later on when it's definitely established. MOAN MOAN MOAN.

trying29 · 12/05/2014 14:16

my boobs are incredibly sore today. insomnia seems to have stopped a bit, slept through til 7 yestserday and last night. scaring myself that this means something. also only feeling a little nauseous and not been sick at all. hopefully everything is going ok in there! 6+4

chillychicken · 12/05/2014 14:44

Hi all

Ugh. Just…ugh.

I’m suffering with mouth ulcers. Lots of them. There isn’t a part of my mouth that doesn’t hurt right now. I’ve also had a stinking cold since Wednesday. I thought it was starting to improve but yesterday I was knocked for six again and today I feel horrendous. Going to leave work half an hour early today to rest up again.

DH being fabulous. Taking care of me and not moaning about my complete lack of interest in anything or my constant bad mood. He does keep saying “I thought you’d be happy” with a sad look on his face, and I keep explaining that I am happy but I feel rough and it’s difficult to show happiness when you’re so tired. I think he’s beginning to understand.

Boobs are falling out of bra so I really need to order a new one. I’ve lost 3lbs since finding out I was pregnant but feel (and look) half a stone heavier. Constantly freezing – has anyone else had this?

Hair in desperate need of a colour but I’m stupidly scared to go before 12 weeks. Mainly because I will need to get a skin test (my skin is much more sensitive now) and I have mutual friends with my hairdresser and she’s a gossip. I have an appointment booked for Saturday but I’m considering cancelling. Is that daft? DH is worried about the chemicals before 12 weeks too.

I’m going to tell my Dad this week and DSIL at the weekend. I’m 10 weeks on Wednesday so feeling a bit more confident. I don’t have my scan date through yet but I’m hoping it’ll come through this week. Overall, I’m still not going to do a big announcement. I’m now worrying that the anomaly scan will pick something up (yes, I’m worrying about a scan 10 WEEKS AWAY, FFS) so I don’t plan on doing a whole “Woohoo, pregnant person right here” announcement at all.

I guess I just can’t believe I’m lucky enough to actually be pregnant. I’m not a lucky person so I guess I’m just expecting something to go wrong. I need to find my “glass half full” persona, she’s hiding in their somewhere (probably next to my squished bladder)

littlepickly · 12/05/2014 15:38

Hi all,

Marking my place on the new thread, I don't get chance to post often but try to read as much as possible.

I should be 12 weeks on weds and have my scan date through for this Friday - have mixed feeling as had mmc in December but have still been feeling pretty rough so hopefully all is ok, my boobs are so sore too so hopefully that's a good sign!

I've definitely not lost any weight, have put on about 5lbs so far and I'm only 5ft 1 - I seem to remember I did this when pregnant with DD then evened out in the other trimesters.

Wearing maternity trousers today for work as everything just digging in a bit too much now!!

Have really gone off tea which upsets me greatly and am hoping that I start liking it again soon as could really do with a cuppa Grin

SassehMonsta · 12/05/2014 16:21

Blergh!!! I really don't like my midwife. Dumb woman wound me & dh right up. Started badly (talking about belly dancing in pregnancy, turned her nose right up at me - duck you if you don't like the idea, pregnant or not!) & went downhill.

Suffice to say, I'm very glad she has referred me to consultant regarding my bronchiectasis. Slightly saddened that I'll probably not get the chance to use the lovely new midwife led unit, but never mind. She also lied to me about antenatal classes, telling me they don't give out details until about 28 weeks and its the same across the county - my arse is it! Best mate had had details of them since she was 6 weeks and she lives 4 miles away in the same town!!!

She didn't seem at all worried about my weight loss (despite it being over 5% of my body weight) and just made sure I was staying hydrated. Guess that's fair enough but even dh was surprised. Booked in for bloods first week in June (bloody ages away) but hey, no needles today!

Got a massive cold sore that makes me look like I've got a face of herpes, and horribly spotty and gross. Still just about managing to keep custard down but daren't try anything else.

Miserable, 9+0 (grump)

And Emily, do you mean sharing scans? If so, it's possible to add pictures to posts, I'm going to attempt to put my 6+4 scan on (but on the kindle, it could go wrong!)

Sorry to hear posts about insensitive midwives and crap doctors. I didn't understand the belly dancing bit - are you saying you belly dance and she disapproved?

I always find I have to triple check everything in terms of follow ups etc after midwife appointments. Also agree that EPUs massively cut back. After I had my miscarriage and was pg again I was given an 8 week scan. This time I was told no chance. It's so sad because if you are bleeding you can't get any reassurance.

I swear if it was men doing this there would be weekly scans for reassurance. Grrrr.

I'm 8 plus 6 today. Still sick. Dinner tonight was a pork pie.

I look like total crap. Pale, bloated, dull skin. Not sure if that's 4 weeks of crisp eating or hormones!

cheesecake hope you got on ok today

SassehMonsta · 12/05/2014 19:30

Yes - have belly danced for years and my teacher does ante and post natal (including baby wearing) belly dance. She didn't so much disapprove but looked more shocked/disgusted at the thought. You would think that midwives would be less obvious about their own opinions!! makes it worse that my mil is my teacher and it was one of her posters we referred to - i made that poster!!! Wound me up a bit - if I was pregnant and considering it, she would have totally put me off. Grrr grumble grr!

Took advantage of a ten minute "ok" patch to put some rice on, and have managed almost a whole bowl of rice with peas and sweetcorn - Hurrah! An almost meal, and with veg!

How utterly bizarre sasseh. Surely any exercise during pg is to be applauded. She is probably just jealous! Good on you.

Personally I have the coordination and elegance of a duck - hats off to you :)

Treaclepie19 · 12/05/2014 21:00

Sorry you had a bad time sasseh, I'd love to belly dance. Unfortunately I have too much belly to dance with :p

Somersetgirl1990 · 12/05/2014 21:12

Does anyone know how to ease a cold? I'm feeling so bunged up and just want to retreat to bed with a load of lemsip tablets but can't Confused

Treaclepie19 · 12/05/2014 21:14

I've just been taking paracetamol.
How about hot water and lemon?

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/05/2014 21:25

What??? cant we have Lemsip???

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/05/2014 21:32

Hot water with lemon and honey, boiled sweets for your throat, hot shower, posh (not scratchy!) tissues, LOTS of rest. Colds are so miserable, I'm sorry you've got that to deal with on top :(

I've got the worst back ache so I think I'm gonna grab some heat pads tomorrow. Work is gonna be miserable otherwise!

Off to bed now, I think. DIY SOS has me sobbing at the best of times, never mind pregnant. I'm going to have to turn it off before it gets too emosh!

KateJ28 · 12/05/2014 22:02

I feel for you with a rotten cold Chilly - I had one not long ago myself and I know what you mean about not being able to feel happy when you're bunged up, exhausted and all round miserable. Look after yourself and drink lots of that lemon and honey! I found steaming over a hot bowl of water with albas oil helped too.

I don't think lemsip is allowed as it's got a lot of caffeine in, but maybe that's just lemsip max?!

KateJ28 · 12/05/2014 22:05

p.s. I'm having my hair coloured in a couple of weeks when I'll be 11 wks and not really worried about it, but maybe I'm being blase! I figure feeling better about myself and being positive is only a gd thing! Do you really think the hairdresser will tell other people though?! Can't you just say your skin has been a bit itchy recently?! Pretty awful if she does break your news for you...

7+1

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/05/2014 22:17

Is it the decongestant in it maybe? Hot water, lemon and honey and take two paracetamol. Fake Lemsip!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/05/2014 22:17

I think the issue with hair dye is that your hair can react differently than usual, so a strand test is more important. I agree though, treat yourself!

monkeybaby2 · 12/05/2014 22:20

Sorry been in the wilds of Scotland so radio silence the last week.

For ladies struggling to find big pretty bras - Bravissimo is your friend. Your boobs probably won't change too much after first 12 weeks until your milk comes in. Bravissimo will also fit you for nursing bras ahead of birth and they've always been spot on for me. Am a 34G normally so get monstrously large later on!

For hideous colds try a teaspoon of Manuka honey in hot water with lemon and fresh ginger. Get the honey with the highest level of activity you can afford. It might be snake oil but I'm a believer! You can get it from Holland & Barrett.
